Kelman 0 goals and 0 assists in 9 appearances, Celar 0 goals and 0 assists in only 4 Bundesliga 2 appearances (injured?) and Alfie Lloyd is yet to play any football. Ifs and buts, but we could already have been staring down the barrell of a gun here if Kone and Burrell weren’t shipped in. |

Massive kudos to Madsen. Here's a guy who had a, well, not so good, season, took abuse from fans and could easily have said "this is not working, let's move on". Instead, he stuck to it and is turning it around. His pre-season interview in Spain saying just that. For me again testimony that the club is attracting the right type of personalities at the moment. A far cry from the crowd we had here in the post Beale days. Well done Nicholas, keep it going! |
 | Forum Reply | COOK at 12:45 5 Oct 2025
I think Cook is arguably one of the top pro's at our club, if not the. Given his contract situation and where he is at in his career, many others in the same situation would probably have just played it out without too much stress. But he looks fully committed to the club and doing his best whenever he is called upon. Top bloke. We definitely need a leader like him. And that's without going into how important he was the previous two seasons to keep us up. |

Obviously not a great game or result, but I understand the thinking with the team selection and rotation. You would think the players who came in would have been keen to impress and highly motivated, but instead they proved rusty. Which highlights why we should perhaps get more minutes into the fringe players. I wasn't too surprised with the starting line-up, only maybe expected Kolli instead of Frey up front. And since the Mbengue suspension was almost a given, I would have played Cook & Morrison at CB. Sure, points dropped, but not too worried. We have to have bad games also, so learn from it and move on. |

When is this thing finally going to go tits up? Every month its missed payment and more transfer embargoes, but there doesn’t seem to be an end. Unbelievable that the players just keep plugging away. |
 | Forum Reply | Kone v Kelman at 06:26 30 Sep 2025
I’m guessing we haven’t moved the needle yet on any of the “added bonusses” that went with the Kelman sale. Pity for the lad and I wonder why he was so hell bent on leaving (if rumours are true). |

Highly unlikely, as Cook's extension clause (I believe) was based on appearances for a large part. Frey almost certainly would not have met such a clause. |

We have a much younger squad now, so the need for rotating during the 3-game weeks is less, imho. Its the 30+ guys who tend to struggle when there is a short turn-around, the young guns far more capable of managing it. I would expect small tweaks and/or changes that are like-for-like. Field, Cook, Smyth etc might get starts. And depending on the game situation, subs starting as soon as HT. Impressed by the minutes Kone is making at the moment, not often you see a striker play so many 90 min games consecutively. |

I think Alfie Lloyd's injury might have weighed in here. He should have been playing for Orient now, so we could evaluate and see if we can do the Kelman trade-in trick again or if he is just not going to make the grade. If the 2nd, we probably needed Frey to hang around a bit longer. I'm guessing we are now leaning towards this and in all honesty, that's where I am on Lloyd also. |
 | Forum Reply | Ronnie Edwards dropped from Saints Squad at 08:48 22 Sep 2025
Yep, I'd love Ronnie here. Its a matter of time before Mbengue gets suspended, then we will be on red alert again. And I like the idea of trying Ronnie in a CDM role. |

JS quietly delivering on his promise to make Loftus Road a tough place to come to. Unbeaten at home under him, 7 points from 9. |

Nardi in the Sky team of the week. While I certainly thought he did well, I didn't rate it that highly. Must have been a few horror performances in goal elsewhere. [Post edited 16 Sep 14:30]

Great report, thank you. I thought the ref had one blunder though: the Mbengue slide was nowhere near the opposition player who took a very theatrical dive inside the box. And the ref then gave a freekick outside of it. But maybe I got it wrong, though. Who cares now, anyway. |

I also thought our fitness looked much improved. Can't recall anyone looking really knackered and I think the subs yesterday were also very good. Right players in the right positions and the right time. A much toned down version of Mbengue, except for that odd lunge where the Wrexham player clearly took a dive and the ref gave a freekick for a "foul" inside the box. He looked very composed to me. Esquerdinha getting his development minutes, good to see. Hard to figure out where and how we are going to fit in Poku, Chair, JCS and Smyth. We might have a very luxurious thing calling "squad rotation" to work with soon. |
 | Forum Reply | Rumarn The Bolt Burrell at 08:23 14 Sep 2025
To add to what someone said on another thread about all our players back for corners: if we stick the greyhound around halfway line when we defend corners, opposition would have to drop back at least 2 for cover and someone to block balls getting to him, so takes out probably 3 attacking players from defending corners. Keeper seems to have lost his footing or was just unsure on what to do, caught out by the speed of how fast all of that happened. Trading in Kelman for Burrell and Kone now seems like excellent business. Many (myself included) proven wrong (so far). [Post edited 13 Sep 16:41]
