Thats mine bought..another 3 mates buying too. I was going to wait and change seats to get away from fans behind, who sometimes bring kids who love to kick my chair constantly at games. I was going to go in the block behind mcnulty for additional entertainment and a watch of subs and Manager posture and reactions, but the metal post there obstruct the view. ill settle for an aisle seat for a quick getaway or easy trip to the catering. Block E
Really good game for a neutral. End to end, without much game management to be clever to manage the score line, just two teams attacking giving there all. Uchebeglum with an assist. Gratz oldham.wish it was us though. Allthough think weve had lost by set pieces or going defensive.
Barnet did it. If we can get some decent pro's with real EFL league experience, instead of relying on youthful exuberence and raw talent. get some guys in between 28-35, those that have maybe injury issues etc but been there and done it. Mix them up with a youthful side Barnet had a pretty experienced large but cheap side.
I agree, As much as 4th place and two Wembley chances is not good enough for some. I don't think tearing strips out of the bloke constantly is fair. I say we should be re-grouping and get ready to go again, support our team, buy season tickets - encourage and back. Obviously if recruitments rubbish and its a poor start then he deserves stick.
If your subbing our best players and making us weaker then at least do it towards the end of the game. A side playing well and we start tinkering with the formation on 60 odd minutes. Going defensive, in these games the opposition are going to throw the kitchen sink at us and were only going to keep them out for so long. Make them worry about us. Barlow being replaced was a mistake, we have no-one to come and replace his tenacity and aggressive attacking style. He didn't look injured. Bird too always a massive danger to them as each minute ticked down, he breaks free and we'll score again. Hold up play is excellent.. but my mate said he was limping about about abit but I didn't see that. Kiaro's a weak player up front, I shuddered when he came on.
A run out, a casual performance in the bank holiday sun It would have been nice to see more effort and creatvity in front of their goal.
Good in possession awful in front of their goal.
No big deal, next game, hopefully jim selects a strong line up, no fancy strategy. and has the players playing with pace and urgency unlike the vase semi. Applying fast and zippy passing from the first whistle
Thank the lord. Risky I thought leaving 5 players out of the start, as this is nothing but a brilliant result for us. Few thousand fans now get the chance to watch the game live at Spotland.
Whatever happens the build up and dreams of getting to Wembley for a few weeks puts the smiles on Daleys faces. For a bit anyway. Even the grumpy kecks amongst us, will be able to crack a smile I'm sure. Lose and I think we've still done us proud this season. Win and another great few weeks.
I've expected we are going to get these dull games while Jim builds for the future and patient for him to get better players in.
I'll take 5th all day long, with this style of play. Playing this possession style I get it, and been entertained in lots of games this season. when were doing well. Playing with sharpness its great, however, when not - its down right garbage to watch.
For me and for Mcnultys style to work, we need sharp dudes on the pitch. no sloppyness, all players having a bit skill, playing on bobbly national league pitches. I know these type of players aren't cheap, so maybe he should take a chance on more vastly experienced players, that drop down the leagues as they have maybe injury risks and become cheaper to buy, its a gamble but with a bigger squad we could support this tactic.
Also hindering our progress to being even better, to cope with a change of play, a good tough guy, a target man with ball control. We've seen how Jay bird turned our season round when he played.
Still a work in progress but improving year on year in this division.
One bad defensive mistake. And if thay didn't happen most would be saying that was a great hard earned result . It was tough game for the lads. Thought they put more effort in than in previous games .Against a big physical akward side.
Shame about the result. Got abit scruffy that 2nd half. no doubt both teams tired, resorting to sloppy passes and punts up field. .Dale unlucky to lose that one, overall the better side,tm sure there will be a few sore players in the morning.
Of course we shouldn't do it but, even playing an injured Bird is better than playing Mitchell as a center forward. At the moment.
Him coming to the Dale has highlighted how desperately poor we are in that position handling high balls and 50/50 passes. A frustrating watch hes not strong enough, and easily bullied off the ball, just puts a token effort in to try. We shouldn't bother with any high balls just pass it straight into his feet. or go up the wings.
Devante's also gone backwards. A strong lad but appears to lacks confidence in control, and ability to use his physique, to create opportunities. Mostly settling for short passes.
I hope Jay gets fit, continues to make a nuisance of himself, dragging defenders about and banging them in.
