My friend works as a road sweeper. I asked "What qualifications do you need for that job?"

He replies, "None, you just pick it up as you go along"

What is an ‘influencer’? Anychance they could influence Sport Republic on a few things or is that more of a ‘Cortese’ level thing?

Can I politely ask when you last were in New York and San Fran? Whilst the smell of the green is evident in NYC, San Fran was the worst place I have visited in recent years (2023) for the stench of weed. Not sure if it got worst since Covid, big the place stank and people everywhere were walking round like zombies. New York was nowhere near as bad imho

I am with you - Chicago is a great city but I personally would plump for NYC all day long. So much to do and see there, Brooklyn, Coney, Bronx etc.

Auckland is a cracking city and if I lived anywhere else in the world, that would be high on the list.

Glad To Have Two Weeks Off From Football
at 21:46 6 Oct 2025

Do you think it has anything to do with results or current progress, or maybe the atmosphere on this forum of what? Genuine question as we have been in worst plights so just interested to know the thoughts.

For me I must admit whilst I still love the club etc., for a few years it has lowered slightly on the priority list. If I had a choice of doing a gig or watching Saints I would (sadly) opt for a live band but that’s just me.

Maybe with a few wins under the belt it might change things, but to be honest, am not sure it would.

Yeah really liked them. I believe there was a gig where it kicked off between ‘said’ drummer and one of the crowd. Not sure how true, but it involved a female / girlfriend in the crowd also.

Being as I never caught them, I would plump for an act not seen so potentially Secret Machines or Big Country (but naturally key members are no longer around).

Current act I would go for a Russian band called Blankenberge

Depends - are we talking acts that remain alive and well, or are you including any with deceased members?

Southampton At Derby County The Verdict
at 10:40 6 Oct 2025

Only my humble view, but we had a far superior set of players last time around and just scraped promotion……..

A couple of wins propels us right up the table however am not entirely confident we are capable of going on any form of run. On the one hand we need promotion, but the other it would be another calamity as we would require huge investment.

Rangers Sack Ex Southampton Boss Russell Martin

It depends what is defined as ‘fit to run a football club’. Am sure any business person would deem the results as very good if looking at financial ‘returns’’……

And a recent visitor (who vanished into the night quicker than our Premier League status) had the gall to call us bedwetters. Our fan base are 90% clappers…..

From a fairly well run, established PL club to where we are now with two relegations in recent years………
