Adam Armstrong gets it, I would think; and possibly Downes. I just hope the game goes well for Bazunu, who probably gets it more than anyone. The last thing he needs is for both sets of fans to be referring to him as Agent after the game. |

I went to all our games in Euro 2000. Was stood in our end near Westwood for the Romania game, and weirdly near Angus Deayton for the Germany game. That Germany game, our stand was literally shaking with all the noise our lot were making, and I could remember seeing the floodlights moving. Keegan commented on it after the game. |

I went to the last two World Cups in Qatar and Russia. Done various other jaunts for away games and Euros, but those were the furthest. Quite a lot of Saints do follow England more regularly than me. I don't have enough caps entitlement to go to games like the game in Belgrade on Tuesday. |

Greetings. I just wish I had better memories of Saints in Denmark. Midtyjlland away was a bit of a horror show. What do you make of our new Danish full-backs?? |

How many of those impacted on the economy? You started well, but the longer you continued, the less relevant it seemed to be to the mess we are in now. |

Early National Express bus from Bournemouth due to no trains. In Southampton for just before 9.00am. Probably grab a breakfast somewhere in town, then off to Five Rivers for their 10.00am opening. Good luck to fans if they're doing the pyro thing. It's not for me, but it looks impressive if they get a good crowd doing it. |

Bump. 5 Rivers have announced that they will be open from 10.00am, and also after the game. Would be good there after the game if we win. Was stellar there after the play-off win against West Brom. |

Three more months of chronic uncertainty to come then. It will make the transfer window look like a table top sale. One thing is for sure; they will hammer employers again. It is the politics of cowardice and makes absolutely no sense in terms of employment, prosperity and generating the growth which is essential to repay the interest on our horrific national debt, let alone repaying the actual crippling debt itself. Fun times. |

Bump. All seems to have gone rather quiet on this. I do hope they don't get away with it. Again. |
 | Forum Reply | Players out of contract. at 11:26 3 Sep 2025
It's the flip side of the Bosman ruling. Players wanted to be able to leave at the end of their contract without any transfer fee being payable. But in reality it's only the good out-of-contract players who will be snapped up. Those players who aren't as good find themselves a lot less in demand than they would have been pre-Bosman. |

It was beyond painful. As usual, we arrived there late from the train, but in reality not arriving at all would have been preferable. |

Oh, I totally agree. I just am worried that the game isn’t coming at a good time for us. Still has a tough call as to how many of the new signings he puts in, and it’s a big risk to put in a load of players who haven’t played in the Championship before, let alone the bear pit of a heated derby. It’s just my way of preparing myself for the day not ending in huge celebrations. And massively hoping my fears are misplaced. |

I would take a point now against the Skates. Increasingly worried about this game. Their signing of Chaplin to play alongside Bishop and Murphy gives them a genuine threat up front and I struggle to see us keeping a clean sheet. First goal often so crucial in these games. They’re not a great side, but they are competitive, and I fear their game is more suited to a derby than ours. I just wish this game was a month or two later in the season. |
 | Forum Reply | Did we sign Leo Scienza ?. at 14:57 2 Sep 2025
I’m not so sure Scienza is there to put crosses in, in the same way that Fellows is. I think Scienza is a bit more of a goal scorer. |

Agreed. We have strengthened in positions which are not the spine of the team. If signing wingers means an end to three CB's, I'm all in favour of it. However that is conditional on us having a strong spine to the side. |
