I can still remember all the words of Lipstick on your collar. |

I really don't know why people are frothing at the mouth over pre season friendlies with experimental teams and newcomers feeling their way. If we lose the first league game 4-0 (as has happened in the past) that is the time to start wailing and gnashing teeth. |

I just carried out a minute inspection of the driveway and patio and other antsy places and not a single ant to be seen. My wife won't let me kill wasps because she says they are expert pollinators. Fortunately she has no empathy for ants since they got into the sugar. |

Without a doubt our finest ever manager. He had no real history as a coach/manager. Yet he brought us Givens, Bowles and Thomas and took us from middling second division to a real force in the first division. RIP Gordon and thanks for the wonderful memories. |

I'll second the pigeon thing. Fat ugly useless bastards who do nothing but peck around on the lawn and fornicate as if they've just invented sex and suddenly startle me by taking off en masse. Any recipes greatly appreciated, although they're probably classed as protected species. |

I envisage we will be the last European country with a monarchy. The other European countries with monarchies seem to manage without the pomp circumstance and flummery. Would anybody here actually be prepared to bow or curtsy? I can safely say that nobody in my family has been a nazi or a paedophile. |

There was a striker in 3rd division South. in the 50s called Arthur Longbottom. He was inevitably known to the opposition as Shorthouse. |

If Cifuentes really is the bees knees and so much better than most of the candidates being discussed, how come he hasn't been snapped up by another club? Perhaps he's not quite as wonderful as some people seem to think. |

Does the Wicker Man qualify as horror? The ending was terrifying. Has the added bonus of Ingrid Pitt in the bath! |

Indeed virtually forgotten. Hillsborough is always in the forefront but this was almost as tragic and is very rarely referred to these days. The chairman, bewigged Stafford Heginbotham seemed a slippery character. |

Quite apart from being totally ott I'd say the original post is borderline libellous. |

Given that Cook is our most highly paid player by some distance and showing his age I can't see any scope for renewing him. |

Gerry Francis. Most complete footballer we have ever had. |

Thinking back to 1958 the whole world supported Man U after Munich. I remember bursting a gut in the school cross country so I could get home to watch the semi final replay against Fulham. Sadly most of the affection has been squandered following recent shenanigans. I also remember watching George Best's abject performance on New year's day 73 when we won 3-0, his last game. Quite frankly, he just couldn't be bothered. |

Apparently Reginald Christie, the famous serial killer of 10 Rillington Place was a QPR fan. When he was arrested he was found to be in possession of a QPR badge. More our style I guess. |

A great Motown fan. I thought he was the best of the Radio Caroline DJs in that exciting era. |
