I'm with you on this, Dave. Yes, it would've been ideal if Nardi had dealt with the ball over the top, but Morris runs unmarked from around the penalty spot, while all bar one of our outfield players pushes up waving their arms.
Someone makes a good point that we did only concede one, so perhaps Nardi is not as terrible as some are making him out to be.
A broader issue is that even with all the attacking players we now have, and 62% possession, we only managed one shot on target. Is that because Derby were defensively excellent, we were offensively poor, or a mixture of the two?
When I was a teenager, I thought "Cricket mad" by Michael Parkinson was hilarious but I haven't read it again recently, so perhaps it hasn't stood the test of time (to be honest, I'm not sure I've stood the test of time either ).
The Tim Moore books about cycling the three grand tours on decrepit, period bikes - all of which I have read recently - are a hoot. They all have multiple strands: His fitness and equipment challenges, a travelogue element and a lot of historical analysis, both of the races and of major events in the countries. The works are "French Revolutions," "Gironimo," and "Helta Vuelta".
Back in the 90s, a company I was working for created a new, senior role and advertised it externally.
Apparently, when they asked the successful candidate for a reference, a faxed reference very quickly appeared...from Prince Andrew! The Prince had served on a ship which had been commanded by said candidate. Surreal stuff
Not great from Nardi but the Derby player who puts the ball in the net is completely unmarked, with all bar one of our outfield players nowhere near him or the other Derby player and just appealing for offside.
I just moved house and while packing up my hundreds of CDs I came across this Lionrock track, which, to the best of my knowledge, was only available as a CD single.
Good post. Re. this point - "streaming is essentially robbing artists" - if you really want to support an artist financially, streaming is not the way to do it.
Buying an album on Bandcamp gives an artist the same income as streaming it every day for three years!
