Actually think an instinct for goal is all he does have. With perfect service which no team in this league will give you let alone us he probably would score plenty. But football now doesn’t have strikers like that. He offers so, so painfully little outside the box. Seems so easy to play against and allows defences to push up on us because he’s slower than rust. The strength of this team, if they’re fit and two have now exploded already, is the three behind the striker. With Burrell Preston were forced back a bit and it got us up the pitch and gave those guys a bit more space to play. |

Feel a bit for him actually thus far. The disallowed goal I think is a clear foul but because the forward is tiny it doesn’t look much. Players throwing themselves over very easily and Hinchcliffe far too busy drooling over Birmingham to call what he’s seeing on replays. Then he tries to let a foul by Bright go to let the game flow and it boils over a bit. Saying that he’s just given a fk for the most bog standard midfield tackle you’ll find. |

Still have nightmares about his performance on a cold midweek night at Boro. Not for me, Clive. |

Loved that whole team back then as a teen. He had plenty of an ability, big and strong for a winger, bit of pace. I’m sure I’ve read or heard (maybe on here) he was more than a bit of a loose cannon off the pitch / in training. Had a bit of a purple patch at Swansea with Jackett then faded quickly. |

As stated, we aren’t exactly blessed with defensive midfield options and I’m not confident we’ll have Varane much longer. But when he has played at the back he’s been good IMO. Think maybe that’s the next step for him as he nears 30. |

On the strikers, we’re in a league where Nathan Broadhead moves for £7.5m. It’s going to be a punt from abroad or lower leagues based on stats/scouting/finding a solution outside of the existing set of strikers. Maybe that is Burrell or Celar or Frey or someone else. Maybe Kolli’s dad shuts up for five minutes and he gets a run in the side up front and does it. Maybe none of those things happen but we aren’t buying a proven Champ striker and nor should we for the money. £4m for Kieffer Moore well past 30 ffs. |

Boro and Stafford as is Rangers tradition bow out at the first hurdle. Concord’s cup dreams remain alive with a draw. |

Worth bearing in mind they’re a week further out. On paper, if they lose Wissa especially, you’d think they’ll struggle but I’d trust their chairman more than most to have got it right. Didn’t watch today because it, IMO, means nothing. |

I shall be cheering on Boro Rangers away at Easington Coliery. Other Rangers in Stafford and Concord. Oldford Abbotonians v Wallingford & Crowmarsh sounds very civil. |

Could you wait until after Wrexham? Need to maximise my chances for that and need a second for Aunt Nelly |

He’s worked with computers every day I’ve been alive and probably a decade before. I’ve screenshotted and sent him step by step instructions on how to do it on his phone. I dread to think what tech my future kids will be failing to explain to me some day. |

Would be nice in general if they gave a bit more notice of when tickets are to go on sale so people can plan with work or whatever to be free for 15 mins at the right time. My dad can never get tickets sorted online and I’ve been telling him for about two years it’s because of the browser he’s using which he has failed to change and I’ve given up so I’d recommend trying a different browser. Always works very quickly for me on my phone. |

In a 15000 crowd I doubt we’re shifting 1000. A nice memento for a really big game but I can’t remember when I last bought one and would rather go for AKUTRs which I inevitably then lose on the train home anyway. Plus the environment innit. Clubs will have green targets like it or not. |

I don’t begrudge him making the move he did when he did but he seems to go out his way to be a prick every time he’s back. Also don’t think he’s a particularly good player any more for a club supposedly expecting to be top end of the league bar the occasional long throw. |

Having laid out £600 or whatever it was only to see almost every home game in the early part of the season moved to a less convenient time it feels a move which will increase revenue very marginally while pissing off loyal fans. Fair enough if it’s a 3pm game or 7:45 midweek but I think a club at our level should be showing more flexibility given the ridiculousness of the Division Two TV schedule especially when Sky love doing the short hop to our place rather than traipsing to Blackburn. |
 | Forum Reply | Morecambe FC RIP at 23:21 31 Jul 2025
The Morecambe story is a particularly odd one. They have a willing buyer who has passed the EFL test (for whatever that is worth, though apparently worth more than it used to be). The current bloke just refuses to give it up for no obvious reason and has a long record of dissolving companies including a Worcester rugby team. First three matches already cancelled as the insurance hasn’t been paid. Derek Adams (manager) is helping players financially where he can and the senior players they have left will be on very modest wages. Feels like it’s the end which is always sad but feels a bit more so in a part of the country with not much else going on. |

When I have to drive I go for Conningham Road or around there, the other side of Uxbridge Road. Free on Saturdays unless you’re very close to Uxbridge Road and generally quicker to get away. |
