Jones was Ankersen’s choice. Selles was Semmens’ choice. Martin was Wilcox’s choice. I just hope it isn’t bloody Parsons’ turn to have the choice. He has ruined everything else he has touched. |

Where are we at with these? I think we should demand the publication of the pledges. I know I can count on the support of FranniesTache on this key initiative. [Post edited 17 Dec 23:41]

It is all about reference points, as Ankersen so proudly advised, when describing what drew them to the magnificent appointment of Nathan Jones. |

Of course, when our away fans had such a hellish journey to and from that game, where the oppo keeper didn’t have a single save to make, who wouldn’t begrudge our brave warriors some richly deserved liquid refreshment? |

It was remiss of me to overlook that Corberan could hardly have been expected to get the better of Saints, when we had Super Sekou running riot like prime Drogba in both the games at The Hawthorns. |

He's done pretty well everywhere he has been despite having no money to spend. He achieved miracles at Huddersfield in almost getting them promoted. You're right about the results against West Brom, though I thought we were lucky to beat them at home in the League, and we could easily have lost at their place in the play-offs. |

I have always rated Steve Cooper. Thought it was utter madness for Leicester to sack him, but he seemed to be tainted by his connections to Forest. He’s an excellent manager. He also fell out with Vestergaard at Leicester, so he gets a double thumbs-up from me. |

It’s quite surprising how young he is given how long he seems to have been around in the game. He’s only 35. Makes me feel rather old….. |
| Forum Thread | It’s going to be Lallana, isn’t it? at 08:10 16 Dec 2024
The moment I saw him suited up at the play-off final was when I feared this day would come. Not as if he is ever fit enough to play. Cheap option, no compo to pay. Ticks a lot of boxes for the brainless board. Sigh. |

I actually rather liked the Scousers orchestrated protest 2 or 3 years ago of all walking out early during a game. Quite a powerful visual message, and not violent so that the board couldn’t just say it was a violent mob minority. |

I know an awful lot of ST holders who are giving Spurs a miss this Sunday. The kick-off time isn’t great, but it would have been full if we had a team and a style of playing that fans had faith in. But people are beginning to vote with their feet. [Post edited 13 Dec 16:42]

I don't really get this. If the plan was relegation, why spend nearly £100 million on new players in the summer? I don't see that it's a financially viable business in the medium to long-term as a Championship club. It's why there are so many sackings in the Championship. Clubs are desperate for the holy grail of the Prem. Sports Republic have not been guilty of under-investing in the club's squad. They have however been guilty of very poor recruitment, not replacing Wilcox, and making unnecessary changes to the ground which have made the atmosphere worse. |

Why is that funny? It's a completely sensible idea. It's not exactly threatening mass demos on the pitch, but it's a start. |
