Brings back memories. Last time I went to QPR Alan Ball was manager and got sent off. Around 1994 I believe. |
 | Forum Reply | Top 3 Hidden Gem Cities at 08:43 9 Oct 2025
Blimey...been to hundreds of cities over the last 30 years. So many I really like but for me one of the best so far was Saigon (HCMCity) although I have not been there for over 20 years now, though I am told by people who have been recently that it is still superb. Some great architecture there. Nicosia also has something about it, not least some amazing food. There is nothing quite like a Meze. Great atmosphere also as you can always seem to find a wedding party that is open to all with the plate smashing etc. I am also a big fan of Kuala Lumpur, again as it has some districts within the city with some very different architecture. Lovely parks by the Petronas towers also and some great India food. Honorable mentions to Manama in Bahrain, some great nightlife there. Stockholm, although I hear now it has gone downhill fast in recent years. Hong Kong for sure, though perhaps a bit mainstream for a hidden gem. |

So, what will Solak say about this? He said he was hoping RM would succeed so it would prove he was right to hire him. Perhaps this will be the final straw to make him realise he is not fit to run a football club. |

Before we consider this, who would we all suggest as a viable replacement? |
 | Forum Reply | James Ward-Prowes at 08:42 4 Oct 2025
Hmm. A no from me as he is far to slow, sideways and not particularly creative and I think we have enough of those sorts right now. That said, he might be OK if WS would play him further forward as we had a glimpse once before of him being better when played further forward, and dropping down a league he may well be useful. So a no from me with a slight yes, maybe, perhaps. |
 | Forum Reply | Have Saints Turned A Corner Now at 08:38 4 Oct 2025
I saw signs that we had turned some sort of corner at home to Boro, but then got sent back to the start of the curve away at Sheff. Utd. For me, we are coming into the corner and sort of just starting to turn... but not anywhere near as much as we need to be. Crucial for us to really get into that corner some more today with a clean sheet and 3 points. |

Did not get to watch the game last night. But want to ask, being that many comments on here and other forums are suggesting we were slow again, bad in the first half again, are we actually making any real progress? I mean, it almost sounds like a step backwards, performance wise from Saturday's game, no? [Post edited 1 Oct 8:29]

Will it be updated today sometime before the game tonight? I am childishly excited as I got maximum points on Saturday. |

Probably a far fetched theory, but the biggest audience for Sky and Co is the middle east and far east. These locales are also well known for their corrupt ways high up. I wonder if it is any coincidence that the clubs getting away with it are owned by wealthy powerful people from those places? |
 | Forum Reply | Mystery Championship club in turmoil at 08:19 29 Sep 2025
I find it hard to believe this is us. People say that Jack Stephens is a good chap and well liked, not the sort to do this. That said, do any of us know his true character? Looking at the history, so many managers have picked Stephens to our despair. Perhaps he has a hold of some sort on the club and dressing room, so When Will dropped him, he went off on one. Is that really possible? If so, surely he has to be moved on. We cannot have that kind of influence in the dressing room. Personally I think it is Norwich. I have heard the players absolutely hate the manager there, Manning I think his name is, without bothering to look it up. I would add to this that the players on Saturday did not look like a bunch in turmoil. In fact it was our best performance of the season for me. [Post edited 29 Sep 8:23]

 | Forum Reply | Far better at 07:11 28 Sep 2025
Agree, definitely improved, especially at the back, though they did get in behind us a few times. Unlucky with the goal I thought. Also found Still's subs a bit weird again. Fellows was having a good game. I can only assume perhaps he is not 100% match fit. A mention for Ross Stewart also who i noticed dropped deep a lot to battle and win balls, hold up play, keep possession and make some good passes. Unlikely we are going to finish top six this season, but I feel much more confident now that this team is capable of putting a decent run together that may see them break into the play off mix up. Despite a slow start, we are still not that far off a play off place. Tuesday is a big one. I think I would take a draw there for stability. |

With this in mind, we should see some wholesale changes from the team that lost at Hull then. If he is fed up with the same silly mistakes, he needs to have the guts to drop certain names and stay with a lot of them who played so much better at Liverpool. For me, this will tell us if he can be a success. If he reverts to the same set up and team as Hull, then he is a dead man walking I would say, especially as he has said many times that he will pick players based on performance not on names etc. |
 | Forum Reply | Wood and Jelert have to start on Saturday at 08:22 25 Sep 2025
The most worrying thing for me is that we see a performance like that and we see Wood, Jelert etc, playing much better than the people in our usual starting XI...so why have we played that starting XI so often? I feel it is unlikely these players just all of a sudden became good overnight. So, is Still playing mates, or is it possible he is under orders to play certain people? Either way it does not bode well. |
 | Forum Reply | Southampton At Hull City The Verdict at 08:50 22 Sep 2025
But as Nick says in his report... "one hit the nail on the head when talking about Finn Azaz to his mate, he said last year for Middlesbrough he tore Hull apart, that he was the best player he saw in the Championship by a country mile, but he was a shadow of his former self." So what indeed has happened to that version of Azaz? Why is he all of a sudden crap? it is us. We are destroying players somehow. |
