What's the likelihood of the game going ahead? The forecast looks better after Saturday but still well below freezing before the game.

Attendance aspirations for 2024
at 20:24 29 Dec 2023

I saw Rochdale Hornets publish their attendance aspirations for 2024. If you haven’t seen that it is here:

https://www.totalrl.com/forums/index.php?/topic/387305-rochdale-hornets-attendan

They’re looking at getting an average home attendance to 1,000 in 2024 and 1,500 for 2025, from a current average of 612. The link has the data for the last 13 seasons.

Aiming for a 63% increase in 2024 from 2023 is a lofty ambition, but citing a catchment area of 230,000 makes that wholly achievable.

In the same spirit, what should our target be? If we assumed a current home average of 2,500 a similar target would be over 4,000 and transformational for finances at this level.

Everton lose £430m in 5 years or £1.65m per week!

The quicker the financial doping is eradicated from football, the more level the playing field and the better the game will be.

"We are not going to negotiate against ourselves. We have no negotiating leverage because of the financial disparity. We don't really have an awful lot to trade.

Cripes. If the man in charge of the EFL negotiations has no belief in his negotiating position then he should stand aside.

Can you imagine the sniggering within the Premier League at reading that?

EFL / Football is broken - Huddersfield Town
at 06:19 9 Feb 2023

https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-asking-pric

Another Championship club on the brink.

For sale for £1 plus guaranteeing taking on substantial debts which at 2021 were £12.6m owed to banks and £34m owed to Dean Hoyle who owns 25%. There is another shareholder who has control with 75% called Phil Hodgkinson.

How on earth are the EFL’s rules going to work here ? The news article states for £1 an owner can have all the shares if they take on the debts.

The buyer will be required to demonstrate to the EFL proof of funds for three years and the EFL have the final sign off on if a takeover goes ahead.

Funds required it seems are circa £48m plus the funding for the next three years and not forgetting the £1.

This is a club who spent two years in the Premier League but is currently (9th February 2023) 22nd in the Championship / 42nd placed team in England.

How on earth do the EFL get away with running a Chamionship league with clubs that appear insolvent?

I saw a post on Twitter by the "Overcoaters" (apologies if that name is wrong) about getting the atmopshere going a good while before kick-off and lots of noise to get behind the players.

With an 11am happy hour and £2.40 a pint, it really looks like Saturday is going to be a celebration of a new season being started.

Hoping for a really good atmosphere and a good few from Crewe and a good performance.

MORTON HOUSE / Southall and Birmingham City
at 23:02 19 Jul 2022

Fat Pat nearly spat her greasy chip barm out today when she heard the news. Matthew Southall CEO of Birmingham City!

The EFL have just had a MASSIVE headache created today by Paul Richardson's disclosures concerning Matthew Southall. As if they didn't have enough to do!

Earlier today the Birmingham Mail quoted Paul Richardson, who has a period of exclusivity at Birmingham, as follows:
https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/paul-richardson-re

“We will be adding to the team that we have got, we will assess the team that is here first and add to the team as we see necessary. Probably a CEO and CFO,” Richardson said, confirming that Southall will be coming in and admitting that he has ‘a little bit of history yes'.

Richardson added: “I have known Matt for over ten years, a personal friend, we need someone in this club that has experience in a tough environment, we have got some tough decisions to make as we move forward and we believe, myself and Maxi are right behind him, that he is the right guy to do it. I know all about the history, we have talked about it extensively. Matt, along with the CFO, will be reporting to myself and Maxi.

“We discussed everything, as I say Matt is a personal friend of mine so I know in depth about everything and there is always more than one side to a story at the end of the day. We are very clear and concise with it so no problem at all.”

For those who need a trip down memory lane about Matthew Southall and how he's been involved in football:

1. The Charlton Dossier
https://thecharltondossier.com/matt-southall/

2. Ex-Charlton chief strikes deal for 25 per cent of Rochdale AFC
https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/ex-charlton

3. Southall meeting with the Dale Trust
https://www.daletrust.co.uk/2021/10/10010/

We pushed him about the potential of his investment, and the lack of any potential return on that investment. He stated that Morton House had valued the club at £5m, but from his knowledge of football, if the Club could be promoted to League One it would be worth in the region of £6m to 8m. He cited the case of another League One club that he was offered at £10m that didn’t even own its own ground. He said that he’d be looking to sell those shares at a stage to give him a return on his investment. He said any questions about the value of the investment would come down to his judgement.

4. Southall wrote to the club telling them to cancel the EGM
https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/277292/non-shareholder-tri

"If the Board try to proceed with the EGM, we are advised by the lawyers to start legal proceedings in The High Court to obtain an Injunction on Tuesday to ensure that the meeting does not proceed. We do not want to do that, but if the Board do not cancel the meeting, we will, and will also seek an order that the Directors who initiated the EGM pay the costs."

5. Rochdale: The club with a dark cloud hanging over it
https://theathletic.com/3149942/2022/03/01/rochdale-the-club-with-a-dark-cloud-h

Former Charlton Athletic chief executive Matt Southall is formally working as an advisor to the firm that agreed to buy a 42.3 per cent stake

Now, that's all published by various different parties.

