Too busy looking at the stats. 'England have made a habit of fielding first since Stokes became captain in 2022. In nine previous home Tests in which England have won the toss in that period, they have batted first only once. From those nine matches, they have won six and probably would have had a seventh had it not been for rain in Manchester during the fourth Ashes Test of 2023. Recent history also favours fielding first at Headingley. The previous six Tests on this ground were won by the team that fielded first.' Just looking at this test though and we have a very inexperienced bowling attack and our strength is our batting - just look at the conditions on the day and not past performances (where we had Anderson and Broad). It was the obvious decision to bat today. |

Yes I remember thinking at the time, never mind we've been relegated back to league 2 after 7 seasons - at least BBM plays nice football and local lads get a game 👍 |

Quite similar to Aiden Barlow? |

RIP. Watched that film last year. A brilliant portrayal of a musical genius. Paul Dano and John Cusack both amazing playing young and old Brian - recommend it very highly to watch. Sloop John B will always be remembered by Dale fans during our first promotion under Keith Hill. |

I suppose a bit similar to Killian Barrett for us recently. He may go onto a good career but 8 games for Solihull last season and 18 games for us this season isn't what you want when you are in cup semi finals and play off games. He didn't make what you would call 'glaring errors' for any of the 5 goals he conceded in those 2 games but he could have done better. Hopefully we can address this problem as we've not had a settled, decent keeper for a while now. Yes you may get lucky once in a while with loan keepers but its not the way forward if you want a settled defense. |

Just seen highlights. He's at fault for all 3. First goal he passes the ball to the Iceland player - his fault. The 2nd goal he is rooted to his line from the corner and fumbles the ball in and the 3rd goal the header goes right through his hands. Woeful. |

Where have you got 40% from? If anything it will be nearer 10% - if we were extremely fortunate possibly 20% |

Palace had him as a kid too before they released him! Hopefully we've got a sell on percentage built into the transfer. |

Whats wrong with him singing? He's a fan isnt he who's just seen his club win a Wembley final to get promoted back into the EFL. We can only dream of a day like that. |

Yes more clubs are involved, and yes if you are mid table with 10 games to go you still have an outside chance of getting that 7th spot. I just dont think the format works with 6 teams involved and 2 teams having 2 weeks off. Certainly this season and last York and Barnet finished 2nd and lost their home games 0-3 and 0-4 to Oldham and Solihull. It works in the EFL because 2 or 3 go up automatic so its logical to go down as far as 6th and 7th for the last play off place. In the National League with just 1 going up automatic they should just have 2nd,3rd 4th and 5th in the play offs - it just works easier and its fairer as a format. |

We can only hope the more involved the Ogdens get in running the club that they get the bug and loosten the purse strings. The wealth is there - its just how much they are prepared to invest/lose. |

It would be fairer if it was 2 v 5 home and away. 3 v 4 home and away. Get rid of the eliminators for 6th and 7th as weve seen this year with a 28 point gap to 2nd place. Then all the teams play an equal number of games over a similar rest period. |

That was Mickey Mellons 6th Promotion! Play-offs with Fleetwood, Tranmere x2 and Oldham. National League Champions with Fleetwood and a promotion with Shrewsbury. Oldham knew what they were appointing. I know you've got to start somewhere so Jim's got my backing this season - if he can start learning from his past mistakes. Its a big season for him. |

Well done Oldham. Played brilliantly in the 2 play off games then rode their luck today with the winner. Although they should have scored more in 90mins with the chances they missed. We would never have scored that winning goal because we dont play balls like that into the box where anything can happen. Interestingly they'll be loving the substitute referee! He came on for the last 10 minutes and they scored 2!! |
