Convenient??? For who exactly? Certainly not Walsh who was just establishing himself as first choice |

Talking about a team falling to pieces…Sligo Rovers playing Kerry in FAI Cup Q/F. Kerry didn’t even exist as a Senior team until 3 years ago. Rover’s 3-0 up with half an hour to play. Kerry win 4-3 aet. Think we have just had our Vauxhall Motors moment. Sorry nothing to do with the Championship and I have had a lot to drink, but 3-0 up to 3-4 wtf man. |

Dwight York seemed to be popular and always smiling. Frank Worthington was 'cool' to my teenage eye. I don't think players were publicly reviled as much back in the day, because (a) no social meeja and (B) they weren't making 300 grand a week. |

This exactly. I suppose some of the Eze money spent on paying up his contract, I hope he gets the help he needs, because he must have some serious demons holding him back. |

Top player in his pomp. Unfortunately due to his injuries we only saw glimpses of this. We were always a better team when Colback was on the pitch, sadly this was too seldom. |

All true, but unbeaten at home is a positive. Our home form is going to be critical for survival this season. |

Think we will come flying out of the traps and be 2 up in 20 minutes. We will miss several chances to put the game out of reach and Charlton will pull one back just before/ after half time. We will then spend the remaining 40 odd minutes camped in our own half as our lack of match fitness becomes increasingly a factor. Will we hang on... |

I think something similar happened to Gary Waddock. |

Pleased for Jimmy on a personal level as he is a decent bloke. But in the history of International football has there ever being a defender called up in the immediate aftermath of being part of a defence that conceded 7 goals ? |

I'm not disagreeing with any of this, but perceptions are funny. According to many on here, Anderson's 'legs were gone' at 30 |

As a person - top bloke. As a player - not going to add anything to a position we are over-loaded in. More pleased to see Hayden in as he might give a bit of steel to mid-field. But £2.8 M for a club that doesn't have a pot to pee in, is nonsense and makes a mockery of the 'project'. If we have (once again) ripped up the script as soon as we get a bit of cash, then go the whole hog and spend that 2.8 plus another 2.8 if necessary to land Ronnie and actually improve the team in an area that needs strengthening (not a huge fan of Morrison). A player that is comfortable playing out from the back, passing the ball forward and breaking the lines and will have a genuine re-sale value, even if Southampton have a significant sell-on clause included. |

Also a superb Irish rock band, fronted by the lamentedly now deceased Liam Reilly. And a decent sort of pin ball machine game |