Then Rochdale fans facing an unwanted hostile takeover had to do their own research:
Part 1:
https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/276583/4392862/

Matt Southall: Ex-Charlton chief executive told to pay £21,000 in costs
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53449265

Former Charlton Athletic chief executive Matt Southall has been told to pay £21,000 costs after he admitted unlawfully changing the status of directors at the club’s parent company, East Street Investments.

Matt Southall - Love Me For A Reason

Southall is going to have to prove to the EFL that he is acting within their rules and they have a full section on associations and dual interests to prevent issues in the game:
https://www.efl.com/-more/governance/efl-rules--regulations/efl-regulations/sect

The following Regulations prohibit one Club controlling another and individuals, either alone or with others, having interests in or influence over more than one Club. Associations and dual interests or influence giving rise to actual or perceived conflicts of interest which undermine the integrity of League competitions and the reputation, credibility and image of professional football Clubs and all those who support or have a financial or commercial interest in League football are entitled to the assurance that no such Club or individual(s) can or will influence the outcome of any match or enter into any arrangements which prejudice the interests of other Clubs. In exceptional circumstances the Board may allow an individual to have a dual interest, but this will be subject to conditions to safeguard the interests of The League and its Clubs.

So if Birmingham City appoint Matthew Southall as CEO, does Matthew Southall have a "dual interest" or not?

Bit hard to completely deny that given the Manchester Evening News says he has a 25% stake in the club and is working closely with Morton House.

We know from the Dale Trust account that "Southall began by stating that he was contacted by Alexander Jarvis on behalf of Morton House with a view to a purchase of the shares. He said that he had known Jarvis for a few years and the pair had worked together before including at Charlton. Jarvis had told him that he had a deal that had “gone wrong” that might be of interest Southall."

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2021/08/05/efl-investigating-homophobic-slu

Alexander Jarvis was the one who also dropped Andrew Curran in it.

"Curran did not respond to requests for comment after the claims against him were put to him via text message.

That followed a bizarre phone call with Telegraph Sport in which he said he had “nothing to do with Rochdale”.

The call nevertheless prompted a WhatsApp message from Alexander Jarvis, who described himself as an adviser to what he admitted was a “hostile takeover” and said that Curran was “a bit of a recluse”.

Jarvis said he himself had been on the “heated” Zoom call and that he could not recall the alleged comments being made by Curran, adding: “I don’t think, if he did say it, that he meant it in the way that it would be perceived.”

Jarvis said he was “waiting for a call from the FA” about Rochdale’s complaint, which could see it take action if Curran was deemed a participant in football."

There would be a massive irony if Captain Sabotage has scuppered two deals with one stone - Curran's "hostile takeover" (credit: Daily Telegraph) and Southall's involvement with Paul Richardson and Maxi Lopez.

The other option is that Matthew Southall is nothing to do with Rochdale now and that would leave him free to take up with another club like Birmingham.

It's going to be interesting watching how the EFL deal with this over the next few weeks. Richardson was on Sky Sports News saying he hoped it would be done in "2 to 3 weeks".

MORTON HOUSE / Captain Sabotage grasses Giuseppe Masella to HMRC!
at 22:13 15 Jul 2022

Captain Sabotage has done it again!

Not content with blurting the phrase "hostile takeover" to the Daily Telegraph and trying to save his pasty pale skin from a number of different people all whilst hoping to maintain and rebuild a life in football, the Wirral's favourite McDonalds operative has done it again.

Jarvo is making sure that when this is all over he has told everyone all that he can about Morton House so that when it goes wrong, he can say that he told everyone everything.

HMRC love an informant. For those who like to sing like a canary in the pit, HMRC have made it easier and easier over the years to "get in touch"

Even Fat Pat has had a go, using a well known link that means you can report anyone or anything that hasn't paid all of their dues to the taxman. You can play along at home too:
https://www.gov.uk/report-tax-fraud

Jarvo has accidently sent all of the emails from his personal email account to HMRC, many of them with Giuseppe Masella

Born in November 1971, Giuseppe is Faical Safouane's Operations Director.
When you are as busy as Faical is working the catelogues, you need a man you can rely on.

You ring up, you want payroll, Guiseppe give you payroll.

You ring up, you want operatives paid, Guiseppe get operatives paid.

You ring up, you want to know about tax, Guiseppe tell you all about tax.

Except:
Guiseppe isn't all he first appears

Jarvo has "accidentally" disclosed that Guiseppe has had quite a few companies to his name and been involved in quite a few more.
AGC & Partner Limited
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/07700561

AND 32 other Companies!:
https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/3AEwaHsWmcIO

The best thing that Jarvo disclosed was that Guiseppe was convicted of charges of fraud and money laundering in 2018 and jailed for 8 months.

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime/man-who-stole-ps80k-in-cruel-and-calculati

A businessman who stole more than £80,000 in a “cruel and calculating” raid on his parents’ life savings has been jailed for eight months.

