And the likes of Saints, Sheff Wednesday, Notts. County, Accrington, Eastleigh etc. would never see the so called ‘top flight’……. |

Football and Saints lost its soul when we sold out to the Devil (BSkyB / Premier League). Whilst football in the 90’s changed massively (and has since), the final straw will be a closed shop American style top league containing the worlds elite. Games thereafter will be played in Outer Mongolia to appease the United and Scouse plastics. I just want an honest owner that knows the history of Saints, not some shonky crook ala Pompey style those years back that shafted charities. [Post edited 30 Apr 13:12]

Said months ago that I personally would clear the decks completely. Stick every single player on the transfer list and start afresh. Yes there are one or two players wcdaj for us in the Championship, but the mindset is shot. What I don’t get is that a lot of our fans are as bad now by underselling what a wonderful club Saints are and looking at ‘hip’ and useless managers. We should be aiming far higher than we are in getting someone in who knows the Chsmpionship inside out and how to build a solid spine to a team. |

Not going as there are no trains and I really do need to be inebriated to watch Saints. Driving is not an option |

‘Footballers are still loyal to the clubs they are under contract to’ - I would say ‘loosely speaking’ as Big Virg or players wanting a lucrative move weren’t 😉 [Post edited 22 Apr 13:51]

The Party Time thread / post was intended to be tongue in cheek. Whilst I jest and took the pïss, part of me was chuffed to nuts that we had finally reached Derby’s tally (I don’t want my club to set yet another record for all the wrong reasons). If we muster one more point then I think we should be given an additional day off to get over the celebrations along with a huge reduction in next years ST price (I ain’t joking mind on the latter). A rubbish season? absolutely, but let’s hope the clowns running the asylum have learnt some valuable lessons and begin to get things right (on the pitch side of matters). |

And Omer Riza is now on the market - come on Spors, get a deal done. Saints FC - We Lead, Others Follow |

A Celebration of Success on equalling Derby’s points tally. One more point to muster and then let the open top bus shenanigans begin. We March On |

Absolutely. Post Koeman was when things started progressively getting worst. At the time I wasn’t a major fan of Puel (mainly due to the scant regard he gave Europe when we had bust a ball to get there). Mind you looking back now he is the best of the bad bunch since. Anyone that cites Rylan can swing as I still hold that his ego and approach put us on the back foot this season from the off. Football a lot of the time is about momentum and confidence and whilst are squad really isn’t great, I still think there was enough within not be relegated by xmas. [Post edited 19 Apr 12:32]

I don’t get the love in with Rohl. Not saying I am anti but seriously, whilst we have endured relegations the last few years, surely we can pull a manager that has decent experience of Championship football at a ‘reasonable’ level? Someone who knows league and how to put together the nucleus of a team with ‘bruiser’ mentality / spine. Have we seriously fallen so far down the pecking order that we cannot find someone who has done something with a modicum of success near the upper end….. [Post edited 19 Apr 12:23]

‘Dull football’ - Christ not another of that ilk. I think that would deffo help me on the ST renewal front….. |

Absolutely / 100% Blessed to be a Saints fan (for all its problems) and can deffo not be labelled a Glory Hunter that’s for sure. Whilst 130 and Portchy tend to struggle with ‘facts’, at least (so far as supporting a non fashionable club goes) they follow a shït team too (whatever the latest guise / name) [Post edited 16 Apr 13:33]

Wembley Play Off final was a splendid day on the sauce with a fantastic result and certainly one of those fab days you (or I certainly) breathe it all in and love the game. What has happened since mind does leave a lot to be desired. Whilst I know (personally) I am probably a moaning old bar steward, I do totally get what you are saying and do try to be positive where poss. |
