Re watch final half minute, just seen it on Twitter, very few if any of those headshots landed, Parker was tired not hurt, Wardley had summoned one last attack, Wardley v Uysk is a far bigger pay day than Parker v Uysk, Fosters been at it for years, saw first hand in Manchester when Groves put Froch down, to buy time Foster walked Groves to his corner, he gets picked for a reason, Does he stop the fight if Wardleys in that position, no chance, imo. |

Great fight ruined by Howard Foster, bent as, Wardley was missing those last few shots, Adam Smith yelling Parkers not throwing back, Parker was, a fully co-ordinated Frank Warren stitch up, Yardley superb, deserves his chance against Uysk, and like Chisora did, could really trouble Uysk and has the power to stop him, Fair play to Wardley but always makes me laugh when British Boxing accuses other countries like Germany of being bent. |

Gazza, Facts & the truth still matter in some places and hopefully on this forum, so to put your comments in context: Limited club teams - QPR 15 pts, Bristol City 13pts, Charlton 12pts, Birmingham 12pts None of them get a regular game - Kelman 9 appearances / 0 goals; Armstrong 8 appearance / 0 goals; Dykes 8 appearances 2 goals Dykes was originally behind Stansfield & Kyogo in the pecking order @ Birmingham, both of whom have cost £ 10m, so fair play to Dykes as a £1m player he now seems to be ahead of £ 10m Kyogo, if not Stansfield. I agreed with selling Kelman for £3m as believe he's had his Conor Washington League 1 hot-streak, I could be wrong. Armstrong was great business for us for £ 2m and I agree with you was a very very limited footballer, I often stood in disbelief as R-Block etc called for Armstrong to come off the bench and applauded him onto the pitch, playing as a lone striker, wtf. I disagreed with selling Dykes for £1m as thought without a target man we would get relegated, fortunately Kieran Morgan & Jimmy Dunne stepped up and we escaped what would have been a ruinous relegation to League 1. |

Decent cameo last night, Seems our Back 5 with Varane's work-rate gives us the opportunity to play Madsen in a free role where he can get our Front 4 going, Two CDMs last night without Varane & Madsen left us unable to break the lines, Think everyone on seeing that line-up when walking to the ground was thinking heh wtf, we played to their strengths last night, never a good gameplan. |

You could well be right, just like to see us try it so we know one way or the other. If it worked, his value could double, which given his age, would be good. |

I know he's 6ft4 but maybe not duck at the far post....I'm jesting Gazza! |

As Chair loses that bit of pace needed to leave Defenders standing I'd love to see him evolve into that Bannan type of playmaker who can dominate games from deep, making him harder to shackle. |

Gazza, Re-read my post, re-read Northern's following post about Mark Robins comments, I said I think Stephens has drilled our defenders at times to clear the ball long behind the opposition defence for Burrell to chase & press, Hence as another poster noted the switching of Kone to the 10 when out of possession and he's back making important blocks on the edge of our penalty area whereas Burrell keeps the high line, Dunne has two good feet and rather than clear the ball out of play for a throw in to buy time & reset, he seemed to deliberately play it over the top for Burrell to chase down, given his renowned pressing, Fair play to the Manager playing to Burrells strengths and backs up the stats saying how quickly we transition the ball from back to front. |

100%, fairly sure Dunne didnt whack that long ball over the top to Burrell at Wrexham by chance, Reckon Stephan knows Burrell keeps 2 defenders pinned in their own half and our Backline are told go long into that space and let Burrell bring us up the pitch. |

Similar to our guv'nor, I took to watching Madsen in games to understand why games were passing him by, I'm presuming this is ok with you? The amount of times he was unavailable to receive a pass was quite eye opening and probably why Jimmy Dunne gave him both barrels as recently as Charlton at home, That changed Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday away is the next test to see how much he really wants the ball and to effect games, lets hope Saturdays improvement continues. |

FFS? Some goals, like Kone's strike do not merit awarding an Assist, similar to Burrells, If anyone deserved the Assist it was Vale for showing, opening them up with the best pass I've seen this season or Conor Coady for what I think is the worst defending I've ever seen (turning his back on Kone, now that deserves a FFS) 12 months in and Madsens turned in his 1st 90 minute performance, let's hope that continues. |

Yes I do go to games (home & a fair few away) and it'll take a little bit longer to totally erase that non-performance at Watford, Regards those last few games last season where he was apparently much improved, I thought he had an acceptable first 20 minutes at Oxford and then just disappeared, so we all see things differently, Now Saturday was the first time I have seen a consistent level of performance for 90 minutes, hopefully Saturday I see another, and many more to come, I agree he's now making covering defensive runs and at least jumping for headers, which, lets face is, is the absolute bare minimum we should expect, My previous frustration was'nt necessarily his lack of running, heading or tackling (thats not his game), it was I felt he was'nt showing for the ball from the defence (still an issue for me as Varane is then doubled up on) and was hiding, I want to see him demanding the ball and not pointing away from himself as he did for the Dunne to Vale pass at Wrexham, only becoming involved in that move when Vale flicked the ball into his path, Too often he is'nt in a position to receive a pass but there was a marked improvement in this regard on Saturday. Bannan is the bench-mark for Madsen and hopefully he comes out on top on Saturday. |

Your're half right tho, I did Google it and £7.5k a week sounded about right, could be wrong mind. |

Read my post again, you'll see why I did'nt respond. |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen at 19:47 23 Sep 2025
I initially thought this hence my frustration with his inability to 'show' for the ball from our defenders in the way say Bannan does, It was clearer on Saturday that Varane is the CDM or 6 and seems solely tasked with taking the short pass when we play out from the back, Madsen is more advanced playing as the 8, Varane has a lot of responsibility in this set up and it was noticeable when he went off how we struggled to transition the ball out of defence, as Hadyn is, like Field, a more traditional defensively minded CDM, Madsen with Vale, Saito, Kone & Burrell in front of him has plenty of options, hence improved performance. |

10's as a broad term to describe our attacking players who are'nt out & out forwards like Kone & Burrell, |
 | Forum Reply | Madsen at 17:26 23 Sep 2025
Classy post, best leave the funnies to Disco & Boston heh, Lets put it another way, if I was Ruben handing out the pay packets every month for the last 12 months and I'm giving this bloke £30k a month, I want to give him the feedback that Jimmy Dunne did the other week, I get we're all euphoric after a great home win, I get Northern scored him a 7 in his Match Report, Likely his highest match day rating after his first consistent contribution over 90 minutes, But given his free role and our minimal expectations of him when we are out of possession, that level of performance is the minimum I would expect week in week out of a player we paid that money for. Vale & Saito have set the standards in goals & assists for the 10's and lets hope Madsen can consistently do that too, starting @ Hillsborough, a big pitch that takes some covering. |

Frey is a strange one, I thought it was a huge and unnecessary risk we took in relying on him last season as our 1st choice Centre Forward due to his inability to win headers with his back to goal & lack of mobility to press opposition defences, attributes last years team needed from our Centre Forward, This season however with a very different style of play, with 10's / Wingers who get the ball into the box early, Frey has proven with his good movement in the box there's goals in him, If the price is right, a good understudy to Kone. |

I agree, We really struggled to transition the ball out of defence on taking Varane off, I thought this led to a couple of rushed clearances that nearly cost as did their open goal miss as Dunne needed cover on his side, Sometimes it's better to be lucky than right, JS seems to have rode his luck in the last few games with his lack off or counter intuitive substitutions hopefully his run continues. |

Lads got end product, quality. And I was more in the do we really need another diminutive 10 camp, wrong on that one. |
