Very interesting analysis of Eustace as a coach/manager. Seems to be similar to PL managers such as Dyche & Moyes who keep poor teams out of trouble, but can't kick on to get better teams to challenge at the top of the table.
I think this game hints strongly at a draw. I'll go for a Desmond.
I must admit I was one of many on here who thought he just wasn’t suited for the rigours of the Championship last season. Glad to say he has completely proved me wrong since August. Most impressive turnaround from an R’s player since Paul Furlong, who ended up being one of my favourite players to ever wear the hoops.
I'd like to echo the positive comments from you and Bosh67 on Luongo. I thought he did a great job when he was with us and after he left I was pleased to see him do well at Ipswich where he played a key role in the squad that was promoted to the Premier League. I hope he makes a full and quick recovery from the serious injury he sustained on Saturday.
Brilliant penalty save from Kelleher facing Ronaldo. Saved with his foot as he dived to the side with shot put down the centre. Let’s hope Ireland can hold out. Jimmy still on the bench.
From my view in the East Paddock I feared it could be a red card, so shocked to see it given as a drop ball. I think we dodged a bullet there.
Re Stoke’s time wasting I loved the chant of ‘You’re not injured anymore’ when the keeper suddenly got a shift on when they went 1-0 down having been time wasting all match up until then.
It was a bit of a sickener though to learn that the mob from Fulham Broadway achieved a Silver Award in The Fair Game Index report while we didn’t even manage Bronze. I always thought their dodgy financial practices would be picked up by independent regulators.
