Best flight/service/food etc on a plane airline
at 16:21 16 Sep 2025

Singapore airlines.

We use them every year. I love my meats but I always request an Indian Vegetatian meal. No matter the route or destination it’s been superb. veg curry, rice, chapati, pickles, etc. Tasty , spicy and hits the spot. LHR or SIN or HKT

A Kelmanation of errors QPR vs Charlton Athletic Match Thread
at 15:06 30 Aug 2025

"If all our players had the same attitude as him we would walk this league. "

Absolutely!

On paper we have a very good team. Yet on the pitch , on the whole, they underperform.

I thought Dembele was very poor today. I cant see him being a 'starter'. He's far too lightweight in all aspects.

Dunne looked like he was knackered at half time.

Defence was very sloppy at times. Menbengue lucky to still be on the pitch. Brain fades! Walsh totally at fault for their goal.

Impressed by Smyth, Kone, Saito and especially Norrington -Davis.

Pleased that on the whole we have abandoned the 100% playing out from the back. the few times we tried we gave them the ball in very dangerous positions. We luckily got away with those mistakes.

Charlton infinitely a poorer team than Coventry

We will need a better performance than today to get anything at Wrexham.

But, it was an improvement. They must use the next 2 weeks to gte the fitness levels up.

Start Saito ahead of Demebele. Start Hayden ahead of Madsen. Start Nardi ahead of Walsh.

Past few years I’ve read the entire Longmire series. Excellent

Also Danny Bakers books. Amusing mostly - he even makes light of his head cancer.

I don’t usually read non fiction but Currently reading To catch a King by Charles Spencer. Fascinating

Julien Stéphan

The fish rots from the head. Julien Stéphan is nearer the tail than the head but he is in my mind useless. 5 nil down, 47 mins in and his answer is to bring on Madsen. Sums it up really.

With Nourry and his cronies in charge Marti only delayed the inevitable

Nothing will change for the better until we have real “proper “ football men in charge and ideally as owners too.

Yes Stéphan is out of his depth but Nourry et al are far far worse

For many years Clive has been saying that QPR is being slowly killed by the kindness of our owners. Well after today it seems we are on a pathway to end of life

Owners OUT, Nourry OUT
at 16:24 23 Aug 2025

Nourry out for sure

We have a League 2 at best quality manager. With league 1 players. With a totally out of his depth CEO/DOF with a god complex. And an absent owner who has zero football sence.

They are all totally out of their depth. The past two seasons were saved by MS. He simply delayed the inevitable

With these jokers in charge we are doomed for sure

anyone on here currently driving an electric car ?
at 16:41 26 Jun 2025

I’ve topped up my car most days. 3 yrs ago when new I had a GOM of 310;in the summer. Currently I get a GOM of 305-310. Battery degradation is no issue at all

Range anxiety. Never had it in 10 years. It’s a made up issue

Yes ideally if charging “on the road “. Unplug at 80% and move on. It’s far quicker that way

And totally agree. Lease Is the sensible way to go

Leasing is the way. You cant beat the depreciation game but rather than cough up best part of £40K and lose 25% when you drive it off the forecourt, pay it monthly over 3 or 4 years.

Watch out for servicing 'Scams' for EVs. Some are downright daylight robbery. Nissan wanted me to service the Leaf every 12 months. In 3 years it cost me over £600 in servicing costs. My current Hyundai has a 3 yr manufacturer service deal including its MOT. Total cost was £305

My new Hyundai Kona only needs a service every 2 years, so on a 3 year lease it will need just one service. I think its the same for VW EVs . But check the servicing requirements & costs before committing. Check with the manufacturer not the dealer. My new car dealer was adamant my new Kona would need a service every year. Hyundai HQ (UK) confirmed it was only necessary every 2 years. My dealers response was ' you learn something new every day'

Charging. Always top up at home every night. And if you use Octopus go or Intelligent tariff that can be up to 6 hours every night for just 7p per kw - for all the power the car takes and also that used by the home. I am on Octopus Intelligent and I often also get a good few hours of 7p leccy during the daytime too, especially at weekends. And if Octopus give a £50 cash credit if you switch to them using a code from an existing customer. Octopus also have a charging app wher the cost of the charge is placed against your home electricity bill. Quite handy and often there is a small discount on the chargers normal rate if you use their app.

As you say, most trips are 5-10 miles. My longest is usually Devon to Heathrow around 200 miles. An easy non stop journey but as its nearly 5 hours driving we stop half way for a drink/food etc and charge the car at the same time. The car doesn't need the stop- we do:)

If you are charging away from home then try and use Tesla Superchargers if you can. They can be up to half the price of some major charging networks and oftten have even cheaper rates at off peak times

For example. Tesla Bristol Cribbs 51p per kw (only 37p from 8pm to 9am). Instavolt Cribbs 87p per kw

Tesla Amesbury 51p (43p 10pm to 8 am) and just 100 yards away you have: Instavolt 87p and Gridserve 79p

Hope you enjoy the test drive. Way back in 2015 it took just 1 min of our test drive for us to decide

Been driving an EV since 2015

Renault Zoe, Nissan Leaf, Hyundai Kona (amazing car) and next week a new Hyundai Kona arrives.

Zero regrets since day 1. Costs 7p in 'leccy to drive 4 miles. A full 'tank' costs about £4.50- enough to do around 300 miles.

So much 'anti EV' stuff spouted in the press / social media is utter twaddle.

Renewing MicrosoftFamily365 - But not with the AI stuff

In the past 8 years or so I wait until Amazon or even Argos have the Family 365 for around £50

Keep a watchful eye on the web site hotukdeals. You will find office 365 deals as soon as they are available

Back in October via hotukdeals I was made aware of Office 365 family for £45.99. I bought 2. My existing 365 lapsed in February. The very next day I loaded the 2 license codes I had bought in October. Happy days
