Interesting to look back at this thread with comments about how poor Preston are,how we are unlikely to face worse teams and have to beat teams like this.
They’re currently 8th having beaten Leicester , Ipswich and only drew to Boro due to Boro hitting a 92nd minute equaliser. Given how poor we were meant to have been it currently looks like a reasonable point.
Left on 87 mins thinking I could at least get out the car park quickly and avoid the traffic. Unfortunately the car park was kept closed for bloody ages so would have been better off staying to the bitter end and at least seeing the goal.
Also surprising was when we left there were thousands of Cov fans already on their way home. If that was me I’d be there saluting the team until I got kicked out. But that souless stadium is absolutely in the middle of nowhere with terrible access so rather than their fans staying to milk it they start leaving with 10 mins to go. Pretty sad.
Highlight of the day was Burger King at Rugby Services
You can usually expect minimum 4 or 5 minutes extra time to take account of all the subs. But here the keeper must have taken 4-5 mins for his stud change. We then had Bartley (I think) sitting on the floor for half a minute and delays all the way back up the pitch. That game should have had at least 10 minutes added on, probably more. At the end of the day though we had one weak shot on target in 100 odd minutes so it probably didn’t matter. The sad bit was West Brom were average at best (even with 11 men and all that fire (power compared to us) and Nardi had nothing to do most of the match. If that’s the difference between play-off contenders and us then that’s a pretty fine line.
