I'm genuinely amazed us fans have been so passive this season.
We got promoted and let's be frank, we have been absolutely embarrassing.
We have been the laughing stock of the Premier league. Even Leicester and Ipswich are a long way in front.
I know we probably don't care now it's all over and we are looking forward to the championship and perhaps winning games again.
And I know we all like to trash the Premier league for it's corporate fans, diving, var, and overhyped players.
But dear god, we have been pathetic. Stale, toothless football under Martin who refused to budge an inch as the ship sank.
Then Juric the world's least charismatic manager (ok, maybe second behind Puel) who seemed to have no clue from his first day onwards.
We've been 'struggling Southampton' many times before in my life, but at least we've had fight.
The owners are extremely lucky our fan base are so accepting and supportive because this is the most pathetic season I can ever remember and I include the days we sank to League 1. |

He seemed to have a good reputation. Did well at Bournemouth, and played decent football at Wolves until they sold a lot of their best players.
I think he'd be a reasonable option but he doesn't seem to be considered. |

Totally agree. What has Rohl done?
Saints fans seem to be dazzled by the fact he has been here before with Ralph.
He might be a solid candidate for all I know, but not to the point where he's a clear favourite. |

What does surprise me is how little he has played because when he is on the pitch he's one of our better players. Baffling. |

We bought him back and he never plays.
Martin rarely picked him despite some decent cameos.
Juric picked him even less and now...
Well now he doesn't even pick himself!

I see no point in changing now. Leave him there, we're down anyway.
What good will it do Rusk and Lallana to lose every week too?
I dunno why people are calling for Rusk or Rohl for that matter. Both are probably great guys but there's no evidence either is really up to the job.
I'd rather we take our time and make sure we get the right man in for next season. |

Apparently the spurs ringleader is well known and has been at it for years.
He also ran off once the party started too.
What surprised me was this was pre-arranged. I didn't think we had a firm as such anymore.
I remember saints 'yoof' a few years ago tried were trying to make a name for themselves but I thought it had all fizzled out. |

Atmosphere is weird.
It depends on how motivated the crowd is. Forest came up, have done well and the crowd are loving it. The noise is fantastic apparently. Would it be if they had been stuffed every week?
The big clubs are usually poor because they are used to winning. They sit back and wait to be entertained. Liverpool was better on Saturday, probably because they were losing so they had something to cheer and then celebrate. Usually it's one way traffic.
Our away support is usually ok but you can put that down to gallows humour this season.
So basically the atmosphere is often subdued if you are either really bad or really good every week! |

Maybe Dibling just can't get motivated for Saints as we are so terrible. I guess if u think you're going to the top playing in this team must be soul destroying. Granted its poor for the club and fans but top players are selfish.
That said I would have expected a few more goals from him this season. |

Until about 6 weeks ago I'd never heard of Rusk. He had what, one game in charge? Did ok but it really tells you nothing.
The fact we see him as part of the solution now shows the shocking state of management at the club.
It feels like the club completely ran out of ideas once we got to the 3rd year of Ralph's playbook. Since then it's felt like random appointments with no plan beyond the next week.
The exception was Martin who did have a strategy but his refusal to adapt relegated us within a dozen games.
It seems no one at the club can spot managerial talent anymore. Say the right things in your interview and you get the job. |

Id be surprised if Juric goes during the season. I'm sure SR don't want to admit they made yet another mistake and they'll want to avoid that embarrassment.
We are a total shambles though. No fight, no plan and no indication of what we are trying to do on the pitch.
I knew it was going to be a long season. Even walking from Wembley I was thinking that if we go to the prem with Armstrong up front and Smallbone in midfield we'll be screwed (to name just two!). It seemed obvious, but that's what we did. And we were effectively relegated after 12 games.
One bad decision after another and now we have another weird manager who is no better at selection and tactics than any of us fans. He has not managed to make us harder to beat, or sharper in attack. We just look totally disorganised and unmotivated.
But football is funny. We'll drop to our level of competence and we'll start to be competitive again. We'll score some goals and win some games and we'll all feel better. And we can forget season 24-25 and the utter embarrassment of being the worst team the PL has ever seen. |
