You can argue for or against the fact that he's better than other candidates being discussed
What's absolutely not arguable is that there's no way he's coming back and the way this situation has been handled will have put off some potentially good replacements.

Interesting. I'd never boo a player wearing our shirt personally, seems a bit counterintuitive if you want them to play well, but I think it's fair enough to be honest. Nobody should begrudge Trent or any other player leaving for free at the end of their contract, that's their right and essentially exactly what they are being paid to do when they signed it in the first place. But I get why people would boo that. You've made a choice to prioritize your own career and put that first in front of the clubs benefit. Again, totally understandable and acceptable from the players POV but it's hardly surprising that thousands of fans who have the club first at heart are disappointed with that decision. |

Right, let's have it then.
Palace. Sort of. I find myself having a bit of a mid life crisis here. They were my local team growing up so the vast majority of my friends supported them, obviously, you're going to go a bit against the grain there as you do and so I always cheered against them. But now...I'm finding myself torn, I might actually want them to do well? Couple of decades out of the country means I'm not as close to football outside of QPR as I used to be and I'm not around any Palace fans daily so it's not as raw. And they're actually running their club properly, had a great youth pipeline for years, made the most of their promotion to the premier league unlike us who always screw it up.
And then Eze, how can you root against him? |

The alternative to "running his contract down" was to sign another contract, which he didn't want to do and wasn't obligated to do. It's not like he was stretching people along saying he'll sign and then bailing at the last minute, I think he's been pretty open |

It's a valid question. I'd be hoping he's successful, because it means we are successful. I don't understand people who wish for a loss so the manager is sacked for example. But every bit of success would be tainted and a little bit less special as a result. Bit like promotion to the premier league under redknapp, but worse. |
