Exactly. Brunton Park has a capacity of 18202, and their average gate this season is 7359. There's plenty of space, so not being able to "allocate an area capable of hosting up to 1,750 fans" is just tosh. They're purely out to make the experience for away fans an uncomfortable one.
Watching the Scunny game and their pitch is falling apart quite badly already. That's going to be a nightmare over winter. Obviously playing on it Saturday did it no good.
That was a really hard watch after half time, but still a win without playing well - pocket the 3 points and on to the next one. Much tougher games coming up so I hope the players can step it up for those.
Ref added 12 but it was like he had decided to try to play on until Southend equalised. He finally blew up when it looked more likely that Wealdstone would score again.
Don't want him sacked, just to acknowledge that it was his mistake yesterday and to then learn from it. Not stubbornly say it's the right thing to do to suit his own agenda and have the fans worried he will do it again.
He can learn from mistakes if he acknowledges that's what they are, but he doesn't seem to want to. He can defend it all he wants with "I believe and I'm told we have a strong squad" but sending out a whole new team after a classy performance from the "first 11" is piling unnecessary pressure on them players to perform the same way or not get into the first 11. It's terrible management in that moment and I, and seemingly everyone else, believe it's cost us yesterday's game and all the momentum we had.
Now it's done with and we move on and hope to win tomorrow to bring back the positivity.
In the interview he insists they did do very well, implying that he was right to make the changes because this weekend is so "dangerous". Then he goes on to say the lads that played Wednesday will play on Monday... so they can't have done that well today then, can they?
Changing 11 puts heaps of unnecessary pressure on all 11 starters today to perform after Wednesday's result, and the defeat has probably now dented their confidence. All for his selfish point-making about a schedule every other team in the division has, including the part-time clubs like Brackley.
