I like Jimmy a lot, both as a player as and as a person. I like his energy and his enthusiasm and his never-say-die attitude. All good attributes at any club, not just a lower-mid-table Championship club. Do I think he is anything like as good as Clive made him out to be in his end- of- year review? No I don't. Any half-decent winger, with a bit of pace can tie Dunne in knots. Fortunately for him (and us) there are not that many half-decent wingers in the Champ and his above-listed attributes were more than sufficient most games. Will he be missed? Absolutely. By his team-mates as well as us, because Clive is quite right when he says a POTY award from your peers is far more valuable than one from us. But he will on be partly missed for the reasons mentioned and partly because Wilkins is right, our expectations are probably the lowest they have been for a very long time. Football is supposed to be an enjoyable hobby, I see nothing enjoyable about what lies on the horizon for QPR, in the immediate future at least. Next year (without or without Dunne) looks like another grim slog not to finish in the bottom 5 at best. Worth remembering too, that Dunne has not signed a new contract, he has allowed it to expire, thereby allowing himself to leave for free. If, as expected, he leaves, he will be replaced, for better or for worse, and on we will go. [Post edited 25 May 23:14]

No idea. I would have thought Charlie Austin would have been in with a shout, first time around, but his 'second coming' would have pushed his stats out. [Post edited 25 May 22:54]

I always find it interesting that when popular players like BOS and Dunne run down their contracts it's the clubs fault. But when Manning or Paal do it they are disloyal. |

Got off to a flyer last week against Limerick, but couldn't keep it going. My bro-in-law a Dungarvan man and says they are overly reliant on Bennett. |

An unfair comparison I feel. God knows Connolly has his issues, but seems to make himself available to play unlike TR. I would really like to know what's going on with him (Connolly not Roberts) |

Imagine a team completely out of form for weeks and weeks, winning the Championship play-offs with a very late goal. Don't suppose that has ever happened before. |

What makes SU's defeat even more enjoyable is that they shouldn't be using VAR at all in a Championship match |

From the first game of the season his game was pretty simple to see, be on the move and get to the penalty spot. Several times in the first few games we had 3 on 2 breaks and he went to the penalty spot for Smyth to draw his man and tee him up only for Smyth to shoot into the first man. Several times his movement got him into position to score from set pieces only for him to miss the ball…. Watch his Lugano goals we signed him for, penalties or found on the penalty spot. Which doesn't explain either of his goals against Cardiff. The explanation could be that his game was starting to evolve and his injury came at just the wrong time. If he had got to ten goals last season he would have been our top scorer and his shocking beginning would have been forgotten. I believe he should get an early chance next season to prove himself and compete with Kelman for a starting berth with Frey and Kolli as impact subs and Lloyd &Bennie out on loan. |

, not two weaklings! If you think Kelman is a 'weakling', you clearly haven't seen the new bulked up version of him - built like a tank and operated as a lone striker against Div 3 defenders. The boy can handle himself AND score goals |

Connolly released by Milwall. There is a player in there somewhere. Got 8 goals in half a season for Hull. It would be a very QPR signing, he is fast running out of options. Seems to be trying to get his life back on track, yet can't find a club to keep him. Worth a punt? |

Never got the Luongo love. The fact that he didn't get a single minute WC game time for a very average Australia summed him up for me. |

The fact that he finished the reel waving to the crowd, is the clearest signal to me that it means 'good-bye' |

Yes quite the blitz first half. Cork at least made a fist of it second half, but damage done in first. |

I refuse to read school emails on a point of principal. My colleague in the room next door used to email me and then had to 'storm in' when she hadn't received a reply. Got a little bit hairy when the principal got involved, but I hung in there and now get physical visits or text message notifications which I don't mind. |

Probably because he is our most effective striker in the every other game he does play |
