You did well. My parents live just outside Penzance so i make the trip regularly. The average drive is 5.5 plus stops. With a 6 year old there are quite a few of those! If you go to Cornwall regularly there is an amzing farm shop at Lifton Down, right on the Devon/Cornwall border (just before Launceston). https://strawberryfieldslifton.co.uk/ Best/cleanest toilets on the route, plus a nice restaurant and we buy the food for the week there too as its fresh and great tasting. |

As you say, on paper its been a decent summer. Are there mamy ofnthe players we lost you would want back? Maybe Paal bwcuase of what happened with injuries. Some decent loans out. Think a few others could do with one as well. I wouldn't say we have smashed it, but the squad is better than this time last year. Just nned to mold.it into a team.and get a bunch of points now! |

The next 2 games will be interesting. Wrexham have spent big but not got the results. Stoke have had a good start to the season. 2 or 3 points from that wouldnt be too bad, but lose both and the toxic knives will be out again. |
 | Forum Reply | Hayden, Dunne, in-game management on the pitch. at 08:15 31 Aug 2025
Having more than one leader on the pitch is usually a good thing. Yes one of the reasons we brought Hayden back is his leadership. Cook is also good here, i.e. they are good communicators) but in footballl the "captain" doesnt hold the same weight as it does in other sports (cricket being the most obvious). So i would say dont over analyse it. [Post edited 31 Aug 8:42]

I know it's a common issue for many, but his age shouldn't be. If you're good enough, you are old enough. His background fitted the job description. Not everything he has done is bad. In fact, there have been many good things. The principle of the "project" is the right one. The complete overhall of the squad was needed. Persoanlly i like a data led approach, heck i use it at work myself! Mistakes have been made, some of them have been learned from. And the club is hamstrung by FFP. We simply dont generate enough money to compete unless we buy low and sell high. no new owner or CEO is going to change that in a hurry. I think the communciation strayegy is mistake which needs rectifying. But to me, the biggest mistake, however. was the fall out with Marti. I suspect it will be a while before the full facts come out, and we really KNOW (not speculate) on exaclty what happened rather thanThe general assumption around players and styles (i dont buy the new narrative that Nourry is picking the team or telling Stephan who to pick). It was a huge risk to dump Marti. So far, the results with Stephan have not been good enough (understatement). And the decision looks worse and worse with every defeat. The injuries arent Nourry's fault. They may or may not be William's fault. We dont know for sure, again its only speculation IMO, although it is with increasing circumstantial evidence. If we do get relagted, it will be on Nourry's head though. [Post edited 26 Aug 23:11]
