this is a tough one though I think - cos what else are they supposed to say? If you read my few posts on here you will see that I'm no fan of the current regime but this is not one of the areas I am critical of. Anyone with eyes and a brain can see things ain't sweetness and light currently, but I really don't see what else the club could or should do on the official website |

maybe, maybe not. Perhaps we don't all understand the rules or etiquette of fan websites. If there's a handy pocket guide somewhere please point me in that direction. |

If you hand the keys of a football club to a kid with zero relevant experience, why on earth would you expect it to go well? No sane business person would make that call. But our beloved QPR have. There is no logic here. It is pure madness. The owners have ballsed this up to a level not seen before at Rangers - and that is really saying something. What we are seeing play out before us was predictable. Lamentable. Shameful. Embarrassing. When will it end? It would be great not to be a laughing stock, even if just for a short while. |

Great report of a horrific performance Jamie - must've been tough to endure but your writing is excellent. Thanks for taking the time and the skill to produce that. Best wishes to you Clive - I've enjoyed this site for years - from when I was living abroad as a great way to keep in touch with happenings at the club and now that I'm back here in the UK. Your writing is always insightful, knowledgable and frequently very funny - I'll miss it if you do step down on a more permanent basis. But as others have said, health is more important than anything else. And if some of this is down to nameless pr*cks on twitter then hopefully the support you get on here (not least on this thread) shows you how much you are appreciated , and is enough to outweigh any crap you get on that cesspit. Best wishes |

Have mentioned on here before but he lives locally to me and I see him around every now and then. He's always happy to have a chat - pub. gym, petrol station, whatever. Saw him in a boozer about a week after he left us and he was very pragmatic, and recognised that the Rangers fans love him as a player/bloke, and that the managerial experience shouldn't tar his reputation with the fans. I was gutted when he was appointed as our manager cos you could see exactly what would happen. Really happy for him that it's working out at Gillingham. Top man (as he himself always says) |

I know this one has been done to death BUT......surely professional footballers should be able to handle 2 games a week? They most certainly could before Sky invented football. Or has sports science, fitness, the pace of the game etc moved on so much that it's just not feasible for the players to play so frequently any more? Binning off the cup to protect league status is a ludicrous idea for a club like QPR in the first place in my opinion - and it hasn't exactly worked well for us as a general rule. Game's gone as many have said |

I find this to be a bit of dilemma tbh, not least cos most of my career has been in data, analytics etc and the old adage of more data = better decisions is generally true BUT - it does depend on who is making the decisions with said data and how they are using it. We are all familiar with Moneyball and how the gave the unfashionable Oakland A's a big advantage but these days I think it's all gone a bit far. If you look at the half time stats they put up on a game shown on Sky its largely meaningless. All this XG, passes completed nonsense is not for me. And if clubs are buying players based on that and not seeing what they can do in the flesh then they deserve all they get |

yep 100% agree. As a 58 year old I may be out of touch with the yoof and what's in vogue football wise today - but this is unforgivable. Really, really poor. The club hierarchy should be accountable for this. Caaarnts [Post edited 12 Aug 21:49]

well we can politely disagree then. What exactly have these kids gained tonight that is better than the club going on a cup run? i believe the answer to be f*ck all. You presumably have a different point of view |

football these days is so sh*te. When I was a kid, this would've been a big game and we would've played our strongest side and played to win it. Not having a go at the kids on the pitch, but this is rank. Utterly disgraceful. Cos yea, we need to rest everyone to make sure we can have a proper tilt at winning the Championship this year. Football = b*llox QPR attitude to cups is a farkin disgrace |

Totally agree with this. I went last night and whilst I’m not a massive fan I thought it was great. A lot of that is due to the crowd and the overall excitement. Oasis aren’t the best studio or live band by any stretch but that was a fantastic evening. Really really enjoyable and Im very pleased I went. I’ve been to hundreds of gigs over the years, big and small, but that was one of the very best for overall atmosphere. Had a few beers in the Green Man Wembley to warm up and the atmosphere in there was brilliant too. A real sense of anticipation on the air, and everyone just pleased to be there and totally enjoying themselves. So different to the last time I saw them at Finsbury Park in the early 2000’s - terrible venue, awful crowd full of bellends, and the band were dreadful. Gonna try and bag some more tickets for September |

Rugby union for me. I know it gets a bad press from some on here,.and I understand why. But going to England games, especially away in the 6 Nations is absolute class. I'm lucky in that one of my mates is well connected in the RFU so we can always get tickets. A big group of us do a 6 Nations weekend away each year and it is always brilliant. And there's some rugby thrown in as well :) When living in the US I did get right into the NFL. Followed the Giants who were and still are proper shite, but once I got to understand enough of the rules, and know some people who would host tailgating affairs, it was brilliant to go to games, even if the team were pony. I do still follow it now and think the Sky coverage is great [Post edited 31 Jul 14:57]

Thanks for taking the time to write up the notes Clive - I didn't watch it so this is a good way to get the low down. I was a huge Marti fan and have been quite critical of Nourry in the past. However, although talk is cheap and we need to see action (and wins on the pitch) I'm quite optimistic about some of what I'm hearing. Certainly the stuff around overall structure and essentially nobody being irreplaceable in that structure has to be a good thing. It would certainly take us away from the complete 180's we've done in the past when moving from one manager to the next. Obviously that can all be disregarded when wer'e in the bottom 3 after 10 games but for now I'll remain hopeful. And stupidly optimistic. |

Blimey - that's quite a reaction to what I saw as a throwaway line in an enjoyable and mostly lighthearted article. Someone rattled Beans' cage today? |

Hope not! Although, a few years back I saw the Chili Peppers there and that started at 6.45! Gig was over by 9pm and it was still light walking out |

hope you enjoy Linkin Park. A mate saw them at Hellfest last week and said they were great. Emily seems to be hitting her strides now and setttling right in. I would love to go to that tomorrow, but I'll be over in East London seeing Iron Maiden |
