That whole episode with Morris took 1 minute 40 seconds . I counted it as I couldn’t believe how long it was taking them to do everything yet only 5 minutes had been added . There were other delays in injury time too but of course he only added 45 seconds .
Don’t get me wrong, we were awful yesterday and could still be playing now and wouldn’t have scored. We didn’t lose because of the ref .
But he was incredibly weak yesterday . The shoulder charge on Nardi with no card when Burrell was left one on one if Nardi had released it, left me fuming .

But our players continually fell into their trap . Don’t give the ref a decision to make .
I said I felt uncomfortable with what Cook did on Wednesday , but then called myself hypocritical as I often call us too naive , and yesterday was a case in point .
Read the room. He was giving everything Derbys way (it seemed , probably not completely accurate but he did let them get away with anything they wanted in that second half especially ) so don’t go charging in . So many times we look so inexperienced.

They have to learn quick because they were given a bit of a lesson yesterday in more ways than one .

Dear lord we stunk that place out again …for the second year in a row .

Out battled and I have to say out thought .
Derby don’t usually play with a back 5 but Eustace did a proper job which found Stéphan wanting a little today . Spent much of the 1st half trying to get out of our own half and much of the second passing in front of them with no penetration at all.
They can’t believe their luck .

Needed a bit more nous and invention but weirdly took off players who could get round Chair and help him. Madsen and Saito perhaps? Players who can create .
Picking on Frey seems to be ‘en vogue’ , but he looks utterly clueless in this slightly deeper role . Like he’s never played the game .
Having said that Kone wasn’t really any better .
Not sure what the point of having him in that role if we keep pumping balls forward for Burrell to challenge for ? That’s what Kone is there for isn’t it ?
Constantly caught in no man’s land.
They need to tweak that .

Nardi has to come for that ….again ..and thats the difference in us picking up a point or not.
Not just Nardi, everyone is ball watching but he has to come and claim up and unders that land inside the middle of the six yard box.
Really poor.
Dunne bullied which hasnt happened to often , Saito no joy , Vale a split second too slow to really do anything .
Weak . Weak performance and weak officiating too.
Thought he let them get away with anything they wanted in that second half .
Yeah disappointing. Nothing to go overboard about .
Put it down to a bad day at the office but I think we’ve now been found out a little .
We got away with it Wednesday, but only just .

Probably need to tweak things rather than wholesale changes .

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Frey and Burrell today .
Just think Kone looked tired on Wednesday.
Not advocating it but just think we might see it soon.
Not seen Frey and Burrell together yet . Frey certainly has more experience and nous over Kone so you never know .

Won’t be often either just might appear during 3 game weeks

QPR's road warriors sink ten-man Swans - Report

Didn’t sit that well with me either.
Cringey watching the replays back .

However I’ve said many times before on here and in person how naive we are and way too nice at times . If it was the other way , the lad would have hit the deck too so I can’t have it both ways .
I think Cook in a split second regretted not going down for the hands in his face / throat , and when the moron gave him a second opportunity he didn’t waste the chance .
All a bit pathetic but that’s the state of modern football .

Great report Clive

I noticed Tylon Smith was in the travelling squad yesterday .

Might be looking to cover Jimmy with one of the other centre backs (Mbengue perhaps ) at some point .
By some accounts Jimmy has been carrying an injury of sorts for 10 or 11 months .

Ha ha ! That made me chuckle as that was also the point where I left the sofa and marched up and down my living room shouting obscenities much to the bemusement of my wife . It’s was the umpteenth time he did that .
The frustration lies with the fact that it really didn’t need to be so difficult yet we all knew it would be . It’s not just these players , it’s been teams and squads going back years that have had the same problems and as Nix so eloquently put it earlier in this thread , maybe it’s because our players don’t often deal with that much success that it’s a bit of inexperience almost in dealing with a match actually stacked in our favour .
Ultimately, only one team would have gained any confidence from that second half or especially the last 10-15mins and it wasn’t us . All it possibly gave our players were doubts going forward and that didn’t need to happen .

