Thought Madsen looked very involved myself with and without the ball, MOM for us. RND and Mbuengue did well too, but most of the players that have done so well the last 3 games seemed well off form for some reason yesterday - Saito, Kone and Vale in particular. Hope we can get to where we were Wednesday.

Anybody know if Hamer could do a job for us? He seems experienced but has not played for a long time.

I thought Madsen had an excellent game with and without the ball, he set up our best attacking moves and his defensive work seems to improve every game these days. RND was pretty good, particularly getting forward. MBengue as well, and he managed to control his aggression as necessary and avoided another yellow card. Nardi, Saito, Kone and Vale were all well under what they can do.

Madsen was excellent again, our best player by a way today. Solid defensively and started most of our best attacks. Nourington- Davies did well especially going forward, MBenge too. Kone, Vale, Saito, and Frey way off their best.

In his pre-match he's emphasizing it's one game at a time and their focus now is full on Sheffield. So I guess it will be the same start 11 if possible, or just any tactical changes wanted for SW.

That Strasbourg analysis had them playing 3 5 2 with the wing backs pushed well up. I don't think we've gone that formation yet with Stephan, perhaps because we don't have natural wing backs, but guess he could with training in it, with JCS back and using Saito and Smith as wing backs

Could it just be spreading his cost over additional years for FFP.? Or possibly it's just securing him for this season. As you say it's just guessing, but what we do know is he hasn't been able to stay available.

I thought RND looked solid enough in the Charlton and Wrexham games, but less so against Stoke's better wide players. Same with Dunne. If we are able to strengthen the squad in January it's these 2 back positions that look the most necessary to me. I'm not entirely comfortable with the whole back 4, but hopefully JCS will be able to improve it, and possibly the huge Akindileni or Smith can make the step up.

With his pace and experience as a striker, I think Smyth fits best as a sub or cover for Burrell.

I don't agree that MC made wins about himself, he continually said any success was about the players by pointing to them and pushing them forward at the end of games when the Support was chanting Marti's name, also in many interviews. Not that I"ve got any problem with JS either.

" Could it be that" it was still 0-0, Vale had just had his 3rd effort saved and his neighbours perfumes stank.

He's a great little player, for me better than all our other "midget" forwards both last season and so far this, because he's technically very good, quick over short distances and pretty good defensively. Only Smith has that defensive attribute of the others but lacks a little technically. It was a no brainer signing him permanently when we could afford to.

It looked like both players went for the ball at the same time to me from QPR+, and no need for the Ref to do anything other than make sure both players were ok as he did. Good decision.

Thanks for the report. Watching on QPR+ it isn't so easy to know what formation (s) we are set up in, especially now unfortunately without Andy Sinton being there to tell us. It looked to me like we were in something like a 4 2 2 2 most of the game with that front 4 interchanging a lot and targeting their left side 1st half especially, but can somebody that was there give their view of it?
