The 4 Nations all seem to be able to beat each other which is great for the game. Putting 43 points on The All Blacks in their own backyard is unheard of. I think France and England can compete. Ireland I think might go through a bit of transition.. Wales I fear for!! How far the game has gone backwards here. I still see loads of young kids in Dunvant, Gowerton, Penclawdd with their youth jerseys on. So how have we fallen so far behind? Whilst we never had a huge pool of players, we always had a niche of world class players. Which unfortunately we don't seem to have at present.

Two city rugby
at 17:12 20 Aug 2025

The only way all four would agree to two is if grounds were shared and new entities were created. Can't see that happening. Three would lead to one club taking legal action. I think the best option will be four teams unequal funding and Cardiff Golden Blues obviously being the number one choice with those scabby Scarlets being the second choice. The Ospreys who are the only attempt at a region and by far the most successful over the last twenty years being underfunded. Along with those giants from Gwent. What a shite show!

Which ever way you look at it, dropping even one region will alienate another percentage of fans. Look at the Rhondda a nd Gwent Valleys. No interest in the Cardiff or Newport joke regions. Get rid of the Ospreys Port Talbot, Neath Bridgend Swansea Valle, parts of West Wales will be lost.

Remember The Blues crowds at CCS. Bigger since they returned to their spiritual home. Don't forget many old All Whites fans and Neath fans never took to the Ospreys.

British & Irish Lions 2025

That sums it up. From the second test on Aussies played far better Rugby. Looked good with ball in hand, especially in todays conditions. Lions looked pedestrian in the backs and the forwards out gunned. I think some of the Irish players especially Aki and James Lowe who didn't play today are past their best. Good for World Rugby if Australia are back .

Just finished a bottle of Espartero Rioja Reserva 2018 from Asda. 🍷 Very good indeed. Obviously with a bit of nosh.
I know the Spanish wine snobs will extoll the virtues of a Ribera del Duero . Sorry not for me, it's Rioja every time.
Any red winos on the forum have any recommendations for decent reds from anywhere in the world.

You've good to look at this as a fantastic boost for not on only ladies football in the UK but ladies sport. If it inspires any young girl to take up a sport rather than choose the sedentary lifestyle that's got to be a positive.
I still think the big result over the weekend was the British and Irish Lions but don't begrudge the ladies succes.

The Lions are an historic institution and may they long continue. To play in front of 90,000 people in a mostly Rugby League country will higher the profile of Rugby. Rugby Australia have always had terrific players but they need to broaden the game in Oz. It needs to come away from the school system and get more ordinary kids involved. Theres enough talent in Australia for both sports. It's amazing how close they came to the Lions considering how awful they were in the World Cup. They definitely have some top players and in a far better place than Wales. Under Schmidt they are looking like they could be a force again.
Commercially the income gained for Rugby Australia will be huge. That's why the All Black and Boks love the Lions tours. Such a pity that only one Welsh man is involved. Which is a huge indictment on the useless woke WRU. Welsh players always used to shine on Lions tours.

Having been an All Whites supporter in the 80s and 90s (Swans as well). The Brian Thomas/Waldron Neath teams were tough and as hard as rocks. Didn't fear anybody . Including Pontypool. They were right orrible barstewards. When Mike Ruddock took over all that changed.

There is an answer to this mate. Just tax the hard working people of Swansea and Cardiff...works every time. Sorry to be cynical but that's the way this government and other UK past governments think. No bias from me . Less tax more disposal income, which leads to more income for the country...rant over!

I think Mumbles is superb now. Got rid of the old stigma of the Mumbles Miles. Loads of nice places to eat and bars too. A few independents up towards Newton Road if the front isn't your thing. Especially like Harry's Bar.
