What I was getting at was it wasn't life threatening. There's no way that game should've been allowed to be abandoned. Obviously a precedent was set the previous game but that involved players unconscious or badly concussed and it was the 98th minute so completely different. It will just become a farce soon if it's allowed to continue - I think the league need to issue some guidelines before it gets worse.
There was 1 long ball from Whatmuff in the 2nd half that Mani brought down from the sky on his chest, cushioned it, then layed it off. Top quality target man play - something we've probably not had since O'Grady came - and that season ended with promotion.
Just noticed the Scunthorpe game was abandoned again! A Wealdstone player got injured and the ref called game off? Wtf. Dangerous precedent set now. Shoulder injury - nothing more and Wealdstone players said they were traumatised and wouldn't play on. They were losing and had made all their subs. 🤔
Carlisle won, Regan Linney again - he looks a great signing for them and he'll be fighting Mani D for the Golden Boot if they both stay fit. Hartlepool drew with a goal from Luke Charman! Borehamwood and Altrincham both won. We stay 2nd with a game in hand on those around us. Could've been a worse couple of nights.
Of course this benefits both Corey and us. As far as I'm aware we don't have an Academy team anymore so basically Corey is just training every day here without playing any games. At Stockport he can play regular U21 games for them, maybe even the odd football league trophy game. They pay his wages - not a massive saving for us but its something - and then potentially a transfer fee in January.Obviously if we got 3 or 4 injuries to any of our midfield players I'm sure he can be recalled. What's not to like?
Quite comfortable first half scoring early and late. 1 more from Mani D in the 2nd half and that should be it. The ref seems to be giving Wealdstone most of the decisions, quite a few soft fouls including 1 on the edge of our box which almost led to a freekick goal for them. Don't mind the ref giving soft fouls or playing on - as long as it's for both teams!
Is Amorin's system the same as Jim's? I know he likes playing 3 at the back with wingbacks but whenever I've seen Utd play including last night they don't seem to have much control of the game unlike Jim's team. I can understand it against top Premier League teams but even against Grimsby last night you'd have thought they would have had more control and been dictating the pace of the game. They look a shambles.
They mention Ethan Pye in that article who apparently we released from our Academy and now he's one of County's brightest prospects. Anyone remember Ethan here?
Yes hundreds of teams have changed full X1's in League cup/FA Cup games before - nothing new there. 2 league games may be a first? Although I'm sure the last game of a season may have seen it done before? Without looking into it it's difficult to say.
