 | Forum Reply | Is Nourry that bad? at 13:10 10 Apr 2025
I'm with you on this. I don't know enough about Nourry and what he's done or not done. I do like Marti though, think he's done a great job and to date like last night he seems to be able to pull results out of the bag when they look both unlikely and are really needed. So if it should come down to a choice of one or the other, it's definitely Marti for me. I doubt we'll get that choice though. |

No we aren't safe until the arithmetic says we are. But last night's win gives us a good chance of staying up. Another defeat or just a point last night would have put us well in the sh*te. |

Madsen did well last night. I thought he looked a good passer of the ball early season, but that faded when it looked like not just the Support but probably also the Coaching staff demanded he defend more. He can take a good dead ball, creates openings with his vision and links the play well. Made a good chance for Paal as well as his corners. He also pressed well and used his hight a few times. Faded as the 2nd half wore on, but he could be a good player for us if he can build on that. |

Good bloke. He can round that off by scoring our winner tonight. |

If Colback is fit enough for another start I'd certainly prefer him to start ahead of Morgan who has looked way off the pace of games when he's played this year, and his passing has been mostly poor. |
 | Forum Reply | So another game with no striker… at 08:27 6 Apr 2025
I wouldn't want to use Morgan in the team at all based on his recent performances and definitely not at RB. It seems all too easy for opposition players to run past him in midfield and he's not good in the air. I thought that the one time Edwards looked out of position was when he played RB. I don't know if there is anybody in the Development squad who could do a job as striker at Championship/League 1 level, but I doubt Marti would want to reduce our defensive capability for the away game at Oxford, where with our large number of absentees a point is likely to be the realistic target. The Cardiff game would have been the better game to try Dunne as striker when Lloyd went off, if it's an option at all for Marti. |

Worst I've seen us this season after those subs. I felt Yang might score and he's taken off. Never looked like scoring after that, we were all over the place and lucky they missed 2 huge chances. |

The player I thought we missed most against Stoke was our fighting midget Saito. He has caused opposition defences especially their right side huge problems of late AND he is decent defensively on our left side where we had big problems without him at Stoke. Unfortunately we'll miss him for at least the next 2 games. Yang looked good going forward when he came on that side, but we shouldn't be giving him the ball when under pressure in our back third of the pitch. |

Variation is the key for me. Do one thing all the time the Opposition will know about it and and should be better able to stop it. One of the few chances we had at Stoke was that long punt from Nardi that bounced and Dembele's speed and possibly Stoke's surprise gave him a decent chance. Think maybe he was trying to lob the Keeper like he scored his one and only goal for us if I remember right, but whatever his shot was tame. But it showed you don't have to have a big striker to play long, though obviously it helps. |

I think we've been in a relegation fight most of the season, and definitely since some on here were proposing we leave out on loan and/or out of contract players to give young players a chance to develop in the remaining meaningless games. |
 | Forum Reply | Points,required for safety at 06:45 26 Mar 2025
I think we need 2 or 3 wins soonest to ensure safety. With all our injuries to key players and I guess Saito suspended for the next 3 games, plus weak back-up, I don't feel that confident about staying in the Championship another season. |
