Right about the Itchen North - it was viewed by the club as a 'necessary evil'. People forget the original plan for safe standing was to keep the away fans in the Northam with safe standing going from the Kingsland north to block 3 of the Itchen North.
As one of the ants at the back of the Chapel I can confirm that I and the others I go with are having a laugh and going to the football is fun again . Don't care if the Northam or players can't hear us, that's not the point. Three times yesterday the away support were rattled and silenced by us 20 ants whilst the Northam kept singing thier song about about us
Sunday was not the game for it - but you still have to suffer us singing the Woolston Ferry (all five verses), our version of (Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay, various Saints/JFK chants and our Wagnerian style four part harmony ditty covering the club's history
1. The Cavern Pub is awful. we did not last a pint in there. Though it was worth it just for franniesTache face.
2. It was brilliant to see so many nippers enjoying the occasion with their families . We were drinking in The Clock pre match and the buzz and atmosphere was quality.
3. We met the lad who preformed the poem post match the night before as one of our group had sorted him out a ticket. Lovely sound bloke.
4. No one around else would join in with our Adrian Heath chants.
I am heartbroken. Like franniesTache I know his old man well. Elijah was our friend, a sound lad who had a promising career ahead of him. He loved football and Southampton FC. Done many away trips with him including Newcastle and his three hour train quiz!
Affectionally known as Top Boy after his first trip to Fratton.
Looking forward to us mucking up the first semi final, heroic defeat in the next, no promotion, players leaving, Martin leaving as he realises the club is skint, the owners leaving, Northam wall being left half finished, The block our lot are in being empty apart from us singing about JFK to the sea gulls.
I am renewing my season ticket tomorrow. Up The Saints.
It was the same lot there last night - to be fair they should have all been kicked out for singing Debbie the steward, she's one of our own.
As Mr Tache says we heard that the club were going to clamp down on Block 1&2 and moved our seats.
The simple fact is there were two or three fights in there last season and the old bill and club want that stopped. One of our lot spoke to a steward last night and he confirmed that directive has come from higher up in the club.
There will be stewards in the aisle seats at the end of block 2. Anyone who had season tickets in those seats has been told to move - including being offered one seat in so they are sitting next to a steward
If any of the young SI clad 'lads' had some nouse they would now move somewhere else and start again.
One last thing - if only we had some form a supporters panel - a voice so to speak - who could campaign and push the club to confirm about safe standing
Spot on. My first check is if I can afford to renew if so then it’s always yes. I had a number of years where for financial and mental health reasons I could not go, so I am making the most of being able to at the moment and despite all the things that are wrong with football I still love going.
