Why do we say "Not on your nellie"? What could this nellie be and how does your nellie relate to my intense reluctance to proceed with whatever it is. Is it Shakespeare again? He seems to have his dabs on a lot of these old sayings, adages, idioms or whatever they are. It's closely related to " not for all the tea in China" and "not even for a big effing clock" I think... |

Would you rather have £1000 in your hand now or £5 a month in your hand, index linked, for rest of your life? This is broadly the question you need to ask yourself, it's quite straightforward to answer I reckon (I'm assuming that you will more or less spend the grand and not be re-investing it as there are tax rules about investing "tax free" money and then receiving additional tax-free money via say a ISA interest or additional pension contributions Ir you were still struggling to choose I'd just ask if you were confident of living well beyond age 76 and how you intend to fund your daily living costs when you were 80. If you can provide a sensible response to those questions I'd regard you as being perfectly positioned to make your choice. |

I do wait until final whistle before eviscerating the performance and calling for manager's head. Does make me laugh when some posters go early, say half-time, with their tirades and we come back in second half and end up drawing or even winning. |

It all comes down to how many points we have in May, in that context the dropped points against Wednesday and Oxford will always stick in my craw. But, 3pts away at Bristol is a fantastic result and going into an international break with an away win and in 6th spot is good for morale and general trajectory. I would really like the manager to now be bullish about our prospects, back himself and talk about fighting to reach the top spots and remain there. Fine if he wants to use the whole squad but ne needs to realise that players on a winning run don't want a "rest", they want to ride the wave. It might just be semantics but don't talk about fatigue or a challenging programme - talk about maximising the potential of our fantastic squad and seeking to subject our opponehts to a stern 90min test in every game. |

Not sure some posters realise how bleeding windy it is? Any high/long ball is fiendishly difficult to judge. That cross bamboozled our whole defence who seemed to believe it was badly overhit and going out. Is a day for sharp passing at ground level with maybe the odd welly into the air to cause mayhem. |

You don't get any sense of the kinetic energy, the movement, pace and ferocity on telly. One of the really obvious things at Wednesday was how much more energy they had in terms of closing down and breaking in transition. I'm not sure that really came over on telly, I think you needed to see the whole playing area in front of you to see it. For instance, Madsen was strolling around and allowed too many passing opportunities to be closed down simply by being too slow in his approach - he clearly needed more zip and urgency about him. I'm not sure this would have been so obvious on telly. |

Yes. I wish we had a Bannon or Brannigan in our team, a cussed deeply competitive player fixated on winning via any means possible. We seem to be a team of very shy and reserved players. Mbengue might be a headcase but he's not really a leader or someone who will set a tempo and mindset. We have midfielders who just float about.. we need a Shaun Derry m'lord. |

It's an open goal but nobody has taken a shot so I may as well stroke it home... He's become Wheel Chair. I noticed today the club switchboard still have "smallest chair in the club" quip and Uncle Albert as introductory prerecorded spiel. |

I can't be certain due to hearing difficulties and fact we seemed to have two separate pockets of singing at Hillsborough often singing over each other but... my defective ears picked up a song about Mbengue that seemed to use Zombie by The Cranberries as its basis. Bit of a dirge frankly - did I hear right????? |

We cannot get a nosebleed everytime we get a bit of momentum and have a simple(ish) game to win in order to get near promotion spots. It's not about the result on Saturday, it was the lack of resilience - being mentally and physically weak in this league is disastrous. I don't want to see a pattern where we win a few, climb the table, get excited, get altitude sickness, wilt, tumble down the table, win a few etc etc etc Just play what's in front of us and tot the points up irrespective of what the league table says. We know what they are capable of so it's up to JS to get their heads and attitudes straight. No more part-time performances will be tolerated. |
 | Forum Reply | Frey at 21:55 27 Sep 2025
I don't think it was Frey's fault today. He appeared to be instructed to play deep, virtually midfield. He deffo was not being a number 9 today. Yes, he looked cumbersome and ungainly but intricately linking-up play across the middle is not his forte - he needs to be up top bashing into CBs, scaring the GK and on-hand to poach things in the box.. all things he's good at. |