Anyway, that was the frustration of last night that underpinned the joy of victory.
This morning it’s a big 3 points and that’s all that really matters .
Looking at the table and seeing how close it all is should really be the thing that gives the players that confidence to go to Derby and win . We can do that I have no doubt.

Oh the main commentator was a local (work wise) guy for sure .
He knew so much guff about Swansea players and the commentary was very biased indeed. I presumed Sky was using Swansea’s ifollow

Ok, now I’ve calmed down ….great and welcome 3 points.
The league table looks bloomin great at the moment .
Long may that continue .

I thought we did ok first half . Let them have a lot of the ball but they did nothing with it and we looked very comfortable. Nice and compact yet looked dangerous when we went forward .

Messaged my dad and son at half time saying I’m more nervous now they’ve had someone sent off than if they still had 11 men.
What is that?
That mentality has to change because we all knew it was coming ..and it did.
Second half we were passive , too deep, stopped pressing , not tracking runners ….until Ilias came on. And then all of a sudden we could keep the bloody ball.

Why do we find it so hard against 10 men? Or to put it another why can’t we deal very well with the expectation of winning the match ? Not just this team.
But years and decades before it !

Anyhow we should have put the game to bed long before the end .
Cook, Chair , Dunne and oh my goodness me Varane 😩. These chances we should be scoring .
The last 10 minutes I spent yelling at my tv as we lost all ability to do any of the basics right . Got deeper and deeper. Sat off of 10 men and really were lucky to survive at the end .
That’s why people are a little frustrated . Happy we won of course , but we shouldn’t have to go through the wringer against a very very poor 10 men.
Keep the bloody football !!!

1 good 1 bad .
I thought Kone was poor tonight .
Would like to see a percentage stat of how many times he received the ball then lost it in that second half . Not surprised to see him hooked.
Maybe tiredness as he and Burrell do put in a hell of a shift .

I thought Madsen was outstanding this evening .
The amount of times he won the ball back as well as the only one vaguely able to keep the ball until Chair came on .
So impressive in his defensive positioning and reading the game .
Becoming more and more important by the week .

Really is about time he has a song .

It sounds a bit negative but I’m buzzing on the 3 points . A win is a win.
Just frustrated at having to tear my hair out watching us play 10 men when all we need to do is do the bloody basics . 🤣

Win Saturday and we are right in amongst it .

Come on !!!!!!!!

Thinking the same about Esquerdinha.
Must be injured?
I thought he was ok against Bristol City.

What should QPR do with Sam Field moving forward?
at 18:55 22 Oct 2025

Completely agree.

I posted on here about 18 months ago that would Marti have to make a Decision on Sam Field if we wanted to step up to the next level of clubs in the championship .
I think it’s a fair question still . There was a debate then as now , but as far as I can remember it remained respectful.

But the wording and the disrespect shown to a great servant and ‘player of the year’ in recent times is the problem for me . Be critical but also come on!
“Finished at QPR and rightly so” isn’t really an observation , it’s just a bit nasty really .

Bloody fireworks...
at 22:17 21 Oct 2025

Been nearly a week now .
6 days of non stop fireworks , from about 7pm until about 1am.
Don’t care what religious celebration it is , it shouldn’t be disturbing everyone else for a week or more .
I realise that’s a fairly un pc thing to say .
But as an atheist and a grumpy old sod , I’d be saying it if it was done a Christmas too .

It’s simply not fair

Don’t often disagree with you Simmo , hardly ever actually but have a different opinion on this one .

‘Footballing IQ’ isn’t just about creating chances or attacking , it can be reading the game , seeing danger , getting your body shape right , commiting yourself to win the ball at the right moment etc.

For my memory he is already an improvement on Bidwell , Larkeche, Paal and Esquerdinha and probably loads more of recent times although I quite like Lee Wallace .
Had a couple of moments Saturday but in general he’s been very good .