Giuseppe Masella, 48, took control of his mother Anna’s bank account after she died in March 2015. Within three weeks he had siphoned off £48,000.

In 2017, he set up an account in his father Antonio’s name to steal a further £33,000, Isleworth crown court heard.

When Antonio checked his late wife’s account to split it between his three sons, he found only £10 was left.

Masella denied charges of fraud and money laundering, but was found guilty.

Recorder Joseph Boothby: “You did this in a cruel and calculating way, taking advantage of your father’s trust and lack of understanding of English.”

You ring up, you wanna start a company, Guiseppe start a company

You ring up and wanna raid a bank account, Guiseppe raid a bank account.

You ring up and want to rob a grieving old man, Guiseppe rob a grieving old man.

Faical Safouane don't half know how to pick them.

Good on Jarvo for grassing up Giuseppe. I'm not sure Matthew Southall will appreciate Jarvo's sudden turn to the ways of the truth and the light, but HMRC always appreciate "a little bit of information"

Try it for yourself:
Call 0345 065 3045 and ask for Guiseppe!

And then start the jukebox:

MORTON HOUSE / Matt Southall is £100 per hour PHOTOGRAPHER!
at 23:42 13 Jul 2022

Captain Sabotage has done it again!!!

A year on from first darkening our doors from the darkest reaches of leafy Birkenhead, the little lost boy is blabbing on Matthew Southall's real career and deeply trying to remove and disassociate himself from a failed "hostile takeover" (quote credit to The Daily Telegraph) which has seen anyone involved stuck in something hotter than the upcoming heatwave.

For over 5 years since 2017, Matthew Southall has tried to persuade the world that he is a football dealmaker, a football agent, a major player in the world of football.

Yet, those in football state when asked openly state that he has no money and Simon Jordan, having embarrassed Southall when he took over at Charlton for £1, won't even consider him as a credible person to go a order coffee focussing on the more credible Laurence Bassini instead.

When Laurence Bassini is considered more credible than you in football, that is when you want to really give up!

Those closest to Southall, like the plastic princess Jade and road digger father-in-law James are beginning to wonder if he is cracking up. Matthew has has a tough year.

* A failed and botched hostile takeover
* A failed Rome wedding
* Two failed hair transplants (third time lucky Matt )
* Had to move house

All of these things has seen Matthew become more paranoid than a former Rochdale CEO moving flats in Uppermill.

Of course, we have known all along that Southall's lies are not true.

Charlton fans who have helped #upthedalenotforsale know that it isn't true.

Fat Pat knows that it isn't true.

But when you visit the club and refuse a greasy chip barm then there must be a consequence.

Ever since "Prettyboy" was exposed by Fat Pat as a Boyzone singing wannabee, Matthew's credibility has begun sliding in the grown up world faster than a former Rochdale CEO with "Proven success directing and managing an elite level Professional Football Club by devising and implementing programmes to accomplish set objectives for corporate and SME organisations"

When Laurence Bassini AND a former Rochdale CEO are more credible than you in football, that is when you want to really give up!

If you've missed the "Prettyboy" videos they are here:
https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/rochdale/forum/286877/4498511/

Jarvis is continuing to grass up all of the major players and his latest REVALATION is that Matthew Southall is really, in proper grown up life, a £100 PER HOUR PHOTOGRAPHER.

You can contact Matthew here and book his services using the link below - he'd love to hear from you and in the current state of the world and electricity prices could do with the money:
https://www.peopleperhour.com/freelancer/video-photo-audio/matthew-southall-prof

Looking at the videography he's done a Jason Manford barbecue, a few PR events and even has a video of a Porsche!

And as his website says:
"Hey, I am a professional photographer/ videographer content creator and website builder. I produce award winning creative, deliver engaging user experiences and build meaningful relationships.

I build digital brands that engage your target audience. I have worked with a large number of brands from In the Style to Bentley and I always strive to achieve the vision that the client has in mind in everything that I do."

Fat Pat has a vision in mind for Matthew, but more about that another day when she can get her hands on an industrial quantity of chip fat.

The most interesting thing about the videography is that it links to a brand called "17 Media"

For those with a good memory 17Media Limited is a Southall and McManus production which in the last set of accounts had overall liabilities of £148,312. 17 Media has also been picked up by Charlton fans as one of a number of companies that were seemingly paid for "services" during a period of uncertainty in 2020.

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/09830875/fili

The beautiful thing is that Andrew Curran doesn't know that Matthew can be hired for just a ton an hour but I bet if he did he'd be renegotiating his rates with wedding and event photographer who is dabbling in football deals on the side.

If you are having an event coming up and need a few pictures taking, why not bear Matthew in mind?

God bless you Jarvo. A year ago you walked into our club like you owned the place and you have SINGLEHANDEDLY brought the whole thing crashing down on the heads of Matthew Southall and Andrew Curran.

No one likes a grass though and we have the feeling that Matthew and Andrew will be very unhappy learning that you are still leaking.

WE SALUTE YOU AND SAY GOD BLESS CAPTAIN SABOTAGE (AND ALL WHO SAIL IN HIM)
