at 11:10 19 Mar 2025

Now Chief Executive Officer.

Swansea City is delighted to announce the promotion of Tom Gorringe to Chief Executive Officer of the club.

Tom brings with him over 15 years of experience in professional football, the majority of which has been in the Premier League and Championship. He joined the club as Chief Operating Officer at the start of the year, and in his new role, will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the football club.

Tom has a reputation for demonstrating strong financial management at his previous clubs, improving infrastructure, increasing revenues, driving the matchday experience whilst also ensuring operational efficiency.

"I’m under no illusions that there is a lot to do, but I am excited to take on this role at the club. Since joining, I have been impressed with the staff and the vast potential at the club as well as the ambition of the ownership group. We have everything that we need here to be successful. We want to build on our strong foundations and drive the club towards sustainable success that gets us back to competing at the top of the division. The ownership group is fully committed to delivering success for this club, and I’m honoured to be the person that they’ve entrusted to deliver for them.”

Coventry currently 2-0 up and on a fantastic run of form could be dark horses for promotion. Grimes could actually be a Premier League player next season.

Will be enforced from this summer. More controversy in my opinion, it should be enforced but will be a nightmare to regulate.

Currently getting stuffed again and bottom of the league on 9 points from 27 games. The bottom three in the Premier League are the ones who went up. Luton went up, came down and look like going out the bottom. Within the current football structure is promotion really worth it? Yes there always has to be an aim to be the best you can. But is it more important to have a sound development strategy within a club to build a sustainable future if you go up and come down, rather than just build a squad for promotion.

All the talk seems to be about transfers and non transfers. Well after a couple of weeks of total disillusionment I'm looking forward to this one. How we shape up and play without Grimes will be fascinating.

2-0 win 14,300 start of a new era.
