Under 21s at Truro
at 07:11 14 Aug 2025

Made the trip down to Cornwall yesterday to watch the National League Cup game

For me it fulfilled my aim to get on train down to Penzance, the mostly southerly point after previously getting to Thurso the most northerly point of UK rail network, whilst also ticking off another new ground.

Saints lost 3-2 to an 85th minute goal, but played pretty well, passing the ball around nicely, but they wasted several opportunities, particularly when the wide men got behind the defence but their final balls into the centre were often poor with plenty of players ready to finish off the move.

Had little idea last night who was playing for us, but was impressed with our nos 8 and 15.

On checking this morning 8 was Sesay, who played in several preseason first team games, 15 was Dipepa, who held up the ball really well up front. Bragg who played for first team last year, Ballard off the bench and Moody a keeper who was on the bench at Northampton also featured

Good to see at least 50 other Saints fans in the crowd of 1906

A decent game, and with a 7pm kick off, back in the pub in Truro in time to watch Spurs chuckle away 2-0 leads in both match and penalties to round off a good day out

Standard of match officials in this country

Surely this must be at an all time low.

In midweek Leeds had at least two goals incorrectly disallowed for offside.

Today how anyone can wave play on after foul on Fernandes and suggest he was allowing advantage when we had one isolated player on ball up front is beyond me, and then allows Villa to break through and score, an absolute joke

Var bias to big clubs

Yet another example of inconstant decisions in favour of big teams

Martinez knee high challange on Palmer yellow card. Stephens similar challange v Un̈ited rightfully straight red

Both decisions on the basis of those in charge of VAR.

With just a handful of the 3.065 tickets still available for Man City, it looks like another premier league away day sell out fir Saints (every game so far), and all our home games up to and including Leicester have sold out too

So despite awful start to the season the fans still sticking with it, We must be either mad or masochists or both 🤪😜

Match ticket additional charges
at 15:48 28 Jul 2024

People complain about the £1.50 booking fee from Saints, but just look at what our friends down the road charge for away tickets

Booking Fee
There will be a £3 booking fee (per booking) for any match tickets purchased over the phone or in person. There is no booking fee for tickets purchased online or for supporters purchasing disabled tickets.

There is a £2.50 postage fee for any match tickets that need to be sent out.

Homegrown Saints
at 07:26 24 May 2024

Been watching Saints nearly 60 years now, first game when I was 6. in that time I’ve had the pleasure of watching numerous players who’ve come through our youth / academy teams and made a major contribution to Saints.

There have been others who although making there breakthrough with Saints soon departed, and went on to international glory such as Bale, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Walcott

The remarkable thing in this time is the lack of goalkeepers and central defenders

Anyway on the basis of 10+ games for first team, and staying for a least a couple of seasons, here’s my Team playing 4 3 3 with 9 subs, I’m sure many would have alternative choices.

Steve Middleton

Jason Dodd
Jack Stephens
Malcolm Waldron
Wayne Bridge

Steve Williams
James Ward Prowse
Nick Holmes

Le Tissier
Mike Channon
Steve Moran

Subs (No Keeper)

Steve Mills (would have been all time great)
Francis Benali
Luke Shaw
Adam Lallana
Trevor Hebberd
Danny Wallace
Terry Paine (only saw last years of Saints career)
Alan Shearer
Bobby Stokes (1976)

Ticket sales Information
at 10:15 20 Feb 2024

Plenty of tickets still available for tonight, around 1,700

Only around 470 left for Millwall

Currently 18 front row seats available for Liverpool

Loads left for Preston

Only 840 left for Sunderland

So looks like weekend home games will sell out, but not midweek games, which considering we have 4 home games in 19 days not surprising

Getting increasingly difficult to get away tickets.

Game sold out in day and a half to those with 5 aways, not helped by only getting 2,000 tickets, Ipswich tickets will go just as quickly
