How did Madsen play yesterday?

So it is Vales role to drop into that space to play through ball to Madsen and....

Madsen has won back most possession in the team this season...

Let's agree to differ...and that's not irrelevant sarcasm, whatever that is these days.

I have you right on those points,

Kone is not a grafter like Burrell and he won't see the like of Conor Cody's defending again in his lifetime, but boy does that lad know where the goal is,

Teams only performed against the expected weaker teams this season so the Managers maybe been bailed out by Kone's finishing & now Burrells,

Bringing on Frey & Dembele to see the game out before bringing Field & Hadyn on was not exactly Warnock'esque.

Manager still learning this League and his players, let's hope he's a quick learner.

Brilliant, Lower 6th Form Psychology Studies heh.

Hopefully with your positive thinking we'll get our £3.5m quid back sometime soon.

Gazza,

Not to over labour the point but it was actually Vale who showed for the ball, and this is the courage I talk about,

Dunne receives the ball, Madsen points telling Dunne to pass to Morrison, turns his back and moves away,

Vale however drops into the space and then plays a superb pass on the half turn so to speak and opens Wrexham up,

Madsen then does what he is good at when he finds himself in space which is play a good pass the way he is facing,

What Vale does though is what we need Madsen to do, drop into that space, play the ball on the half turn and open teams up the way Vale did,

The roles should have been reversed here and Madsen should have been playing that pass to Vale,

In this instance he didn't find space to take the ball instead telling Dunne to pass to Morrison, which was a to no where sideways pass, we don't break the line or score that goal,

I cannot see Championship teams giving Madsen the time & space he needs to play his game,

Vale however might be the player we thought we were buying in Madsen.

Let's see, either way we have a very interesting & capable squad this season.

Try supporting the players?

Is this aimed at me or Madsen?

Maybe that what's our Team Captain was yelling at Madsen full-on after Saito's goal v Charlton?

Lowest number of touches of all our players v Wrexham, for our so called ball player & creator?

Can you imagine his running stats?

How about he supports Varane and the team and earns the wages we've paid him to date?

I get Madsen is a project and we are trying not to devalue our investment, but with this squad, we have higher priorities.

No, that's ridiculous behaviour

But just because we win doesn't mean you can't post on a forum to disagree with other posters who come on and say well he made a simple 10 yard pass so job done,

Hadyn played maybe 10 minutes, played the best pass of the match (if Jimmy didn't mean that long pass) but would we accept him plodding round for another 80 minutes doing jack all?

I want Madsen to show for the ball like Bannan @ Wednesday does & Woods when @ Brentford did, I want him to run games,

Is that too much to ask of our £3.5m star signing?

Varane & Hadyn have shown in our last 2 games they have passes to unlock defences,

But they run, head, tackle & most importantly show for the ball.

Great report and agree Burrell just edged MoTM, his quick reaction, desire & bravery created that 1st goal too, looks a bit ungainly but could be a very effective player at this level.

Not being contrary but I'd give Kone & Burrell the credit for that win more than the Manager,

The stats will tell us Dunne & Madsen both got Assists yesterday, in the same way they told us Coventry should have only scored 1 Goal against us, our eyes told us different.

We've beaten two promoted teams who are adjusting to the Championship and look poor sides, let's hope we can beat the better teams too.

Someone posted that when Frey came on it looked like someone's Dad joined in the game,

I think that says it all.

100% agree, neither were goal creating Assists, they just happened to be the last pass before Kone & Burrell produced 2 superb individual goals.

I've seen many players put in superb individual performances when the team has been well beaten,

Just because Burrell & Kone won us that game yesterday doesn't mean all players in thd team contributed to a great win, as we still carried Madesn,

We've set the bar so low with our biggest money signing were now raving if he makes a 10 yard pass forward or the ball hits him,

Yet again lacked courage to show, take & hold the ball,

We will face much tougher tests than Charlton & Wrexham and need to develop a coherent attacking style of play, preferably with 10 outfield players contributing,

If we're giving Madsen an Assist for that pass yesterday, the bar is very low.

Like you do, Cifuentres picked an 18 year old Development Squad player ahead of him last season,

A player on £300 a week who was getting the Central Line to & from the game,

Varane played a superb no look pass to Dembele the other week which Dembele should have scored from but fluffed,

Madsen played a 10 yard pass your elderly Auntie would make, Kone scores a worldy & Madsen gets credited with an Assist, laughable.

Madsen should thank Kone & Burrell for another abject performance yesterday, Saito showed him yet again what courage in possession is all about.

Simple 10 Yard Pass to Kone which he likely took from a 0.1XG to a 1.0XG with a side step & Yeboah type finish,

Other than that, seriously did nothing, a passenger yet again,

Two worldies covered his non performance, even Gazza would struggle to dig anything positive out of that 90 minutes.

Two decent seasons engineered a move away which cost the club a lot of money,

Undermined team morale when staggered into Ellerslie Stand but summoned enough energy to get into the PV for after match pints,

I have no anger towards him other than one absolutely dire performance at Peterborough where he could barely muster a jog,

I just find it odd so many cannot see his no 1 priority is himself and mugging off gullible QPR fans came easy to him.

I am saying the publicising of this was very timely,

Similar to Gregg Wallace's recent autism diagnosis,

If you have skeletons in the closet and you're wanting to maintain or get a career on the media its very convenient & helpful to be able to pin poor behaviour on something that elicits sympathy,

Similar to the...'It's not the person I am today'...get out of jail card.

Really genuine decent people like Jamie Mackie come across as they are on TV, can't see Austins fledgling media career lasting as he's the opposite to Mackie.

ADHD diagnosis was very convenient,

Coincided with trying to build a post playing career in the media,

Cynics might suggest his Agent / PR Advisors recommended a timely diagnosis as would sanitize a number of previous transgressions in his past which could prohibit building a new career in the media,

A bit like getting yourselves diagnosed as a sex addict when your Mrs finds out you've been playing away!

Won't listen to the podcast as just think the blokes a bit of a wrong un.

Interesting stats Brian,

It's a shame there's no stat to measure character, integrity or mugging off your club and it's fans,

2 out of those 3 absolutely rode us for fools.

With Hadyn & Field holding the flanks, Varane is our box to box Midfielder,

Varane is improving game by game, has immense desire, athleticism, can tackle, head, beat a man and passing has improved massively as no look pass to Dembele on Saturday showed,

You could be right and it could be our conditioning, but I thought we faded after 20 minutes, so it could be a combination of factors,

I get we are bedding in new players with a new Manager but the big stand-out for me was how few players were really showing for the ball, which again Burrell & Saito did when they came on and it made a huge difference,

Kone's finish for his goal and clever dummy for Smyth's were huge positive's, and once we build our attacking play around him we should be a much better team.
