If we are serious promotion, I hope the board rejects bids for our key players. |

The forum could run a competition on how long they will last, before they are sacked. |

I think we should wait for the club to announce it. |

I could see Hobson and Reid at the Dale next season, some on the Oldham forum are wondering if Hobson turned the biffo's down and as a deal lined up with another club. |

I read an article somewhere that gave the impression that most of the EFL teams are in favour of the 3 UP system, which considering the number of former EFL teams in the NL may be no surprised to many. I agree, we need a good GK, a good CD, a tough tackling midfielder and two big strikers (who don't get forced off the ball with ease, like what happened with Mitchell and can score!) and for McNulty to learn from his mistakes. I think we have the potential to be a play off and even a promotion team, but the right recruitment is essential. |

I am unsure about the signing, but I will reserve my judgement, but hopeful he will be good enough. But one question is why did Flyde let him go? I hopefully McNulty does not repeat the same mistakes of signing lightweight players, I feel we some big strong players especially upfront, players like Rodney and Bird, who can dominate the oppositions defence. |

There is also Ben Barclay, 6ft 2" released by Carisle United can operate as a CD or defensive midfielder and was born in Manchester. |
 | Forum Reply | NL playoff final at 12:18 24 May 2025
It is about time the playoff final was played at a neutral venue, like Villa Park for example. The atmosphere in a half or third full stadium like Wembley, compared to the stadium mentioned above would be totally different. You have to feel for the Southend and even the Biffo fans for the chaos caused to them. [Post edited 24 May 12:22]

I wonder if Mitchell decided that he did not want to stay and so refused a contract. I see Luton have let go Dion Pereira, look very good whilst on loan at Dagenham. |
 | Forum Reply | FGR v Southend at 05:30 22 May 2025
It will be interesting game, I would like to see Southend promoted, but as we saw, Southend defensively are poor and I think Oldham will take advantage of this fact, and sadly MM has the experience to ensure they do not make the mistakes we did. |

I think Mitchell will be offered a new contract, but will turn it down and move on, Henderson retirement is sad and maybe we get Bird back on loan. I would consider signing Alex Reid from the Biffo's at Wealdstone this season he scored 16 goals in 26 games, his record at the national league level is about 1 goal in every 3 games and he is out of favour with Micky Mellon. One thing we need a mixture of technical footballers and big physical players, like Rodney, sadly we have to many light weights in the squad. |
 | Forum Reply | Should he stay or should he go? at 20:52 16 May 2025
I agree with many of the comments about McNulty making the same mistakes, not only in key games, but in many league games as well and the fact he as not learnt from the mistakes is worrying. Yes he is quite inexperienced in that, he is only into his second year of football management and it is the same with Kevin Gibbons, and that may be a factor in the management teams decisions. But as also highlighted, they should be learning from their mistakes by now, so I would Keith Hill back in a form of Director of Football role to run all aspects of football at Rochdale and act as a mentor to McNulty at the same time. I would also like McNulty to take responsibilities for his decision making, last night he repeated the same tired excuses. |

Matty Lund is 36 in November, but would you sign him on a 1 year contract? |
 | Forum Reply | Southend (H) at 08:11 11 May 2025
As of yesterday and accordingly to the Southend Forum, they have apparently sold over 1,050 tickets so far for the game and this may figure will potentially increase. My worry is when we have a good gate, we are usually rubbish. |

Did I read it like, Jack Kingdon as been let released by Man Utd, if so I would sign him up asap. Another few I would consider is Ged Garner (Barrow) and Matty Daly (Harrogate) and Joel Coleman (Bolton). I would be unsure about Luke Matherson. Harrogate have let Stephen Dooley go as well, [Post edited 9 May 18:34]

I agree with the team selection, I would give Bird no more then 45 minutes. I would also add Subs: O.Kelly, Bailey, Henderson, Adebayo-Rowling, Allarakhia, Beckwith, Gordon. This would allow us to rest Barlow, Rodney, Gilmour, Ebanks-Landell, and Barrett (and possibly East, if he is nearly fit) for the play offs. Is there any regulation for us to put a stronger team with Braintree in theory at risk, yes it would take some unique for them to be relegated with the goal difference them have. I would offer Ferguson a new contract, because he is a decent defender and I would like wise given new contracts to Barlow (2 year) and Hogan (1 year), he may even persuade Scott to sign for us . We would all love Henderson to put retirement off for one more year, hope the board will at least try. I think Mitchell will get offered a new contract, but will he sign, in that he may get offers. I would also offer Brad Kelly may get a new contract as well, Somebody as posted on the forum that Corey Edwards and Oscar Kelly have been given new contracts, I hope this correct. |

Today as been typical of to many games under McNulty, no passion, no urgency, over passing off the ball and trying to walk the ball into the area, why can't they just get the ball into the box, instead they pass it sideways and allow the opposition to get organised. This is down to Jim and his belief in that style of football, to the extent he cannot change the teams style of football. It makes me wonder, that he thinks it is entertaining to watch, when it is about as exciting as watching paint dry. |

It was a good win and I thought we create enough chances to win the game comfortably, especially at the start of the second half. I agree with the comments about Mitchell, he seems to lack the ability to dominate defences or run into spaces, I wonder if he is lacking confidence at the moment in that he is no longer an automatic starter. |
