That's only TWELVE days away though. Will we still get told that on the 23 June this year? |

That squad is weak as pss; sorry, mate. GKs OK Defence - CBs OK, no full back on either side - desperately bad Midfield - defensively OK, but no creative spark in there or ability to take the ball on the turn Wingers / Attacking Midfield - Chair championship quality; none of the others. Smyth - effort yes, no end product, Dembele - if he doesn't bulk up during the close season, his talents are worthless at this level, can't defend; Madsen - given time, can pick a pass, but no defensive bone in his body; Sutton / Morgan - kids Up front - unacceptable this season, no-one fit to play any more than 30 games, Celar woeful aside from 2 goals and about 30 minutes out of 18 games. Kelman a wild card, but I can't see him staying or, if he does, he leaves for nothing. So much work to do - first choice left and right back, creative / box to box midfielder, two wingers and a regularly available striker needed to make the first eleven passable. Oh, and probably a CB as JCS / Cook won't make 40 games between them next season. Its early in the summer, but as things stand, we're in the brown stuff YET AGAIN. |

QPR can bore the pants off me as long as they win. England, clearly I am less vested as I'd like to be entertained as these are, apparently, the world class players we have. I am not and therefore feel as much affinity with them as I do the other dull, boring Premier League teams. Tournaments are fun, but we remain a hard watch. |

Shocking wasn't it. If Southgate was bad, this guy is JFH level dull. Yet again England well overrated and 'kin boring to watch. Will continue to beat the little teams and fail when we come across another top 10 team. |

The thing at this stage is that we are QPR, so we WILL buy players and the majority of them will be huge gambles. The question then is will they come good? If the recruitment strategy remains the same, ie: getting in "ballers" with good technique, but limited physicality, athleticism and pace, well we're fckd. If the Injuries are solved by the Scarlet Pimpernel re-emerging from the desert, we might be less fckd. If they get more pragmatic and give some steel to add to the midget army up top, then we may be less fckd. If they hurry up and sort out a manager that fits the model and is aligned with the club's philosophy, maybe we're even more less fckd. So that's a whole heap of 6s we need to roll and with our track record as the club that will fall into a bucket of t*ts and coming our sucking our thumb, what do YOU reckon the chances are? |

Good luck Disco, my ol' message board buddy. Madness though. Been with mine 24 years and f-me, if we ever split up that'll do it for me; time to myself just spending the last days I have - yes please! Mine is great, but she is enough for a lifetime... Hope all goes well, D. |

A "baller". Lovely touch, lovely technique, would be a lovely Futsal player. Constantly targetted; admittedly frequently isolated, but he stood far too far off the attackers, poor on 1 on 1s, can't beat a man, delivered mainly crap crosses with the odd pearler and really did not want to be here after being told he'd be sold during the summer. Yes he was mostly available and mostly steady 6/10 each week, but I can't help feeling short-changed. I feel he was much better than he showed us. Good luck though; as most others said, he at least had a great attitude.. |

Disaster for the Championship. With the spending levels of Wrexham and Brum coming up, we also get to contend with yet another parachute club. Get recruitment wrong and we'll need to look for three weeker teams yet again... |

I am amazed he spent that long out there, but fair play to the lad; not his fault that our clown show ran his contract down. Loved watching him and hope that he gets given a ho in the Prem, just not in our league. I'll also be interested to see how defensive a RB he has become.. Somehow I think he might be better going forward than backward... |

Face it. We do not get nice things. Either he will not leave them as they are now in Europe OR such a swap deal will happen. No more money. Lower mid table (hopefully), it is for us 'til we drop a league. |

Wildly optimistic take that, Esox. Celar has been nothing short of abysmal bar a 20-25 minute spell v Cardiff and a 5 minute one v Watford. Lloyd is nowhere near Championship standard - he is improving and may get there (certainly far, far better towards the end of the season), but really could do with a season long loan. Kolli is an utter enigma. Flashes of great play, flashes of petulance, significant time way out of games, perpetually injured / ignored for big parts of the season and a short purple patch. Frey is simply not fit enough to be relied on and no indication that will improve. Kelman is the quandry. Play like we did throughout the majority of the season and like Celar and Kolli he will get battered by the big, mean Centre Defenders that live in the Championship. But he has proven that he can score. Maybe a change of style to better accommodate the "baller" 10s we have might benefit him and Celar? So, optimistically we'll be OK, but it is such a stretch. Being frank, none of them feel like the answer right now. |

I love the guy, but he cannot be relied on to be available. FIVE ninety minutes this season I think I heard from Clive and three of those he was unavailable for the next game. That is not good enough for a main striker. FORTY appearances in a season and a half is more than I thought, but still only around 60% of the games we have played since he got here. Then add in to this that this has been triggered, which may well mean that the club had no say and, if the rumours are true, might mean an increase in wages as per the deals that bought Anderson and Frey here. Now if THAT is the case, I'd be quite scared. ...but as always I doubt that anyone posts here (apart from these new ones who seem to only post up propaganda) has a clue what the terms are, so on a playing level I am happy, on a fitness / availability level I am scared and who knows what I think about value for money... |

Yeah, but on THAT team, Haaland works. Time will tell if that sort of player works in OUR team. The other 10 players are slightly better at Man C, don't you think? [Post edited 10 May 18:10]

It's not all about the goals he has scored though. We have to bring him in at the start of pre-season and evaluate him. He may work out, he may not. I do not profess to have seen too much of him this season, but I have watched a couple of games including today's one and I just don't see much there that would endear him to me. Yes, the goals are really important and the tally is massively impressive, but he doesn't seem to be involved enough in the game. Not a big presser, not a target man as he doesn't seem to hold up particularly well and isn't any presence defensively. But. The. Goals. Got to try him, got to have everything crossed that I am wrong, but from what I have seen, it is no shoe in that he will solve our long standing goalscoring issues. |
 | Forum Reply | Parachute payments at 13:39 10 May 2025
There will always be statistical anomalies, but they are getting rarer and rarer. Sheff U go up and that's 3 from 3 with parachute payments. Ipswich the anomaly last season, Luton the season before. How long since three (or even) two clubs without parachute payments went up? |
 | Forum Reply | Jonathan Varane contract extension at 13:36 10 May 2025
...and this just about sums it all up. Nothing we can do (or nothing that we are, collectively prepared to do), so no choice but to suck it all up. Yeah, we can whinge and may get the odd "victory" such as Injury updates, but whilst some think this is OUR club, other people actually own it and THEY are making the decisions for better or for worse. So, yeah, it's shite, bit where do I chuck my money? |
