The Championship season is a long, hard slog and form is usually temporary. But, what if we maintained our form so far until May? We have picked up 12 points from 8 games. If we keep that up, we finish on 69 points. 69 points last season would have put us in the play-offs. But, what if we did better than that and maintained our recent 'inconsistent' form (the last five matches have delivered 11 points - an average of 2.2 per game). We would add 38 x 2.2 = 83.6 to the 12 already in the bank, which would give us 95 points. I think 95 points would give us something rather different to worry about. Just musing... |

That 2-1 win at Portsmouth was on Sky. This would never be allowed to happen today, but, the badly-injured Kevin Gallen was interviewed by Sky at the end of the match. I think he may have done the interview leaning on the shoulder of a colleague. If he had received the care then that he would get in 2025, I wonder if we would have seen him playing again much sooner? |

'PFV' is what I said when they knocked us out of the League Cup at LR many seasons ago. |

I don't remember applauding a particular opposition goal, although I approve of doing that. I do remember, however, at LR, staying behind at the end to applaud Colchester United after they had thoroughly beaten us in the League Cup (1-4), thanks to a brilliant performance from Lua Lua. |

Keiran Morgan against Watford Koki Saito against Charlton Richard Kone against Wrexham OK, 'they all count' but these were rather good! [Post edited 14 Sep 7:44]

Is he still in South Africa Road? ( Sorry - I downticked when I didn't mean to) |

The comments of those Twitter warriors are despicable. But, we know that and we have nothing but contempt for them. As far as the law is concerned, we probably have enough of it already. Hard though it may be at times, it is probably best to leave the Twitter twerps free to make their utterances. Incitement to kill or destroy - come down on them hard. But, inconsiderate or hurtful comments? We just build our resistance. |

Has anyone with a hopeful look on their face been sitting in a car in South Africa Road for a long time? |

Enjoyed that win, of course. But, did anyone else share my concern at the number of free-kicks that we seemed to be giving away in dangerous positions around our box? A better team than Charlton would have made more of those. |

For some reason, Jimmy Dunne was having a go at him at the end. We should be patient. |

One man CAN make a difference. Not in the sense that he does it all himself, but, in the way that he helps others play. We have four days to get him fit |

Most of us would have predicted a defeat at Coventry, but this is more than an ordinary defeat. I wonder if there is something 'non football' that is a problem in the squad? I have no evidence of that but two things made me wonder. The most recent was the long interview with Steve Cook - mostly predictable but without much enthusiasm and I could not recall a smile. The other odd thing was the lack of excitement from his colleagues when Kieran Morgan scored that brilliant goal at Watford. Something does not feel right. |