By the same measure , your potentially saying Alan McDonald had no football IQ , no?
Big Mc wasn’t great with the football but he read the game incredibly . It takes all sorts to make a team .

Totally this Bazza

Pretty lucky where my season ticket is that I don’t get too much ‘traffic’ but I sat up in MU a couple times last season and the same 3 or 4 youngsters (guessing 18-22) come in late , disrupt everyone around the 25 minute mark , disrupt everyone again coming back a few minutes later , then again on 44 mins , then again on 48 mins coming back , then again on 65 mins …..f*ck me!!!

Both games exactly the same .
My old dad sitting in F block has gone through 2 years of bladder cancer treatment and he waits until half time or even full time .
Either got the smallest bladder known to man or of course it’s all about ‘the gear’.

Either way it’s a bit pathetic , and that’s coming from someone who’s been in and around D&D in quite a heavy way for 30 years .

Just watch the bloody game of go somewhere else !

Music lovers/ record collectors

You make some great points .

What I would say that these days artists don’t really see fans streaming their music as robbing them.
I know there were issues years ago but I think artists just see it as the norm . It’s a way of your music spreading to people who wouldn’t otherwise get to hear it , then in turn perhaps they come and see you live or buy merchandise in addition.
At least that’s how we saw it .
The days of making money on releasing a record just don’t exist now .
Releasing an album helps to promote a tour which is where the bands make money now . Completely the opposite to how it used to be .

My vinyl collection is something I genuinely get pleasure out of . Alphabetical order otherwise I wouldn’t ever find anything . There is something so pleasing about a gatefold sleeve or fold out inlay etc .

Chair Poku JCS were all available for selection today said the Club !!
at 17:37 20 Oct 2025

Sorry is that true that JCS went off injured again ?

Also, the ‘all 3 players are available for selection’ press release is really the crux of the issue here .
Brian made that point brilliantly earlier in the thread.

Quite clearly the comms between the head coach , the medical team and the media team are not as they should be .
No one expected any of them to start or even all 3 of them to be on the bench but as Clive mentioned, the fact that none were even on the bench was peculiar.
The ‘club’ said Poku would be back for Wrexham . He wasn’t .

Fans are allowed to ask about it .

But yet people still jump to the defence of the club when even the most basic of questions are asked about them.

Great report Clive and pretty much as I saw it too.

Apart from actually witnessing the first goal live I’ve just watched it back a couple of times now.
The more I look at it the more I don’t blame Nardi .

If that guy is through on his own then yes I would expect him to come and engage but with 2 defenders there , he should never be charging out of his box .
Watching it back , I can’t believe the nonchalance of RND and Cook. Barely jogging . It looks like they are expecting Nardi to come but realistically it’s their job to deal with that . Cook especially looks almost peculiar in his attempt at barely more than walking football in that instance and RND isn’t much better . Even Morrison isn’t really busting a gut…and if he had he would have stopped the follow up .
Marking RND was difficult . Overall he was exceptional in that first half in particular . Several upgrades on Paal, but was in part at fault for both their goals .
He was my man of the match but he was found wanting in both instances .

Overall , I’ve read a lot about how good we were in games like Bristol City away , when actually for an hour I thought we were very ordinary and lucky not to be at least 2 goals down . Even at the end City missed an absolute sitter to equalise.
Stoke missed a number of chances including the easiest header of the season and there has been others in that run of games where we could easily have dropped more points .
I actually thought we played well in that first half and 2-0 was incredibly harsh …but that’s the championship in a nutshell .
Win some lose some and no drama going forward .
We will lose games .

Important now we don’t do what we usually do and go on a bad run.
Swansea will almost certainly have more possession and that will suit us .

No more Frey / Kone nonsense as Clive said .
Play the best team and do what we do best and that is counter back to front quickly .
We did that less Saturday and it showed .
