I'll be over the moon if he doesn't buy into the modern way of thinking that players will die of exhaustion if they're asked to play 90mins more than 6 times a month. Stoke really blew it today with their early and numerous changes - they lost all rhythm and momentum and petered out badly. JS played a tactical blinder today. |

I'd have Dembele ahead of Chair personally. But, competition for places is very welcome and I like the idea of no player being an automatic starter and having to earn their place by dint of playing well. |
 | Forum Reply | That Mbengue tackle at 19:55 20 Sep 2025
Is one of them tackles that looks like normal football contact in real time but looks like GBH when analysed frame-by-frame. I do like idea of ref doing nothing if they're not sure - too many refs use the decibel level of the player's scream as their yardstick nowadays instead of assessing what they saw. |
 | Forum Reply | Blackburn Game at 19:47 20 Sep 2025
Is now down to EFL to decide if result stands "as is" or game to be replayed. Bizarrely there's no precise formula, say if less than 70mins it's a replay. I think Morecambe have had two abandoned this season and EFL ruled one result stood and tge other game to be replayed. |

He's really settled in well and looks a class act. Be interesting to see where we are in January cos we seem to have a good few players (and maybe a manager) that will attract interest from bigger clubs. I suppose that's the downside of winning games and performing well as a team. |

Fair play to them, they're riding the wave and seizing the moment. I dunno what the motive of the Hollywood pair is, I guess it sits somewhere between a charitable and benevolent passion project and a hard-nosed calculated business opportunity. But, whatever the motivation, they appear to be going about it the right way and their approach and decision making seems very well executed and the the growth has been well managed. I'd hope our fan base could be slightly more circumspect about them - would any of us seriously complain if we had been picked for their investment and a similar trajectory ensued..... Welcome To The Bush if you will. Slagging them off and directing ill-will at any of it is an indication of small-minded jealousy and we're better than that I fee. Wish them well and hand them their arses tomoz is the best approach. |

This is small beer - seems like Roman used the wrong shade of brown envelop for the bungs. Self-reported and fully complying so a slap on the wrist and warning would be a sensible and proportionate outcome. It must be virtually impossible to sign a player without making some sort of skim off the top to a scummy agent or intermediary. All clubs must be at it to some degree - we've normalised the strange situation where the employer pays for a 3rd party to extract and extort extra money for their employee. Christ, imagine you were able to rope in Alan Sugar, Daniel Levy and Floyd Mayweather to attend your next pay and performance review at work with you. You tell your boss these guys require £200K each for their services and your boss says yeah, I'll cover that for ya.... Madness! It ONLY stacks up as being credible and defensible if the employee picks up the tab. |

I thought he and other S1 stalwarts had now been sidelined with diluted ambassadorial type roles now? Beneath the fluffy facade there's serious moneymen and investors pulling the strings now. Notwithstanding all that, I can't see us winning - we've been too erratic and it's like Saturday is 1st game of season for us. On the other hand Wrexham have been easing into gear and are in the swing of things and looking at game 5. I'll say 3-1 to them. But, I couldn't see us beating Charlton either so my predictions are garbage mostly. |
 | Forum Reply | Football's Financial Shame (BBC Documentary) at 17:36 10 Sep 2025
That "films" tax break must have been the biggest con out there - I can't believe Gordon Brown was that dumb in its conception and implementation. It just led to a load of bent financiers and crooks setting up productions with no intent of actually making a finished film and hoovering up all the investment and tax break money for themselves. Ironically I'm surprised there hasn't subsequently been a genuine film/documentary made about the whole fiasco |

