Bit of nostalgia for you, been working for a few months which has felt like years on a season review of the 1975/76 video, full video is about 2 and a half hours so not a quick watch but that full version will be on youtube on Thursday.
In the meantime links to all 7 parts are below, hopefully I covered most of it and people can enjoy it.
That is the most likely reason, he also didn't want to attend any other interview and cancelled the other fans forum in march as he didn't fancy it, no other reasons for him not attending. Nothing to see here
If you do make the whole lower loft rail seating you have to anounce that well in advance of season tickets for it to work so people can be moved if they want to. I think we might see that happen next summer with an announcement in January
There are certainly some positives. I really like the coaching approach to development, bringing in specialists like Bould and Betsy, in theory that should be a big help to achieve things,
Ultimatley it's all stuff we heard before but with a different voice, developing players, picking them up from other clubs, pathways to the first team, fans being patient and the aim is to be sustainable not win the league. We heard it all from les, Ramsey and so really it's just a new voice saying the same things in a different way.
Whether it goes better or not remains to be seen. Lets hope it does
Of course they won't say that but in recent interviews and again tonight that is what is implied that injuries were not as big a prolem as was made out
like most stats it's being measured to support the argument they want to make that injuries were not an issue last season and it was the managers fault for not rotating the squad well enough
This will probably change when we sign a few more players but with the current squad I'd go with this
League position: 15th Top goalscorer: Dembele - 10 Most assists: Madsen - 10 Player of the season: Varane Young player of the season: I'm hoping Alfie Tuck if he gets a chance Will Julien still be our manager come May '26: Y/N - Yes Most yellow cards: Sam Field Most red Cards: Mbengue DS player given most outings: - Tuck How many wins at home: - 7 Which player, surprisingly, smashed it this season: - Madsen Who, surprisingly, had a nightmare: - Sam Field Who will be our most saleable asset at the end of the season: - Dembele
it's a lot more stressful but is always the same when we care more. I can enjoy watching games on tv and don't care who wins but when it comes to QPR and England, no wonder my blood pressure is so high. My wife did suggest though that maybe if the men get to the final again I could not drink and just relax as I did at the weekend, maybe me being blind drunk and jumping around like a loon was why we lost those finals. If we get to the final next summer I'll give it a go
It was a good listen, I still find a lot of what he says frustrating but there was encouraging stuff as well
I really like the coaching stuff with specialist coaches, Betsy and Bould and the role they do both very good moves and will hopefully have an impact long term
On the transfers I do get that we needed to lower the age of the team but again with communication why not get that message out last summer rather than keep quiet. Lowering the age of the team is a good thing but they need to be good enough and not enough of them were.
The contract stuff he is not gonna change that but Dave made a great point about clubs knowing release clause without them being public knowledge
Kelman is a great example of it all being nonsense, They never announced to fans how long he had left on his deal but clubs clearly knew had a year left which is why they tried to buy him Fans knew as we pretty much put 2 and 2 together and it was also confirmed by several journalists online
The reason fans are not going mad about Kelman being sold is because we know he is out of contract next summer so knowing these things can be a big benefit to the club
Ben Williams - I found that all a bit ridiculous just hold your hands up and say you got it wrong, the lack of communication when he went it was all left up in the air. To say we were mid tabe for injuries ignores we had a small squad and the number of games we went into without a centre forward which us still going on in pre season and the number of games we had no centre halvesWas a ridiculous situation and to blame not managing the squad better in 3 game weeks is laughable when there was never any depth to allow for rotation
On the Dev Squad it is all basically what les and Ramsey were saying, time will tell if he actually delivers on that. It all sounds great being more ruthless and releasing players at 20 but we had Aoraha and Talla off the bench on Saturday, in their 20's with very limited chance of making it at QPR but not released, it's all similar to Les saying one but the reality doesn't always add up
Hearing him explain how he got the job was mad though, not really his fault but how did Hoos and co give him the keys to the castle to run everything based on being a sports journalists and then part of retexo for a few years. Whether he was 27 or 57 to get hat job based on his experience is insane
Ultimately I really hope it works out and he learns from past mistakes and we have a successful few years, I have major doubts but I really hope to be proved wrong
having a forward who can run in behind and stretch teams is a game changer for us, you saw it with lloyd last year and Armstrong the year before, the threat of his pace sees teams drop deeper and allows us to play a lot higher up the pitch and get the likes of Chair and Dembele on the ball in better areas.
No idea if this kid is any good or not but he's the type of forward we need
finding a place for him in the team is tricky, he did Ok on the left at the weekend. He has a real end product so want him in the team but I don't think you can play him, Chair and Poku in the same side and not get carved open. Chair defensivley has got a lot worse the last few seasons
It was a great watch, so weird to watch England in a final and not feel the kind of stress and anxiety I did with the mens last year, caring a bit less made it a bit more enjoyable. Plus thats the first time I've ever seen a senior team win anything as I was away in 2022 so again a really weird feeling seeing us actually achieve something.
Thought they played well, defended superbly especially Jess Carter who had been ropey earlier in the tournament but immense yesterday.
Chloe Kelly is a gem, her cross for the goal and her penalty justy superb in key momenbts, imsgaine scoring the winning goal in two finals, she deserves all the plaudits coming her way
I do enjoy the imperfections of the womens game, lots of mistakes makes for a far better game than you get at the top of the mens game where everything has become quite robotic
quite enjoyed the game, was nice to be back at Loftus Road
Two good goals but overall didn't really learn anything new. We are desperate for a forward or 2, is a farce that we've played 2 pre season games now without one.
In midfield we are not great at moving the ball out from the back and wide open when we lose the ball.
Could do with a left back as well, That long term Larkeshe deal already feels like a mistake
Lots to do but some positives as well, Dembele and Poku looked a threat, we played some really nice stuff at times as well
you can always rely on this site to take a turn in a direction you never expected. A thread about a Wrestler dying turns into one about Winston Churchill.
