People's Lack of Understanding of Mental Health
at 17:20 17 Jul 2025

My late wife developed ME in the 80's when it was called Yuppee Flu
Many had it and recovered
Others like my wife never did, but instead developed a load of other conditions
With ME she could have turned up one day with enough energy to work
However the next few days she would have to spend in bed recovering
She was depressed to the point of being suicidal when she had been ill for five years and was wheelchair bound
For the next 25 years she was constantly badgered by those who "knew" there was a job she could do.
In her working life ( all too brief ) she would jump over most people's heads and her desire to live a normal life never left her, even when she found she had terminal cancer at the age of 55
Yet there were still people like Res who were adamant there was work she ( and many in a similar position could do.
Understandably I get angry when I read such unbalanced right wing views

People's Lack of Understanding of Mental Health
at 08:01 17 Jul 2025

Mental health in all it's forms is something few of us have managed to avoid.
There is a brilliant pinned thread on here where many of our posters have discussed their battle with Mental health and many others have offered their support
Yet yesterday one poster was suggesting many who suffer with mental illness could and should stop claiming benefit and get out to work.
What an unbelievable lack of empathy from a poster who has form for extreme views
Absolutely disgusting

Do you honestly believe what you type
That right wing extremist statement is up there with that vile peace of work from the guy who has finally taken his own advice and ridden his bike of this mortal coil
You are no better than Tebbit

Quite often from memory the return fixture has been just about pride.
As I said earlier, I have a feeling it will be a good, close game

I have voted for a win and hope we pull it off.
My head says it will be close.
I think it may be a good game

Two more sleeps - getting excited now !
I know both teams have failed to hit any consistent form this season, but think this could be a classic.
My heart says a 2 - 0 win, but my head says it will be close
Come on you Super Swans !!

Favourite Musicals
at 00:01 31 Mar 2022

Saw Barnum and Billy Liar ( last one was a play not a musical ) both with Michael Crawford and both at Drury Lane, several years apart.
Also went to see EFX at MGM Grand Las Vegas. He was supposed to be in it, but was substituted at the last minute.
Apart from those :
Les Mis
Phantom
Blood Brothers
Evita
Jersey Boys
Several others as well
Les Mis is the best IMHO.
Apparently Blood Brothers is based on a true story?

Whatever you believe Martin has changed at Swans, one thing that has not changed is Grimes.
He was just the same under Cooper.
He is a steady but limited player, which is why no one came in and signed him in the summer ?
Downes jumps over his head in thought and deed and will be the catalyst of our win on Saturday.

If Grimes runs the show it will be back - sideways - forward - back & repeat.
Fulton wont be in the starting line up, though Burns might.
Downes is the key on Saturday.
2 - 0 for me to Swans

How Do You Rate Michael Laudrup As A Manager For Swansea City ?
at 20:21 4 Mar 2022

Hello ?
Not sure what you mean ?
What is your problem with my username ?
As I explained the change from Suwannee to Swannee was made by Foster, the composer of the song.
I just followed his example ?

Indeed the abusive word aimed at Carroll and the use of the midget is equally abborant in my view
No place for them in our supposedly enlightened society

No apology coming.
You were the one that made light of the wife beating and cat kicking on here, whatever the context and/or agenda you have.
As for my previous reply, if you post your views on any form of social media then you are of course leaving it open for any fellow posters to disagree with you.
So I will keep replying if you post such incidious posts
