Well yes but the rules have become much tighter on what is an acceptable tackle now, aiming to protect the head an neck, and punishing players a lot more frequently for not doing it within the rules. Head contact is now a red card as Sam Caine found out in the last RWC.
As ever the changes in rules takes a time, for players to adjust, but Rugby is safer now then it was just 10 years ago let along 2003. I'd expect Rugby to be a lot cleaner in another 10 years as players are coached from when they start full contact, what is an illegal tackle. |

The Coventry game was a real light bulb moment for QPR. A very necessary evil.
JS at the time saying that next week's game against Charlton would be totally different, seems like him tearing up the "process" he'd been handed, and doing things his way. He didn't come all this way to be put through humiliations like this after all. It also prompted the board to get aggressive in the transfer market and get those "will they won't they?" deals done to bring in the players needed. Whether that would have happened in spite of the 7-1 thrashing, I don't know.
It's early days for Nourry, QPR could go on a diabolical 6 game losing run at the drop of a hat and there's rumours of a falling out again, you can never trust this club. [Post edited 7 Oct 8:22]

They've been building for a while really, a club that is going places. Now own their stadium so even have stability off the pitch to match the ambition. Their fans have really been put through it and then some, so best of luck to them. |

He's just not grasped a loylt of the basics strikers need. The assistant ref's must have arm ache by full time if he plays a whole game. |

Wonderful turnaround. Had to ride parts of that game after going 1-0 down, but after Kone's equalizer, I thought QPRvwere good value.
Bristol are unhappy with the ref, I would be too I guess but fck em. |
