There does seem to be a reasonable sprinkling of bat sh1t crazy about us at the moment. Mbengue and his after match celebrations, Kone whipping up the fans. It is very QPR. |

That shot would have gone in without the little touch from the defender that the officials failed to spot |

We'll see about Andrews. I have my doubts about him when the going gets tough. But that kit is effing gross. |

Got to say I thought the ref was useless most of the day. Mbengue booked for no worse than a 50/50 challenge at almost exactly the same spot in our half as Koki was haviong his hirt torn off earlier. Stop play for an incidentb wheee we are in possession because their goalie and defender lie down holding their heads and jump up nthe minute the free is awarded. Might have spotted that would be the case if he'd been watching the incident. Dunne's booking. Burrell's booking. Three additional minutes in the first half that had to be closer to ten. Spent most of the day wandering about like he was happy to be there. Useless. |

At the moment, we haven't played more than one league game a week. As the three game weeks come along, him, Chair, Poku, Frey and Kolli will be important. |

Watching bus stop play at the tarquins in the worst away kit I've seen since Coventry's chocolate sh1t stain design the day we beat them 5-1. Because it's 2025, we can't call it chocolate sh1t stain any more, so this one is called diarrhoea brown |

Once he and Burrell get used to playing together, they are going to tear this division up. |

A very enjoyable day from start to finish. Though that was the best atmosphere at a 12.30 ko for a long time, rocking from the get go. The first time this season I felt we've looked properly secure defensively. Thought we always looked more dangerous than Stoke going forward; how many times have we been able to say that in the last 10 years. And we've won a game that we deserved to, against good opposition. I don't think there's going to be many Championship teams with a better combo than Kone and Burrell. And I think Vale is going to be immense for us. Calm, assured, always seems to have time on the ball, picks the right option when he releases it. I think he's Prem material. There it is again. Hope. Optimism. Enjoying it while it's around. |

I agree with you here swiss, and I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more comment about how bread and butter punts upfield causes us far more trouble than it should. However, the threat we now possess in attacking positions will soon get noticed. It should keep opposition full backs from getting too far forward, and will probably tie up one central midfielder too. In other words, it will begin to blunt attacking numbers against us and hopefully give us less holes to fill when we defend. That's my hope anyway.. |

Well what I'll say in response, and not withsstanding your caveat Myke which I accept, is that I don't post a huge amount these days, and I certainly didn't go into meltdown on here after Coventry. The only general comment I've made is that the games before the transfer window slams shut are invariably almost like an extension of the pre season for clubs like ours because we're usually forced to do our business late on. So I don't tend to get too over excited by the August results. More specifically, goals scored by good team passing and movement will always be memorable. Especially in our case, as generally we've been through years and years of watching our goals bouncing in off people's knees and @rses, and been grateful for it. No matter the level we are playing at, for the first time since the half season of Agyemang, Buzsaky and Vine, we've got a forward line that other teams at our level will fear. So if I choose to be excited and make comparisons to little moments from better times, 53 years of watching what for 80% of the time has been dross means I won't be apologising for it. |

Someone else on another thread compared it to Gerry Francis’ goal against Liverpool all those years ago that won BBC Goal of the Season and I’m inclined to agree. Lovely team goal. |

Honestly. All the years this daft old bugger has been posting this sort of thing and you still all fall for it. The title in CAPITAL LETTERS SO YOU'LL ALL BE FORCED TO NOTICE IT. The statement from a bloke who played a bit of semi pro football about 70 years ago treating you all as though you are punters who have no understanding at all of how football works. The bloke who gets fed a little bit of inside info and then repeats it as though it's his view on what's happening. Every bit as much a troll as the more obvious candidates on here. Shocking. |

I mean if I was the club, I’d want everyone to think the sell on element is lower than is actually the case |

As it's you asking, and I can almost feel you smirking as you type your text, it'll either be a left back with long shorts who has never crossed the halfway line in his professional career. Maybe John Curtis. Or Jack Colback. |

Really am not interested in hearing a weekly account of how he's getting on tbh.. Hardly ever played for us, never scored for us, didn't want to be here. Best off out of here. |
 | Forum Reply | Harvey Vale: The answer to our problems? at 12:26 18 Aug 2025
I'm assuming that would be in a 433. I've been wondering whether we might be better suited to 352. If JS is looking to get the full backs high up and attacking, and given we don't have great pace amongst our centre backs (outside of Mbengue), it seems to me that extra CB might work better. The argument against is that the 4231 or 433 seems to be the club's preferred formation. |
