It’s all about opinions isn’t it. We could all put our ratings on and everyone would be different To answer some of the above I was actually at the game so I saw both halves. I wouldn’t say Fernandez was awful first half but he was poor for him. I gave him 7 rather than probably 5 or 6 because he scored a good goal which saw us through and provided one of the only bits of quality from us.
I thought both Wood and Edwards were p!ss poor. I gave Wood a 2 because he gave two completely unnecessary fouls away both of which nearly lead to a goal and against better opponents probably would have. Both Wood and Edwards’s distribution was poor - they pass the ball with their shins
Worst by far was Brereton-Diaz, the white Ali Dia. He runs like my 50 year old fat uncle
He’ll realise from this that not only are BBD and Archer 💩 they don’t give a 💩 either Downs is a long way off being a championship player if he ever gets there. He completely missed his kick in front of goal again. Even a very average championship striker would be sitting with 2 goals right now
Let’s hope Sport Republic give Still the backing his potential deserves
I’m going to concentrate on the positive rather than list the negatives.
IMO Stephen’s was motm. He made two great last ditch challenges to keep it at 0-1 and scored the last gasp winner. Plus he marshalled a very young defence
Bazunu made a brilliant save near the end when he’d had little to do all all half and like Ron11 said you could see our improvement in fitness because we were as fresh at the end as at the start
I thought Still’s substitutions were brave but excellent and I thought we got the win our play deserved against the 12 men from Wrexham
This was a potential banana skin against a team with a lot of momentum who have spent big and will surprise a few people this season
The important thing is we started with a win which is rare for us and the manner of the late comeback is a massive confidence boost after last season’s limp performances
Totally agree Pat. It’s time we made a statement. I’m sure most of our business will happen in the last couple of days of the window so fingers crossed
I suppose time will tell. I can see him going into the opening games as our number one He’s undoubtedly a decent keeper but I think he’s weak with shots at head height. He seems to react slowly then somehow seems to get about 6 inches shorter
I’d say CB and LB we are sorted. I’d like to see a starting RB come in Defensive midfield we’re also sorted but assuming Fernandez goes we will need an attacking/creative midfielder Up front if Stewart stays fit and Archer turns up we’ll have time to bed Downs in I think we could do with a winger who can beat his man and cross the ball The position I’m most worried about is keeper and I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but I have to disagree with you Nick on Bazunu. I think we only got promoted because he got injured. McCarthy came in and pulled off a number of saves that Bazunu would never have made plus McCarthy cut out a lot of the playing out from the back 💩 that saw Bazunu gift countless goals