Not casting any doubt on the integrity of folks on here, I'm thinking more widely really.. but would you actually be 100% confident buying a 2nd hand e-ticket in a private sale from a stranger? I mean it's just a a piece of coding, a barcode really - so easy to flog the same one 50 times over isn't it? I know paper tickets are not immune from fraud and shenanigans, but buying an "email" is really risky and I don't think I'd do it. If I did, I'd want to be first in queue when gates open in case there were dozens of "my" ticket heading to the game. |
 | Forum Reply | Our away support, and support in general.... at 18:52 7 Sep 2025
I'd say our away support is bang average for the Championship and has tailed off slightly over past season or two. There seems to be an invisible line just above Nottingham where our support starts falling off a cliff. The difference between numbers we take to Leicester and Sheffield is stark - lose at least 60% I'd say. We still seem to have literally 1000s who are scared to go to Millwall. I don't think we have properly sold our allocation and rammed that top deck ever. We definitely have never spilled into the lower tier. Nearly managed it 5ish years ago when we won 1-2 there but there were still empty seats in the corners, maybe 200 shy of full. Look, like all clubs we have a bunch of loyal supporters who go everywhere come thick or thin. We have loyal supporters who pick and choose their games and we have tourists who make an appearance for sexy games. Just a normal fanbase in my view, nothing wrong with that. But, depicting us as this massive loud army that intimidates the home team is a bit of exaggeration I feel. |
 | Forum Thread | Playing in Europe as an EFL club at 18:30 7 Sep 2025
I often muse about qualifying for European competition by winning the cup but how would it even work now they have these league stages of 7 games before February? I looked at our fixture list and although we have 6 clear midweeks during the euro-months, they don't all align. Even if they did, we'd basically be playing Sat-Wed*-Sat right up to the crammed festive period. *I say Wednesday but it's more likely Thursday so there'd be Saturday's switched to Sundays. How that would fit with Sky matches scheduled for 12:30 is anyone's guess. Basically it'd be an untenable logistical disaster if an EFL team got into Europe. Yes, I'm more likely to scoop the lottery and be struck by lightning whilst getting the cheque than see us qualify for Europe but that's not the point... the game's morphing away from us and we're getting shoved to the periphery and marginalised. |
 | Forum Reply | Wrexham away tickets at 15:39 29 Aug 2025
Yeah. For past two seasons our support in and around the 200 miles North mark has barely tickled 1000. We didn't take 1300 to either Sheffield club on Saturday 3pms last season and they're not as far and are better connected. Ditto with PNE in a 6-pointer at end of last season. This really does smack of a small club getting excited about visiting a sexy club and I don't know how I feel about that. |
 | Forum Reply | Wrexham away tickets at 12:23 28 Aug 2025
Just did a bit of digging.. You get 100 pts for buying an ST (with an extra 40 if you do it within opening loyalty window) You get 30 pts for buying club membership. So, 170 pts without going to a game outside W12 and 100 or so pts for going to 23 away games. Doesn't feel right to me, could be weighted a bit better? Still, you'll never please everybody I suppose. |

Pardon me for gegging in with little knowledge but the concept of streaming compressed/digitised music via a phone to really expensive kit seems a bit iffy? Fair do's if the input is decent quality and any transmission via "casting" does not suppress or reduce the quality but I just wanted to sense check that the hardware end of the set-up was proportionate to the feed/input it gets. |

How d'ya amass 3000 points?? What's the average reward per game, 5sh I reckon. So call it 100ish points max reward for going to every away game in a season. Gonna take 30 bleeding years to tot up 3000! Fair play to anyone who has done that but there can't be many who have surely. I remember being at Goodison on a Monday night before Christmas and I doubt there was even 75 of us there - would suggest that our absolute hardcore can't be more than a few hundred. |
 | Forum Reply | We had a perfectly good manager in Marti… at 22:01 23 Aug 2025
Marti is and was a chump and a phoney. Look at his record, it's garbage. But that's absolutely irrelevant in terms of this season. We need to address the corporate obsession with "data" that's delivering us shite football, shite footballers and clueless foreign managers. The glaring hole in Nouury's masterplan is fact that all these bright young prospects will be brought up as as losing pussy-footballers with no idea how to win a game of football. They will be shell-shocked PTSD zombies fit only for the scrapheap in 3 years. The whole concept of growing and nurturing footballers is underpinned by playing them in an attractive winning team. We are massively failing on that front. |
