Just left the cinema after watching this. What a great film. The near 3 hours flew by. Great cast and story.
The only bit I didn't really warm to was the creepy old white men, sitting round the table in their secret society with their closing mantra of "All Hail St Nick". That made me think of a chilling dystopian society, where the living would envy the dead. |

But those songs are still known 60+ years later. The Beatles broke new ground. British bands just didn't write their own stuff. They opened the door for so many as they insisted on writing their own music (George Martin wanted them to release "How do you do...." which Freddie and the Dreamers released.
Yellow Submarine is basically a kids song which everyone knows. It's origin is pretty dark though, and was another Lennon cry for help
Twist and Shout was a cover. And also.covered by Ferris Bueller
Queen are the band I don't get. I know they were brilliant, but just not for me (though like a few songs) |

I have a couple of good mates who are Skates, and am meeting them bith for a beer Monday. I feel sick about the game at the minute, so will see how it goes as to whether I turn up 🙂
My eldest lad is away with the Navy at the minute. He thinks they are going in to a blackout zone from Sunday for a few days so won't be able to use WiFi or data. The boat captain has said he'll do an announcement if the Skates win, so no news could be good news |

Mini bus to a game in Bratislava in 2002. Wrong turning taken which took us to the edge of Brussels, missed junctions on autobahn which added something like 100 miles, held and fined at Czech border, held and fined 20 yards later at Slovak border, motorway shut because of the rain (one of the fines was because we didn't have a sticker which enabled us to drive on the motorway-a sticker we couldn't buy till we went past the very people fining us) alcohol ban in Bratislava, match in doubt because of the rain and stories of an England fan getting shot. We went home via Amsterdam as we deserved it |

Its not that entertaining reading that every trait is 'typical of lefties' either. Everything is so divisive these days. You two aren't going to agree, and you aren't going to sort out the issues in this country or the Middle East either, so maybe draw a line? |

Had that same conversation last night. They are a decent team with little chance of struggling. They could win it.
I'm still angry that we didn't take the cups seriously enough under Koeman and Poch. |
