Five things about Ipswich
at 12:20 18 Aug 2025

Because Nick hasn't done this yet

1. Actually having a direct train from London for the first time in ages made a massive difference, managed to get to Ipswich in just over an hour which was nice

2. Saints still look like a work in progress but i'm also pretty happy with what i'm seeing, once we've got rid of the worst bits of the Martin hangover we'll be a decent side to watch

3. Jack Stephens had a really good game and rescued Saints a few times, i know this goes against the usual narrative but he's been performing really well this season

4. Jay Robinson is a talent but needs to be managed so he doesn't burn out. Currently he's the most creative player in the side & that's going to come with a lot of pressure

5. Someone needs to take our fans and force them to listen to Simon and Garfunkle or the Lemonhead's version of Mrs Robinson, because i've never heard a group of fans sing a song so badly out of time - almost double the speed - and to a completely different tune before.

It's like they knew the words but none of them knew the song, so just sang the words to a completely different tune instead

Rare positivity
at 15:50 14 Aug 2025

Last time we came down after the league cup game against Gillingham I said we'd end up in the play offs, i was proven right. That was based on the fact that we didn't seem to know how to win dirty and looked like a side with no cutting edge or idea how to force a result.

This time round at the same stage i think we'll be top two and possibly win the league. That's based on the fact that we're playing badly but finding a way to win. Still seems to be pragmatic and understands the result is more important than the style. I'm also sure we'll come good soon and start looking far more dangerous.

Ipswich is our first big test and they seem out of form at the moment, i think we have a great chance of getting something there and i'm a lot more confident than I was the last time we played them in the Championship.

Which is all weirdly positive for me so obviously we'll lose 3-0 now

An ugly exclusive apparently we’ve got three loan signings coming in. Keeper, full back and one other, and one of them the club are particularly excited about

Predict the new myth
at 11:07 31 Jul 2025

As well all know wiih games against Portsmyth we always see them create new made up stories to push to the press.

In the past we've had

"they stole our food"
"pompey has it's own dialect"
"the scummers never show"
"the dock strike"
"David Norris stopped the scum winning the league"
"We sent the scummers down"

So what do we reckon they'll invent this time round?

I'm going with "the scummers asked for the bubble because they're too scared to come Fratton"

Ipswich away tickets
at 11:10 22 Jul 2025

Less than three weeks before the game and the club still haven't released the ticket details, even by the shoddy standard of our ticket office that is poor.

It does also make the cynic in me wonder if it means the club are going to try and make away tickets digital too? Because their track record of posting tickets out is bloody awful

Saints in a title fight saturday
at 23:58 23 Apr 2025

Well maybe that's a slight lie, it's only one Saint, a Saints fan who a few of you might know and more of you might know his old man Mike.

My mate Derrick is fighting for the ISKA Pro British Title on Saturday, fair few of us heading up after the match straight there to watch it but it's good to see a proper mush doing well in his sport and representing Southampton a lot better than the club are doing right now

Clap for SFC_Referee
at 10:35 9 Sep 2024

Hey all, as you know Elijah passed earlier this year from an epileptic fit in the night and Saturday's game against United will be the first one his family are at.

Both his mum and dad will be there that day and it would mean the world to them if we could clap for him on the 20th minute (his age when died) as a mark of respect.

Also would it be possible too for people to share this on whichever social media you're on too please so we can get more people involved too.

Some reports surfacing on social media that he's had a stroke, hopefully it's not anything too serious and he makes a quick recovery.

Aside from Stokes goal i'd say his against the Skates in '84 has to be the most iconic saints goal ever scored.

Leeds away tickets
at 09:40 8 Apr 2024

What a totally pisstake that pricing is, effectively £50 (including the ticket tax) for adults, how the f*ck can they justify that cost during a cost of living crisis!?

A complete and utter joke from them and shows why the football league needs away price caps

League table for the last 50 years
at 09:23 15 Feb 2024

Interesting, Sky have put together a league table from the last 50 years of the game and have us at 11th in the list.

Weirdly given they're such a MASSSSIVE club and clearly the biggest, hugeest, most pashooonist club in the world the skates are 37th.

This surely can't be right given that would make them perennial lower league fodder and not the glaticos of the south coast that we are so often told they are?

Train strikes for newcastle away
at 13:13 17 Jan 2023

Not sure if others spotted this but it looks like there’s train strikes on the first, so fair to assume most who’ve bought tickets might now be stuck.

We managed to change ours to Flybe flights back down for £40 which was decent.

We could potentially be out of both clubs and more or less know our likelihood of going down,

Brighton (h)
Fulham (a)
Forest (h)
Palace (FA Cup)
Man City (league cup)
Everton (a)
Villa (h)
Wolves (a)

Would personally assume we'll lose both cup games, and anything less than 12 points in those league games and we're going to be in serious trouble.

Guess on the plus side at least it should be an exciting period...

Like many on here I guess the specials were one of those bands that was incredibly important to me growing up so I was gutted to hear the news terry hall had passed.

Honestly one of the celebrity deaths that’s got me more than most.

Enjoy yourself mush, it’s later than you think
