Now that's just fantastic. Paul Smyth at Ashton Gate - it's psychology, I tell yer. And our Head Coach emerges as Le Roi of the three-game week, non?

A tough game but the best result of the season so far I'd say, by a country mile. So now the Sheff Wed and Oxford draws are taken care of (5pts from the week is great work, Rangers - just not in the expected order!). And we have sealed that all-important 4th win inside the first 10 games which gives us a real solid foundation this season after a turbulent spring and summer off-the-field.

This is really good for Stephan, for our CEO, for everyone connected with Rangers. It could just be the start of something. I really don't know what, but something....

I see a comprehensive defeat here sadly to a established decent Championship side.

4-1 to Brizzle. The price of not beating Oxford - the game that really mattered this week.

All good arguments on here IMHO but still the morning-after meh feeling of two points dropped if we want to progress. Repeat the same result Saturday, however, and it's definitely a prize point gained. Funny thing, psychology.

Excellent report again, Clive, covering all aspects of a very decent point. As you and others have said, it's all about Oxford now in terms of putting this draw into context. Of this 3-Game Week , Wed night was always going to be The Big One. Thank you.

Definitely bring back Paul Smyth for Ashton Gate of all places, says I.

Psychology matters. Mythical status.

So 'Brian Clough' it is. Like it.

It's the kind of game where you almost wonder if it will start/finish. Hope we can rise above the emotion. Focus.

Yes - really good punditry from Lee Cook - another real Rangers Man. And he knows all about scoring the winner in a 1-0 home win against Stoke..

...over 20 years, jeez....

Superb - well done Rangers. Imho this is the most impressive of the 3 wins against a solid Championship outfit.

I said after the summer shenanigans (Nourry/Marti/Plymouth/Williams/you name it) that we needed to win at least 4 of our first 10 league games to draw a line under it all and really move on. Don't want to tempt fate (....) but very nearly there.

Tres bien, Monsieur Head Coach. Wagons roll.

Definitely. Then the pain of 1965 and (especially) 1986 can finally be erased for Hearts fans. Would be wonderful. Apologies to QPR_Hibs.

In Advanced Talks With Edwards

Have to say that the cynic in me hints that the whole episode maybe was orchestrated by our CEO and his PR operation all along. In other words, get fans on board on back of heartening win by apparently showing intent on Edwards but also apparently demonstrating an example of financial discipline absent in recent times.

This might be a tad harsh - but it occurred to me.
