Ramshackled R’s end three-game week on a bum note at Derby – Report

A fair report - poor game between two teams that didn't play very well, and poorly refereed.

Ramming up the M1 - Match Thread

Agree with all of this especially the bit about the ref. There was another occassion where the ball was played forward to towards the left corner and the defender just hauled Saito down about 15 yards from the ball, nothing given. In the 2nd half, the Nardi collected the ball and looked to release it quickly, the Derby number 6 basically shoulder charged him in the chest flooring Nardi. Ref did give a free kick, but it should have also been a yellow card, but none shown. Derby defender just jogged back with a big grin on his face.

The game reminded me of West Brom away last season where we went a goal behind and the home side just set about wasting time and taking people out knowing the ref wasn't up to it.

And the whole episode with Carlton Morris being subbed, ref told him to go off at the side of the pitch, Morris walked off and handed the armband over, then walked back on and despite then getting a yellow card, walked slowly across the whole pitch, high-fiving his teammates and wasting a load of time which surprise, surprise, didn't get added back on.

I noticed in the first half that Saito did something similar a few times when RND had the ball, instead of hugging the touchline and give RND a wide option, Saito ran inside.

Seems like a deliberate tactic to me

What a goal that could have been by Jimmy !!

I did fear that either Cook or Dunne would get a 2nd yellow, as often refs seem to even it up when they've sent a player off

Why would you need a Vendor Part Number?? Or do you mean the Volunteer Physicians Network??

Of course you could mean the ventral posterior nucleus which is a part of the thalamus that relays sensory information to the cerebral cortex, playing a crucial role in processing touch, body position, pain, and temperature.

From coast to coast Swansea roll call

Back in 1997, I went to Huddersfield v QPR FA Cup replay with a couple of Hudds fan, so sat in the main stand with them. Sat on my hands for the whole game and somehow managed not to cheer when Macca scored a 90th minute winner - I just stared at the floor and covered my face to hide the joy on my face.

I've never done that again- even if I've gone to a game with friends who support the opposition, I always gone in the QPR end.

So basically, you have one view, lots of other people (and seemingly the club/manager) have another. No real need for all the insults (in my opinion).

It does sound a bit like the fitness dept wanting to say, we've got the players fit while the manager doesn't think they are fit enough and ready to be part of the match squad. We've been told a couple of times already that players will be back soon and they haven't come back yet.

Agree that it isn't a good look and suggests that there could be some level of conflict behind the scenes between the different depts. A bit worrying, if you ask me, bearing in mind that our last manager had issues with the fitness dept.

Morrison is only 22 and has just 65 senior appearances to his name. Think he will become an important player for us. If he can end this season with 30+ appearances, then I think he will show big improvements next season.

The penalty shout in the 2nd half for a foul on Saito - looked like the defender fouled Saito and then cleared the ball with his hand.

Even Sky showed it once a few minutes later to say it should have been a penalty although they conveniently didn't mention it again in their aftermatch review/Wall w@ntfest.

Thought Alex Neill gave a much fairer assessment of the game than Sky did - he admitted they didn't play well in the first 35 mins and even said they didn't deserve to be leading 2-0 at half time.

Disgree with 2 of your points - RND is the best left back we have and Morrison is decent. Think at CB when Mbenque doesn't play, we lack pace.

Agree that Frey and Kone isn't working so far and it would be interesting to see what Kolli can do in partnership with Kone if Burrell can't play from the start.

As the article says at the end, it could be short term pain for long term gain, if it get rid of the current owner and allows some-one else to buy the club out of administration.

Sounds like it will be a tough game on Saturday.

One comment made me smile about Alex Neil: "His commitment to the club was evidenced by already signing a new contract over the summer."

He was committed to Sunderland before he jumped ship to Stoke.
