Maryland and US soccer top ref instructors words not mine. Ref with that rule certainly helps unless etc. some games I do have 2 refs not 3. A Quagmire at times. 2 refs calling and interpreting different things. |

Shearer when playing was always trying it on with refs. Becomes a pundit and now a bloody expert on referees getting it wrong or right. Shearer you tw@t you were always tying to con the ref.
Pundits etc never castigate players for any shyte housery. How difficult does that make it for the ref?

Pushing, shoving or full on assaults in this country hardly ever get called. American sports more gladiatorial then soccers hunting and gathering. Too many ACL injuries I’ve seen, very sad. 12-18 months out.
There are some well dodgy refs out there admittedly. They will never get any breaks when the people calling them out have never done it. When I left the Uk Middx was short of 1,000 refs every weekend. Know one wants the shyte that comes with the gig especially young people.
The training by the FA and FIFA is second to none. Attended a few closed door presentations and believe me the training is meticulous. Thick skinned, an a hole or a Buddha like temperament required at the top level to survive. |

Until you have refereed at any level offering opinions is just that. It’s not for the faint of heart.
You don’t know that you don’t know.
Referee training now showing commentators for example so convinced about stuff but they don’t know the laws. To quote Martin Atkinson to my face. We will take anything that helps. What VAR,s role is the redeeming question. [Post edited 19 Oct 16:34]

Baffles me is how much these average midfielders cost. Just think how many great midfielders have we seen in the hoops and compare of late. Who’s running the show out there on the pitch?
Maybe more players need to rise through the pyramid and learn their craft rather then get sucked up by academy’s. |

Incoherent here.
a) Boston lamenting how the Ravens suck however Sheffield Wednesday being brought up in conversation made me think that really does suck compared to being a Raven fan.
b) The electrician is not a coked up meth head as far as I know.
c) The methhead told me the score, in a very shouty voice, implying I didn’t really know they were playing and when. The ravens not Sheffield Wednesday.
d) A colleague is going to take me to a ravens game. I agreed only on the premise I wouldn’t have to participate in high fives every 5 minutes.

An electrician came to my abode today who’s best mate was a Sheffield Wednesday fan.
Now that does suck.
A gentleman of no fixed abode and a regular participator of certain substances who walks around my neighborhood at 100mph informed me of this weekends plight while I was standing outside my house. That’s how I found out the result😃 [Post edited 13 Oct 14:57]

Players/teams at the highest level are there for numerous reasons. Playing at their optimum level and making fewest errors every game being 2 of them. Lot of players/teams can’t or don’t do that every game. Add a bit of good fortune as well into the mix. |
