Ipswich and Coventry promoted. Saints in top half chasing me play -offs. |
 | Forum Reply | Who are the players that Will Still says want to leave? at 15:54 14 Jul 2025
I think Still said BBC and Armstrong are in his plans if they want to be. Ultimately so much of this isn't in SR's hands. If nobody comes in for Ramsdale presumably we will have to loan him out abroad whilst subsidising his wages. Assuming THB, Bednarek and Bella Kotchap want to go but if there are no offers for them but there are for Ronnie Edwards, Edozie, Charles and Fernandes we may end up selling our youngsters rather than those that have blotted their copy book last year. Apparently Dibling might opt to stay and run down his contract so a cheap sale there is possible. |
 | Forum Reply | Little Happening On The Transfer Front at 12:57 12 Jul 2025
Like last year his options seem to be limited to the promoted clubs. Apparently Bournemouth are signing the Chelsea keeper for more than Ragsdale. Newcastle are after Trafford which means Pope could be a solid cheap option for Leeds. Not sure he will be on his way despite his England aspirations and Saints desperate to get their money back. |
 | Forum Reply | Full Scale Replica Of Titanic To Launch Sail From Southampton at 19:48 25 Jun 2025
In all seriousness, my Dad and Grandad wouldn't watch any film version or entertainment about the Titanic because of the number of Southampton working class families who lost loved ones who were part of the crew and staff on the ship, never valued or properly recompensed. |
 | Forum Reply | Saints - Goztepe’s feeder club? at 12:05 15 Jun 2025
I'm not sure whether this is true of Quarshie but I would expect Saints, like any large business, to have different strands of financial activity. The purchase and development of young players within the SR group will be one of these strands probably with ring fenced finances and financial goals just like corporate hospitality, merchandise, sponsorship etc. It's a shame all of these players are presented oo the website as if they are first team options. |

Assuming McKenna stays. Ipswich, Birmingham and Coventry to be promoted. No idea about Saints, massive overhaul needed and very difficult to achieve whilst creating a winning team. Don't think Pat is far off 6th to 10th. I think Swansea will be much better and Sheff Wed will be relegated. |

Smallbone getting his turn as the left sided centre back! |
 | Forum Reply | Charles/Edwards and the rest... at 20:13 23 Feb 2025
Given our current situation it's probably better that they are as far away from St Mary's as possible. The season is dead and buried and Saints are relegated. I expect Ramsdale, THB, Bednarek, Downes, Dibling , Onuachu, Kamaldeen and sadly Fernandes to be sold. McCarthy, KWP, Stephens, Aribo, Fraser, Taylor, Lallana will all go as well along with, hopefully, Juric. With any luck we'll get a new manager and play a sensible brand of football with a core team of Bazunu, Sugawara, Wood, Edwards, Welington, Charles, Armstrong, Archer and Edozie plus a few new experienced Championship players to help us start to re-build. Maybe that might include Ballard finally. |

Same. When did football become so complicated. Oh for a goalkeeper that makes saves, centre backs that can defend, fullbacks that can tackle and cross the ball, holding midfielders that win the ball and pass it forwards. A creative midfielder and inside forwards that can dribble, pass and shoot and a striker with a good first touch and an eye for goal. Footballers aren't normally the sharpest knives in the drawer and can easily become confused ours are completely lost! |
 | Forum Reply | Are we as fans really that unhappy to return to the Championship? at 16:54 24 Jan 2025
It's simple for me. I enjoy Saints winning and being competitive in as many games as possible. We are currently very competitive and can win games in the Championship but not in the Premier League, where the players salaries ultimately determine which teams win the trophies. You might get a one off like Leicester but it's virtually impossible to develop a competitive team over a number of seasons without the best players moving on for more money. Leicester had one chance to win the league and they took it before their team was broken up by the Rich clubs. |
 | Forum Reply | Sulemena on the bench at 13:30 19 Jan 2025
Fraser on the bench. I thought he was in the proverbial wilderness with Stephens. |
 | Forum Reply | Rohl and Shea Charles at 13:28 19 Jan 2025
I can't see the point in recalling Shea Charles. Leave him at Wednesday for playing time and confidence. He isn't a Premier League player yet and won't make much difference to us. He'll be on the bench playing the odd ten minutes and will be part of the malaise in confidence. |
 | Forum Reply | Mateus Fernandes - new midfielder at 13:01 19 Aug 2024
If we buy this lad then presumably we are selling Charley Alcaraz. I guess some money needs to come in and Charley seems to have some interest from other clubs. I'm expecting KWP, ABK, Onuachu, Mara, Kamaldeen and Charley to all leave before the end of the window to balance the books although I'm not sure how much Saints will actually make on the sales. |

Thought today was really well done by RM and the team. Experienced team focussing on defending without giving up too many chances. If McCarthy is to be our goalkeeper give him lots of game time and make him do stuff he struggles with, that way he'll improve. Stephens played well and we are more solid if he goes forward and leaves THB and Bednarek as the back line. Aribo, Smallbone and Downes are a good midfield three and might just compete with Newcastle. After the last few years Saints are in a financial mess. RM and his staff did great to get us promoted. I really respect the ethos, care and enthusiasm he has brought to the club in stark contrast to some previous managers. I hope we stick with him and the team and if we go down so be it. We'll be very competitive in the championship with Dibling, Sam Amo, Charles and Edwards. C'mon you Saints! |

Always been the same. In 1980 I was in Trafalgar Square celebrating the new decade peacefully and happily. A small band of NF thugs making Nazi salutes tried to stop the celebrations. They weren't representative of the UK then and the EDF/ Reform gang aren't representative of the UK now. It's simply amplified by social media and the endless news reports. I support the police, decency and tolerance like the vast majority of the UK. A bit of rain will sort it out and the start of the for all season. |
