Great post, Terry - makes total sense on all points! I've been following this thread religiously over the last few weeks but never had the time/energy to come up with anything worth adding - feel like everything's been covered several times over, by lots of regular posters whose thoughts I really value, expressing things far better than I could. For context, I am: a long-standing and regular match-going fan, member for two decades but never had a season ticket, for a range of personal reasons; embarrassed by the way the managerial situation has been handled; sick of the selective communication, which seems to make really fertile ground for rumours, counter-rumours, ;apprehensive about how any new manager will do when, Paal apart, we don't have much/any confirmation of official ins and outs of senior players so close to pre-season; really concerned that Nourry is not improving in terms of communications, and seemingly content for the older/"legacy" fans to feel increasingly alienated from the club; looking forward to going to my next game, when the fixtures are announced, because I always do! Favourite cheese (as I don't think I've ever shared this on my few posts before): manchego |

There were certainly plenty of matches in the first half of the season where it looked like he didn't want to be here! |

Cheers DMM, that wad what I'd thought, I remember the accommodation block coming up as a requirement now you mention it |

Really enjoyed last night and good point from the OP - yes, did also really feel for Bennie. Not so much a thought as a question - the bloke I was next to last night seemed to know a fair bit more of than me and suggested that if we won, we'd become a Cat 1 academy. Does anyone know if that is true? I'd always thought it was something which depended on whether the club wanted to invest in making it happen or not, rather than something you 'qualified' for.... |

Have driven a few times over the last few years and all good. Haven't driven in Paris, but generally find French driving better than here in the UK - tend not to have any muppets sitting in the middle lane of motorways (people actually drive in the correct lane depending what speed they're going at!) and compared to driving in London, drivers seemed more patient - have never had someone beep their horn at me, where I get that every now and then here in London for things like not breaking the speed limit. Lol. Got the Crit Air sticker before last year's trip - easy enough to get it delivered to a UK address, ours came very quickly (within a week IIRC, although you're advised to apply for one further in advance). As noted above, you notice the difference when you come back to the UK and the 50mph speed limit on the M20, punctuated by that lovely bumpy road surface. |

Also thought he was good and was delighted to see his assist. I am a massive Chair fan and am really looking forward to him hopefully starting games soon and bringing his qualities to the table. But did anyone else notice that before the game, he seemed to spend quite a while in the warmup on his own, doing kickups in the middle of our half but not really part of any group... and then after the game, he did applaud the Lower Loft/SAR but apart from a quick exchange with Kolli, made his way to the tunnel? Had hoped he'd enjoy milking it with the rest of the group a bit more, having provided the assist! I wondered if he'd been hoping he'd start, or maybe he's feeling under the weather and just wanted to get home. Hope it was nothing and there's nothing to be worried about, but seemed a bit odd to me. |

Excellent as ever, and hoping for a less Preston like performance tomorrow, fingers crossed for some actual entertainment |

Ruddy 'ell, that's shocking about Madsen (but not entirely surprising). I couldn't see Celar's reaction when he came off, but am surprised he "kicked the dugout to pieces" - really?! I always think, as others have said, that he looks like he'd rather be anywhere else than on the pitch, and would have been happy to escape from another bad performance. Then again, I guess maybe professional pride and the realisation that he really is not good enough for this level may have finally hit him today [Post edited 23 Nov 2024 23:06]

Many thanks Clive - as noted above, you somehow get the right tone at the right time (everytime). Have found myself nodding along to so many posters since Tuesday's mess. This is nearly all on Nourry (and the board for appointing him ). Rather than analysing the mess, most of my headspace is worrying about the club's next decision. Lots of posters seem to agree that Nourry should go but being honest, does anyone think the club will actually do that? Instinct seems to be that Marti will get the boot first, then Belk, and eventually Nourry- but it will be too late and who know what the mess will look like by then. Oh, and massive credit to all Rrrrrs fans making the trip today, goes without sayibg but the club doesn't deserve you. |

That's how I saw the game, and players' performance, too. Madsen and Ashby in particular were doing my head in all game. I'm usually in the happy clapper camp and always try to be patient - with managers, results and new players. But now we're bottom of the table, continuing to be patient with this is really testing me. We're not beating anyone playing like that - "circling the drain" was in the OP of another thread, and that's exactly what was going through my head towards the end of that game. I know there were injuries, and we don't know exactly who has final say on signings, but the fact remains that we had nearly 2 weeks to get ready for that game - and we weren't ready. How is going to pick that lot up, and get them organized, to beat Coventry? Said to my little girl at the end of the game - exactly as I did after we lost to Blackburn at home to 4-0 with Ainsworth - that I'm not taking her again until I've seen a performance. It's rubbish to watch at the moment and we're not showing enough desire either, so hard to get enthusiastic about anything I see, except possibly for the odd Nardi save, the odd moment from Demebe, and Frey's workrate |

Yep, exactly the same for me. Another Saturday kickoff I can't make tomorrow. The most I get out of sky is the 2 min highlights when I can't go and am too impatient to wait for the club to upload. |
