Of course they are, they appointed Still. Who the fu ck would replace the only player to have found the net with a well taken goal with the utterly useless Stephens? It's beyond belief. |

What a great afternoon that was. Koeman and some great players - no comparison to today's sorry state of affairs. |

Yes I remember the Quiz Nights, and also falling in the pool - or was I pushed? Dougie Scrafanton handled all the UK pension payments some Yemenis were entitled to having lived and worked in the UK (when the UK had Aden as a protectorate} and was caught creaming ££'s off the top, later to be caught... Another happily remembered watering hole was the old '392' in Orchard Road, Singapore, happy days indeed |

The Khat just gave me a headache, but yes, just to be sociable. Lovely people, shame they've been hit with civil wars and other conflicts. One of our watering holes was the British Embassy club bar in Sana'a run by the notorious Mr Douglas Scrafton. |

Ah, Sana'a, Yemen. I worked there from '92 to '97 for Yemen Hunt Oil - offshore Red Sea ( Hodeida ) and up in the desert at Marib. Indeed there is some amazing architecture in that country including some of the first ever tower blocks. Well remember the flights up the mountains from Hodeida (12,000 ft) to Sana'a in a twin engined Bell Huey occasionally being shot at by the AK47 carrying locals...great place. |

I'm beginning to think that consecutive managers are being dictated to about who they play and maybe even how they play. Still's predecessor Juric also made some strange /illogical substitutions and used some strange tactics. Now he's doing well and unbeaten at Atalanta. And Still - who in their right mind would substitute anybody with Downs? is he being told he must play him to save face for Spors? I can't think of any other explanations other than he doesn't have any idea about football... |
