I’d snap your hands off for two points from these next two to keep our heads above water and pray we stumble over the line with two Easter fixtures against teams with probably nothing to play for. Even against a side as poor as Cardiff I’m not liking the look of what’s available one bit.
But I’m away which historically improves our chances.
Friday would do me a favour too. Episode 1652 in Sky taking the piss. Potentially a game to get Burnley promoted and fans don’t know if they need to book a day off work let alone the KO time 24 days before. My guess would be it’s anything but 3pm Saturday and they’ll have Burnley, Sheff U and Leeds on on that weekend in a wild variety of slots.
A QPR statement read: "Queens Park Rangers Football Club can confirm the Metropolitan Police have concluded their investigation into this matter and have confirmed there is no action to be taken.
"The club expresses its gratitude to the Metropolitan Police for their thorough approach to the process.
"The academy players, who maintained their innocence throughout, look forward to putting this behind them and continuing to focus on their careers."
He’s a (for us) big money signing so he’s going to get more focus than, say, Morgan who was also very poor but not really a comparable player in terms of expectations. A long injury list and he’s miles off a start and whenever he’s given a chance he might as well not be there. We don’t ask for much from these players and he’s getting nowhere close to that so obviously he’s got less credit than a previously decent player in poor form or a kid/squad player. The guy needs to be seen in the flesh especially away from home to appreciate how truly nothing he is.
Having witnessed that Boro game in the flesh I thought that was as poor as this lot could play. Didn’t bother Saturday and I’m glad what I saw online is more than backed up by those there. Absolutely cooked almost all of them. Cardiff could be very ugly especially if Derby win midweek which looks probable.
Some abysmal team stats. Nine touches in the opposition box despite apparently chasing the game for 80 minutes. One cross to our man. Three dribbles without losing the ball. Comfortably losing the “duels”.
Poor result yesterday and their form is pretty rank but he’s kept them up with ease. Met him at a big screen thing for one of the England Euros matches and he was a bundle of energy and had loads of time to chat QPR.
The FA I believe. But these types of transfers at the top level pretty much never happen. Player swaps were more of a thing in the past I’m sure. £2m + Dowie + Keith Rowland = Triffic.
Good for us of course if he leaves but I wonder if they’ll just coach the creativity out of him like Grealish and all the duds at United. A very distant second to us ever getting close but seeing him lift the the cup for Palace would be a kind of proud moment.
If we have a quarter-final in my lifetime I’ll struggle to sleep for a week and probably throwing up with nerves. Fulham fans look like they’ve just bought their £8 strawberries and cream to sit on Henman Hill.
Pure Eze for both goals. The one he scored was much like the one at Preston just before Covid.
Watched the clip and he obviously doesn’t do a Nazi salute which would’ve been a big step too far. Joking that he’s a German spy really isn’t a big deal. Even nowadays I expect marginally better from The Guardian.
I wouldn’t be considering it myself but I think it’s going to cross the mind of any board should we stumble through these last games and end up narrowly staying up. Don’t think it’ll happen even if that turns out to be the case.
It’s that fun time of year where some out of contract players know where they’re heading and pick up mysterious injuries and others are desperate to do enough for a new contract or get themselves in the proverbial shop window. I’m excited.
