Actions speak louder than words. Early days, but so far our new owners have been absolutely brilliant. They were set a very low bar by their predecessors, but they are easily exceeding expectations.
They don’t have to turn up and buy supporters pints if they are bringing in players like Widdell and Inoussa and skyrocketing our profile.
They probably won’t have to throw their own funds at their club if they run it well. |

Yes you’re right. Unfortunately, the Union Jack has been hijacked by a certain demographic to represent something it shouldn’t.
We ‘should’ all be proud of it and 99% of the time I am, just not at football. I’d imagine the Irish flag has very similar connotations, we just don’t see that at Swansea. |

When you’ve got a guy in a Rangers shirt, with a Union Jack emblazoned’ Loyalist Swansea - London is our capital’, I think most on here are capable of reading between the lines.
I’m not sure some who have taken the ‘chill, it’s just a flag’ approach would feel quite the same if it was Resolven or Trampie with a flag that strongly alluded to their Welsh nationalist bile.
Maybe some would, I’m not a fan of any of it. |

You’re missing the point entirely.
Unless your aunties brother is a global superstar, who is going to expose us to a whole new audience, which will then be monetised to help us get around PSR and sign players Cardiff couldn’t dream of , like Widdell and Inoussa.

This is 100% right. I am a bit concerned this could go too far and we could turn into a pantomime, but reality is we won’t compete on small crowds and local sponsorship.
Wrexham have done it well. It’s very likely other clubs will do it too. At least we’re getting in there before most of our competitors.
Giving away a bit of equity in the club in exchange for skyrocketing its commercial revenue seems such common sense it’s a wonder it’s not already common practice. |

And unfortunately, there’s a huge correlation between people who fly the Union flag at football and people who support Rangers.
Like yourself, I’m not saying the Welsh or Irish nationalists are any better. I don’t have time for any of them. |

We’ve missed this type of player for ages. A Leroy Fer or a Darren Pratley. Ntcham came close I guess.
Makes the attacking players job so much easier if someone is running directly at defenders and causing panic. |

Agree with this and the original post. The ‘London is our capital’ flag is embarrassing. A Cofiwch Dryweryn one would be just as bad, but thankfully you don’t see much of that at football.
Not sure why people can’t leave their politics and their prejudices at home and just enjoy the football.
Or get a ‘…way down by the sea’ type one that doesn’t make you look like a bellend. |

If we’re going to do it, the 1981/82 kit is a masterpiece.
Appreciate it wouldn’t work with a sponsor, but I never buy replica shirts, I’d be first in the queue for that. Wonder how many more shirts we’d sell with a nice kit and no sponsor.
Obviously the figures don’t work or clubs would be doing that. |

The Welsh ladies did incredibly well to get there, they were always going to get a tuning against top sides.

Genuinely think I’ve got more in common with English people than Resolven and some of the other rabid Welsh nationalists on here.
I’ll want them to lose every single time they step on a football or rugby pitch, but that’s as far as it goes. I’d rather have a pint with the average Englishman than a parochial idiot any day. |
