Ramming up the M1 - Match Thread

I see Mr Elbow is back when we are losing spreading doom and gloom as per usual.

Has anyone else lost the stream in the second half?

Gambrinus. The best Czech Pilsner. Mrs Tonto is Czech so there has been extensive research.

She doesn't come from Prague though, so i couldnt help you other than by saying the airport is quite nice. There is a supermarket between t1 and t2 if you want to pick a few things up once you are off the plane.

The home kits have been really good. Interesting nods to historical elements of the club and i liked the 3 blue hoops last year.

The away kits havent been to my taste, but i would saybthat doesnt matter.. it would be about sales. I havent bought a kit in years so its not about me. Its about appealling to the demographic that doea.

Dont think we played badly. In fact we played quite well in patches. Millwall defended very well, clung on in the first half and got 2 cucker punches in.

We were not yreat for the 15 mins after half time. But the subs refreshed it. Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition, even if its Millwall

I had agreed with just about every commenet Don Goodman has said this afternoon, until he criticised the Doughty card. That was deliberate

Kone and Frey will need to link better than they did against Oxford. I would have gone Kolli and Kone myself. Kets hope JD is better at this management stuff than me!

There's a Kings Park Rangers?

Yeah... its not great journalism. Surely the Queens and Kings Park Rangers link is worth a reference for a bit of a chortle or at least some additional colour to the story.

Given we keep getting mentioned whenever Mr Barton does his latest despicable misogynistic tweet or beaten up his other half again, it would have been nice to have a fun reference.

Its standard modern planning talk.

All new developments have to provide some element of open space for people to be able to go outside and sit, wlak etc. This can be as simple as some patches of grass or something like the back of the BBC development with the playground. Its nothing unusual.

Keeper conundrum?
at 18:42 9 Oct 2025

Keeper is the weak point in our team a d we eed to make a decision soon.

Nardi is gone in the summer at the latest.

If we are still in the playoff places, I can see us going for a short-term option. But otherwise, why bother?

The long term optio s appear to be a battle bewteen Walsh and Cooper. Walsh had the upper hand but seems to be losing it.

Gut feeling is Cooper will be our keeper next year.

So.... some ITK knowledge:

The S40 is part of the TRLN, i.e. managed by TfL not H&F.

TfL undertook a bunch of feasibility studies back when Boris was mayor which looked into tunnelling parts of the A40 as one of his big ideas to ease congestion. Lets just say that the outcome of those studies was not particularly positive.

Ive not seen this proposal come back. It was simply too expensive, so Im a little surprised to see it here. It seems to come from H&F's local plan, which is all well and good, but as i said earlier its not their road, so that effectively meansdiddly squat. Im surprised the inspector allowed it in the plan as its unachievable. I wouldnt be holding your breath, even though the existing structure is a toothpicks and sellotape job that are akin to Chris Willock's hammy.

Toast, in The credit where its due thread you say there are rumours of a falling out. Can you expand? Feels like something that shouldnt be hidden...

Given where we were, im not surprised its taken 2 season to turn the tanker around. Other than Dunne, maybe Smyth and Cook there isnt an Ainsworth player in the starting XI. Chair when he is back maybe?

That level of surgery was needed. Nourry has done an excellent job there, especially getting the average age (and wage) of the squad down. Still think the jetonisinig. Of Marti was a BIG and largely unnecessary risk though.

But this is a conversation for after Christmas IMO, lets let the season develop. Its still early.

Players With Wobbly Starts
at 19:12 6 Oct 2025

Tony Sealy was a victim of the one substitute rule at the time, so he often missed pu of the team completely. If it was now he would get on the bench easy and would probbaly be the last 30 minutes guy

Describing Falkirks stadium as a non league ground is a bit harsh. Yes there are only 3 stands, and there is a pretty big gap in the corners for some reason but those 3 stands are decent. Its a joint venture between the club and the local Council, and its also shared with East Stirling.

Falkirk have been through the mill a bit recently, and have ground their way back to the top tier through back to back promotions.
