For me it can only be the Cornish Maldini, often maligned but a demigod to all right thinking saints fans.

BBC story about feral teenagers in Shirley
at 21:25 25 Sep 2025

“I know these kids. Um, I've worked in the areas we're talking about, around Lambeth, Lewisham, I know their problems, I know their frustrations, lack of community facilities, I know their parents...and in my opinion, Professor Duff's suggestion that we should cut off their goolies is the only solution”.
Nod to BBC’s Not the nine o’clock news, it might have been some forty years ago, but who’s to say they they weren’t on the right track.

New Saints captain
at 15:10 25 Sep 2025

Middlesbrough on Saturday, desperate for a win, don’t mind a draw or even a spirited lose, providing the whole team play with the same passion shown by Ryan Manning against Liverpool. Rather than WS tearing into him for the ‘needless’ yellow card, I say make him Captain and let him show what is and what is not an acceptable performance.
Dare I say it’s the kind of thing Jimmy Case would have done in his heyday, although rather than just slam the ball into the grass he would have publicly kicked DD’s ar5e.

Potter won’t leave West Ham, he’ll get sacked thereby getting his severance pay. Even if Potter doesn’t come to Saints there are plenty of out of work managers who might welcome the challenge. Gerrard and Solskjær both spring to mind. Both have played and managed at the top level and most importantly will have the players respect.

Leaving aside the Liverpool game, here are the next six games taking us through to the end of October.
Borough H
Sheffield United A
Derby A
Swansea H
Bristol City A
Blackburn A
It may sound defeatist but the way we’ve been playing recently, I can’t see picking up any more than four point from these games.
At what point will SR admit their WS experiment is an utter disaster and look to appoint Potter (or another experienced Manager) to pull us out of the sh1t hole that they have created.
You say six games isn’t enough, well how about twelve embarrassing performances or maybe eighteen, how far will SR stretch your patience.

The current boss is still in place, however here’s a few stats (*) to consider when comparing Graham Potter and Will Still…
Professional games played - GP 320
Professional games played - WS 0
Total games managed - GP 490
Total games managed- WS 135
Win % of games managed - GP 42%
Win % of games managed - WD 42%
I think the most telling number here is the games played. It would be interesting to know the thoughts of the current first team and how they view a boss who has never played the game (professionally). It’s early days but are we already seeing a reaction from the senior players who simply have no respect and are not playing for the boss?

To talk about another Manager whilst we still have WS in place, but if Graham Potter was to become available would he be worth a punt?

Good shout, in the absence of Keane, Case or Souness how about Jonjo Shelvey, he’s on a free and would fit the bill.

Hypothetical question

It’s Sunday, we’re 2-1 up against Portsmouth at 75 minutes, we need a leader on the pitch who can shout and holler at his mates, scare the sh1t out of the opposition, kick some a7se, shut up shop and win the game.
Who from the current squad (or wish list) would you bring on?

I agree and if SR were looking to regain the fans affection, they could really earn a big Brucie bonus as it would be very popular with the fan base.

Bloody hell, I know a win is a win but after that performance I’m surprised anybody would travel to watch England. Dull dull dull…I wouldn’t get out of bed,

Hi everyone
at 21:40 5 Sep 2025

Welcome Tony,
For my 80th birthday my friends chipped (not crisps) in to hire a hooker.
She danced seductively, then sat on my lap.
She whispered in my ear "I'm here to give you super sex!"
I thought about it and then asked her "what kind of soup?"

Looks like Hedgeend and Pat are in the lead having supported England in Qatar, can anybody go the extra mile and beat this 4000+ mile journey?

Well 76 you would probably get the prize for the most difficult journey (if there was a prize), but I reckon I’m still leading on the furthest miles front.
