Never managed to do it on line; always has to be on the phone to the box office unfortunately... |

Dickie had to make up for his abysmal period of phoning performances earlier in that season. Playing for a BC contract; he wasn't doing it for us. |

If as most of us suspect Steve Cook is going to be offered a 1 year deal on big wages, I'd rather spend that money on Jimmy. I know wages apparently are not the thing with Jimmy, its the length of contract, but I do not trust the board to replace him with anyone nearly as effective in this team. I am not dumb enough to come out with a "pay him whatever he wants", but he has done enough this season to prove himself a really valuable member of the squad and I am fairly sure that he'd be a shoo-in for PotS if he had committed himself to the club long term. Yes, he is limited (but who isn't), but I doubt that he would let us down, so offer him a bit more than most, but don't break the budget... I think he will go though as his head will be turned by bigger offers... |

I thought that he was inconsistent throughout and certainly Bristol C players had to work harder to get booked. Their no. 3 (Pring?) committed 5-6 fouls, a few of them quite cynical and petulant yet he wasn't even spoken to. Colback's one was a yellow (thanks, JV) though. In the first half for one of our corners, Pring is literally facing Jimmy Dunne with both hands grabbing his shirt at the chest and clearly holding him back. The fact that Jimmy won the header should not change the fact that is a foul and its in the penalty area, but that seems to be fair game these days - anywhere else on the pitch, fine, but there, clearly not. The foul by Dickie on Saito in the pen area was sooooo Dickie-esque - done for pace, trying to get back, late, clumsy - a pen. Just because Saito had off loaded the ball before there was contact matters not, there was contact and he was clearly taken down. ...and to show he wasn't bias, the Saito chance came from Min Hyeok's blatant push on their full back, with the ref looking directly at it. Useless, like most of them still are... |
 | Forum Reply | Colback has shown the grit we have needed at 19:56 10 Apr 2025
Think he's been great since he came back from injury. He is a quality player at this level and just adds class; he does everything so smoothly and rarely loses the ball. Also won the in midfield to set Dembele off for the third - faultless. But, unless he will sign for peanuts, I doubt he'll bit available for too many games next season and, as we know availability is the main ability we've been missing for the last few seasons... |

Easy to forget when you are a QPR fan, but I suspect Oxford's start was a lot to do with nerves. They had a great win on Saturday, but this was a game they would have targeted because they are good at home and we are crap away. They did not look fluid at all until that spell when Varane put us under pressure with the silly pass back to Nardi and Madsen did his flick. After they scored and bought the young lad on, their tails were up and they had a renewed energy and upped the press. We really, really needed Yang's goal to kill them off... |

I thought that those of us on a winning streak of starting the match thread get first dibs on the next one? City will be well up for it and we might not be although I'd hope that we get a striker back for that one... Hoping for a 2-0 win Armstrong and Dickie OGs would be LOVELY. Not sure why Dickie always gets off lightly with our fans. He absolutely phoned it in in that last half season where he was utterly, utterly crap and quite clearly wanted away. Thought he was better than us, so hope that Bristol C fail to keep him at this level... |

He did ok, but does not have a defensive bone in his body. I am not a Paal fan, but he had to play well tonight because he was constantly exposed by the lack of support in front of him. Started really well, but regressed after that flick he attempted right in front of us. |

It was cold, so bloody cold. Was on the way home after a work trip and managed to forget decent shoes - feet froze and started slipping with the frozen drips from the stand's roof. Couldn't see the game, knew we were losing, 'kin freezing, already had a 5 hour drive south with another three to go and car was parked at the end of a street that would have taken an age to get away from. I left at 72 minutes. I have never left that early in my life, didn't regret it then, don't regret it now. Freak result, let's hope we play them away early season when their confidence will be on the floor and they will be used to losing. Assuming we stay up of course... |

Stands on three sides, no strikers, no hope. Going to be a hard sludge through the poop tomorrow with a packed away end. Got tickets with the boy, but about 5 rows apart, so may have to stoop to the "we sit where we want" types. Dreading it. Feels like a routine 2-0 home win with little more than a whimper from our decimated team with an utterly offensive offence. |
 | Forum Reply | Dembele has had a free ride this season at 07:35 5 Apr 2025
Build a team around Dembele, Chair, Saito, Anderson, Madsen, Vale, Min-Hyeok, by all means, but don't try and accommodate four of them in a weak as pss slow team who are incapable of passing the ball to team mates, take throw ins, keeping possession and get constantly out worked and out fought by the opposition. Dembele needs a stable base to receive the ball in space to run at players. He needs a striker who can run off he shoulder last man. He needs physically aggressive and tall players around him who can do the dirty work. He has none of that at the moment with us. Today will be a hard, hard slog. Another game with no strikers and limited outballs. It'll be something like that first half against Oxford earlier in the season over the whole game. Just hope we scrape a 1-0... |

For once, it is about getting a striker ANY striker in the game. Not sure I can face Dembele and Smyth rotating the lone forward role in the Championship. If we still have no Frey, Kolli or Lloyd starting on Saturday, I will fear the worst even against teams as poor as Cardiff and Oxford. |

Maybe this is what you get if you sign ageing players and players with poor injury records? Being injured is nothing new for Field, Dembele, JCS, Morrison, Cook, Colback, Fox, Frey and Anderson. Chair and Celar surprises, but Lloyd and Kolli are already showing signs of being injury prone... Maybe yet again, availability might need to be the most important ability this squad needs (as well as pace (obvs). |
 | Forum Reply | Stoke City v Queens Park Rangers- match thread hi at 14:17 29 Mar 2025
Yep. Don't care about their league position; if they can't beat that team when they are home, they deserve to be going down. That purple patch has hidden just how poor our squad remains. 0-2 defeat and we'll be happy to get away with that. Really poor XI and bench for this level. |

Genuinely disinterested in this even more so that England friendlies. Is anyone apart from the "fans" of those rich clubs interested? Waste of time and money. I hope all of their players genuinely burn out and get career ending injuries as a result of their owners greed. Chelsea are in it. WTF have they done since they lost the Russian Rouble to qualify for this? City are throwing this season as I suspect that they know when all is done the Premier League will deduct enough points from them to ensure that they finish 17th and they're in it too. Dull as Shite. |
 | Forum Reply | Oxford selling fast at 13:27 27 Mar 2025
Got there in the end but I have no idea how. Availability flashed up, but would only let me get one ticket. I put that in my basket and then was told everything else had sold out. But then I looked at another single ticket for the boy and managed to secure that. Unfortunately they are around 4 rows apart so we might have to join the masses of "We sit where we want", etc, etc. At least we're in. |

Sat here like a lemon refreshing two screens with a phone on hold to the Box Office and not once did the screen flicker into any sort of life suggesting that the tickets were never put on sale. Utter farce. |