Cant watch it. The pace of play is sooooo slow, really gets on my wick. I can hack round my local munis in about 3hrs. Horrible fairways, shocking greens... got every excuse to piss about wondering about my lie or working out a putting green with tyre tracks across it BUT... I just crack on, slow play is frowned upon - its the golden rule. So, how these pros with caddies can take hours to get round an immaculate course is very very hard to understand. Buggers should all be put on the clock from the get-go with penalty strokes dished out for piss-taking and dithering. |

Frigging hell that Dembele is a master of it isn't he!? Comes on, looks like he's taking game by scruff of neck, even looked like he was demanding to take the penalty (get stuffed matey, bound to blaze it wide!) then roundabout 15mins into his stint he literally evaporates. AWOL. Gone. No sign of him. Thing is, this is rapidly looking like his M.O. for every game. Now, bit unfair to dig him out today as they were all off the boil except RND but once Chair and Poku get fit I feel Dembele could find himself well down the pecking order. |
 | Forum Reply | Owl be seeing them in League One Sheff Wednesday Vs QPR match Thread at 11:02 26 Sep 2025
I'm using the game as a comparator between Cifuentes and Stephane. Our last 2 games there under Marti were shocking low tempo shit shows. They doubled us last season too. I'm interested to see if we can make a better fist of things under JS. Given that JS has settled in and early the season wobble appears over with I'm thinking we will compete and get at them far more. Hopefully they will be complacent and expect the meek pussified QPR they're used to and thus get a nasty shock. I'll say another 1-3 for us. |

Yeah. Demos that ain't getting released I'm afraid.... Something will evolve or get picked up soon enough. Sort of like nicknames, you can't force them or choose them - they just "happen". Dunno if it'd be sacrilegious but given 40yrs have past it might be in order to annoint him with Stanley's born is the king anthem? |
 | Forum Reply | Saturday at Hillsborough at 16:33 24 Sep 2025
Nah, not interfering in their squabble. Don't like them much anyway, dunno if I,'m unlucky but I invariably run into their yob element every time I go there, always seems on the verge of kicking off outside afterwards. |
 | Forum Reply | King Richard at 16:17 24 Sep 2025
I'd say mostly Spurs.. There's a total lack of originality in vast majority of our catalogue - virtually all cover versions. |
 | Forum Reply | Who do you enjoy watching QPR play against at 21:24 23 Sep 2025
Probably Everton. Over decades, our away record against Northern teams is rubbish, even more so in the NW. But, we seem to always do alright against EFC, well in comparison to our record at say, Blackburn. I also enjoy our games with Cardiff (well, all bar one of them!). I don't like playing Cheltenham at all. |
 | Forum Reply | Bircham isn’t happy at 20:35 23 Sep 2025
I'm with Birch. It's football, not a panto. In terms of doing it at away games I wonder if locally the police, stewards and safety officers would feel it's possibly a bit inflammatory and seek to curtail things by shepherding and encouraging players off the pitch? Dunno really, has always been custom and practice to wander over to fans and give 'em a clap irrespective of the result I suppose - this OTT extended love-in stuff is new territory though. |
 | Forum Reply | QPR supporting family....since 1882...anyone knows? at 18:42 23 Sep 2025
I've always felt that stating 1882 as our start date was massively over-reaching and based on a few ruffians kicking a cabbage about the street. Weird how it was 1885 for virtually 100yrs until in 1981 when "evidence" presumably suppressed in a secret crypt came to light and the club declared our centenary (and associated cash-ins and merch opportunities) would now be in 1982. Ironically, they needn't have bothered cos the FA Cup journey gave us a big commercial boost anyway - wonder if they ever thought dang it, could've left it to 1985 really. |
