Our recruitment team are seriously f*cking inept aren't they? I mean i know we're hardly the biggest draw in the world but i reckon even Stevie Wonder chucking darts at a panini sticker album could hit a few more successful targets than them

5 Things About The Pompey Game
at 14:56 15 Sep 2025

1. Portsmouth are now just another run of the mill lower league team, their support went through the lower league song book and lacked anything that would mark them out as different, their team are well drilled but lack skill, and they'll be relegated again long before troubling the top flight.

2. The Northam Wall is the biggest mistake the club has done in recent years, and for games like this it's a massive own goal as it just encourages away fans to mock our atmosphere.

3. It was weird to see empty seats despite the game being a sell out, can only assume they were unused season tickets or comp tickets, but it was a shame to see.

4. This Saints side WILL come good, in brief flashes we looked a good side but we need to play our own game and not let the opposition dictate the game.

5. The whole police operation was completely overkill, ok you've got a bubble that's all good, but then if you have that why did you need multiple helicopters, police going round every pub in town and police horses around the stadium, surely the point of the bubble is to stop the need for that

Yeah those were all us, as was "we're going to chase them through goldsmith avenue, and then we're taking fratton" to the tune of electric avenue.

Hopefully that chapel block will develop like the Itchen North did when it was good and we'll have a few more unique songs that aren't ripped off other clubs. It's always easier to do that with smaller numbers and generally older heads

My way of looking at that little block of the chapel is it's not our job to sing loads of songs at a million miles an hour, that's the northam, it's to provide more old school vocal backing and give a bit back to the away fans.

Genuinely really enjoy it there personally, and given the disaster of the Northam Wall last season it's great to actually be enjoying going again, i just hope the club don't decide to get heavy handed and let it develop into it's own thing, because it's good for the ground to have an option for those that don't like the noddy banter & million miles an hour rubbish in the Northam

Was the standard one in the Milton in the 80s and used a fair bit in the Itchen North when it was good.

If you get a few joining in it can sound incredible but most don't actually know it so speed it up too quickly

Just an observation really, you can see the Northam clapping but you literally can't hear them from the other side of the ground, other than OWTS, and that's because more than just the Northam join in.

It was the worst skate away end i think i've ever seen, so many replica shirts and very few lads, also the collective age looked about 13.

Almost no needle from them and they seemed properly meek and wilted really quickly. Also what they did sing was pretty much the league two song book.

Though the bit of the chapel next to them was decent, not exactly loads of songs but did it''s job and was a good mixture of older and younger lads.

I'm not normally a fan of them but thought the Beattie flag was actually pretty decent, but for the most part you simply don't hear the northam from the other end of the ground so there's nothing for the away fans to bounce off and i assume the same the otherway round

Gonna pause on Canute Road so they can see the site of the riots caused by the pompey blacklegs being brought in to break the 1890 dock strike (the one that actually has documented history)

I heard they'd have a special live performance of jackanory where the presenters talk about all of the classic and in no way completely made up stories like the way the naval/military dock town of portsmouth that wasn't allowed to unionise had their dock strike broken, or how the SCUMMMAHHHHS never show up but also slashed a nippers face in fratton.

It will be followed by a performance by their sex pest clown and food care packages being handed out as all their food will have been stolen by the scummers on the way in.

Thought it was going to be via the M271? Given the last pick up is Winchester surely down the M3 and in via the M271 is the most obvious, plus they can control traffic and lights on town quay/platform road and bring them in the back easily.

If they come from the itchen bridge it means shutting off a lot more of the city and is less direct meaning more chance of issues.
