So no pre warning, that bags aren't allowed ?
What's the matter with Dale at the Top Table, it's the same old, two steps forward and one step backwards and/or visa versa !

New Season, new mindset required.
at 13:14 2 Jul 2025

As a fan base I believe that we have to insist upon a review and overhaul the Greg and Big Jim post match show, it's an embarrassing pointless exercise, I've stopped watching, there are enough dissatisfied active customers on this forum to affect change and provide Dale Fans with something other than a pre scripted love in !

Good post Sutty, just like most posts on the subject, I don't think that he can/will learn, to me Big Jim seems blinkered, his way or the high way, his recent interview like many before was a car crash an ideal oppertunity to rally the troops for the coming season, sadly missed, I'm thinking whist I type, sorry I'm going off track but it's been said previously he's attracting the types of players who are passive, meek and mild natured, the types of personalities I wouldn't want in the trenches with me unless it carrying water or running errands, he seems to recruit players who readily accept his personal take on the game and won't/don't challenge him, players who he can easily befriend, for me he doesn't have any credit tokens left in the Bank should he single headedly lose us an important game like he did against Southend then that'll surely be the beginning of Big Jim's demise !

Incoming ..... another club teaser
at 15:46 1 Jun 2025

I've stated this previously, surely we have someone in the squad who's able to throw a ball into the oppositions box, then I realised that McNumpty will never advocate the "long throw" as it's much too crude of a tactic for his "tippy, tappy tripe" style of play - having said you're spot on Yorkshire you need someone on the end of it and Mitchell was a tap in specialist from not so hard low crosses from wide, he couldn't/can't head or control a high ball therefore, no point in a long throw when he was in the team !

Dale Released List Confirmed
at 12:33 24 May 2025

Exactly 442, baffling to say the least, for whatever reason McNulty doesn't like Ferguson however, as far as I'm concerned he has lots of untapped potential, when he played he didn't put a foot wrong, I can only hope that he finds another club (he will) gets plenty of on pitch minutes and proves McNumpty wrong, again !

Should he stay or should he go?

What types of players are you looking to recruit ?
Well Greg, Erm - I shan't be recruiting any big personalities, you know those players with their own tactical opinions, those types who express themselves on and off the pitch, those who lift the dressing room and excite the fan's, you see Greg that's my job ..........

Should he stay or should he go?
at 12:02 18 May 2025

Excellent post Sutty, as have the vast majority on this thread, regarding not so big Jim "should he stay or should he go" I believe that most Dale fans are singing from the same hymn sheet that it's time for a change, as many have stated that sadly won't be coming to fruition for at least another season !
I'd like to add if I may, my take is that Jim has similar attitude (Dale having reached the play off remit but not being good enough for promotion) to the sales person thats instructed by the sales manager to sell 100 units of whatever from January through to end of December, the target is met by November an order for a further 20 units comes in early December, the sales person has fulfilled the objective and refuses sell the additional 20 units - I've done what was asked and I'm happy with that !
Jim will never sign players with "big characters" you know the types you'd want in the trenches with you, as these types of players usually come with their own idea's, views and opinions and aren't afraid to share them, this type of personality may prove to be too challenging for him to manage !
Jim's post match interviews have become totally embarrassing, staged managed verbal diarrhoea, I'm suggesting that the Club dispense with the current Club employee interviewer and access a credible interviewer or scrap the whole thing altogether !

TVOS Preview - Rochdale v Southend United (Playoffs)
at 10:53 16 May 2025

Whoever we recruit they'll have a certain personality that enables them to sing to Big Jim's tune, no idea's, no opinions, no suggestions, someone on the forum previously referenced the "battleground" when it comes to fixing bayonets going over the top Jim's trenches will be full of first aiders, message runners and water carriers!
There's no better time (my opinion) for a change than the present, sadly it won't happen I know !

Comedy Night @ The Ratcliffe

I thought that Big Jim would have been the star turn as he has a brilliant comedy act, can you arrange an away fans special night - guaranteed to be laughing their bollocks off, it might even lead to a money spinning national tour !

KM can't head, he can't trap, he can't shoot or should I say he needs to work upon all these aspects of his game however, he certainly isn't lazy - I'd like to see his running stats, by my reckoning his mileage per game is likely to be up there with the most active in the squad !

I'm predicting that come 17.00 on Monday we shall have nicked Oldham's all important forth spot then it'll be in our hands to keep or throw away !

I'm primarily responding to your "Mitchell first half when 1v1 with the keeper is horrendous" Dale 4 Life - It must be very disappointing for players when they experience what I can best describe as a dip in form, I don't wish to kick a man when he's down but we are talking relatively highly paid professional footballers here, I watch Dog and Duck Sunday league football, these lads work (and play) hard all week and pay for the privilege of playing, I realise that there's a massive gulf between professional and amateur football however, in the same situation there are 2 - 3 lads in the Sunday team which I support would have put Mitchell's "horrendous miss" away with ease, I see them do it every week!
I totally agree, I'm most of all frustrated with Mitchell's more recent performances, I've said it previously he can't head the ball, he can't trap the ball, he can't hold up the ball, pass nor shoot, tap in's from not so hard crosses were his forte in the not to distant past , even the crosses which he solely relied seem to have dried up, with out the required service he'd struggle to be selected for the Dog and Duck starting eleven at the moment !

I've suggested this previously that the loan Keeper Barrett seems to me to prefer to cushion his dives with his hands and arms rather that attempt to block and/or catch the ball, has anyone else noticed this ?

Excellent Sandyman, I thoroughly agree with everything you've posted here, I'd like you add that pre match I suggested that Spennymoor would come to the COA all guns blazing looking to win the game whilst Dale would be instructed to play tippy tappy tripe....... however, I have to admit that in my heart of hearts I was very confident that this morning I along with hoards of Dale fans would be making their arrangements for their visit to Wembley !

Well done 58 - there's no denying that you're a top Dale supporter and that you've been attending game for 58 years, I'm not sure the reason you've afforded that information however, that doesn't prevent you from being somewhat of a hot head as your response suggests, you've asked if I'm for real, I am but REAListic Dale isn't, that the point I was attempting to make when you gobbled up the bait !
