It was actually ÂŁ8 for a Guinness last season in the B&W to add a bit of balance

Possibly put Chair back on the left ?
Don’t want that myself but it’s a possibility despite the head coach saying he prefers him at 10

Madsen might start Saturday but it won’t be in a 2 with Field .

The decision , and it might be SB’s choice or decision of course, to not have him on the bench on match days , with his experience , seems very peculiar.

Like Lewis Hamilton signing for Ferrari and deciding he only wants to be in the pit crew .
So much match day experience to tap into yet he is sat in the stands.
I’m sure he will have some sort of communication but that’s just waste of him being there and seeing things as they happen and reacting and giving orders .

Typical Rangers really .

Familiar learnings and fresh frustrations as QPR lose at Watford – Report

Bugger. Downvoted in error .

Apologies .

I thought it was a great interview and little bit of good PR by the club to do that interview with Madsen in pre season.
He came across as a genuine and good guy who clearly struggled with nerves or pressure and confidence.
Made me warm to him immediately and as I say , I really want him to do well .

I don’t think he is lazy , it’s just not his game to tear around smashing in to people .
But there is no excuse for hiding . And unfortunately we saw it again on Saturday where he can easily step away from an opponent to be available and it’s like he’s tethered , he doesn’t have the confidence.

After the game v Preston I walked to my car an hour or so after the game had finished.
I was walking close behind Madsen , Adamson and a member of staff going to a car .
Adamson was buzzing that he’d made his debut .
Madsen was shuffling , shaking his head , complaining (couldn’t quite make out what he was saying ) and his body language was like someone had died.
I think he was going over Preston’s goal . Can’t be 100% sure.
But I felt like grabbing him and shaking him and saying “come on man! It’s ok . Put it behind you and let’s go again next week “

But I fear he can’t .
On a human level that’s really sad for him.
But it’s not a charity (although it feels like it at a times).

He needs to snap himself out of it because I still think he can give something to this team .
But the fans turning on him already will just kill him off .

That’s a shame .

Very good post .

Only slight caveat is that it isn’t ’just 2 games’ though is it as far as Madsens concerned.
I genuinely would love him to succeed , but that might involve putting him at 10 and moving Chair wide left but he can’t press either so what we do about it I just don’t know .
At some point , not sure when , we may have to admit defeat .

Wow .
It’s worse than I thought .
X is a bonkers place isn’t it ?

I think people have to also consider and accept that football fans are reactionary after games .
That’s part of why we love this sport .
For me it’s the equivalent of going into the pub after the match with my mates and chewing the fat about who played well, who didn’t , why did the coach make that decision, god the ref was crap, what a goal by whoever
..
QPR mates have all moved on . I don’t go to the pub after games
so you lot have become ‘that’.
At times I think , blimey I shouldn’t have said that in hindsight .
But , saying that , I see people who are let’s say ‘more optimistic than others ‘ about the current set up saying things like ‘drama queens’ , ‘old farts’ etc etc .

“2 games and you’ve written the head coach off’

No one has done that on here .
If we as fans are not allowed to chit chat about what we think are good and bad , right and wrong then I think I’ll walk away . You can have the sanitised football club and fan sites.

There is stuff going on that seriously makes me think about it anyway .

Add now we have ‘fan pages’ on social media and on sites like this popping up and all saying the same thing . All with exactly the same thoughts and language .

What’s happening ?
That stuff said about Clive is horrific .

And that ain’t the half of it .
How he doesn’t just jack it all in I’ll never know .

I for one am very thankful that you don’t .
But nobody can put up with that for too long.

And the really worrying thing is where it’s originating from.
Fans should be more concerned than they are .

Even with 5 subs on we fell off a cliff .

Substandard preparation.
Who to blame is another question .

However , if the fitness comes together and the injuries dry up (big if) , we will all be in no doubt who will take the credit.

Agree Terry .

Whether Nourry is picking the entire team is probably unlikely .
Whether he is dictating certain things is much more likely .

And he is absolutely no experience to do so

Yes . Perhaps reserving my judgement until September 1st would be best admittedly , but we shouldn’t be in a position that 1 injury to 1 player ( Jimmy) causes so much upheaval .

That’s a squad not assembled properly.

But again , accept it might look different in a couple of weeks.
In the mean time though , we are dropping points ..again.

All very well but do you think a coach as experienced as Stephen is , with all his experience, would try to win the game on Tuesday by putting on 2 16 year olds ? Not Rooney and Owen in their teenage pomp , but 2 kids who hadn’t even trained with the first team until Monday . And a 17 year old added to the DS squad and Nardi
.to try to win a cup tie?

So it’s not GB suggesting it .

It’s front in front of everyone if you want to see it

Lots of really good posts on here dissecting ,what as fans , we can see that needs desperate surgery before the transfer window ends really .

Fantastic point about Esquirdinha .
If you prepare for the season with Larkeche as first choice and Esquirdinha as back up , which is clearly what pre season suggested , and don’t get anyone else in , then why not play Esq. when it’s necessary?
I would suggest that StĂ©phan thinks he can’t trust him yet (away from home against wingers) , so straight away we are in the same situation we were this time last year , when the head coach wasn’t happy with the squad he was given .
We might get loans in , but as Hunterhoop said, we have already started p*ssing away games (only 2 league games admittedly
but the squad is full of holes ) whilst the head coach tries to shuffle this lop sided , weak , unfit and leaky squad .

Certain players can’t play more than a half , certain players play just to cover the weakness elsewhere (Smyth played ultimately to help Mbengue
almost sacrificing his game
it’s mad).
On the other side Dembele gives a Morgan no cover and at times Morgan gave Morgan no cover 😄 , giving Morrison to wide an area to cover . And I could go on .
Cook looks as stiff as board and either frightened of his injury or it’s affecting him. Everything he does is at its most basic .
Mbengue was good last week . Put Vale in there at left back . He has played there before .
I bang on relentlessly (I’m sorry ) about the pattern of play (ok Methodology đŸ€ź) , but it has such serious flaws.
Another is our wide men being so wide that it leaves huge chasms of space that 2 in midfield , especially Madsen, can’t cover . We are so open it’s embarrassing and I felt embarrassed yesterday.
Not at the performance particularly, but the way we play , the squad assembled and the square pegs in round holes all over the place .
If I was Burrell this morning , I’d be quietly reflecting and wondering if i’d made the right move .
Played in 3 games (albeit not full games ) and only 1 half chance created alongside Kone being the main striker .

Which leads me once again back to that last question aimed at the panel at the fans forum .
Is there a plan B?
For me that. Caught them out and there was no real answer .

Will Burrell get to play alongside Kone?
We cannot just be so rigid in our ‘plan A’. I don’t want to hark back to Marti , because he has gone , only because he was the last coach , but he tried this and it didn’t work , so he done his thing and clearly the CEO didn’t like it .
Why rest Adamson in midweek if not to play him , even for a bit on the Saturday .
Because it was a tick box excercise in midweek. A cup match thrown away to use statistics down the road .
There’s no other explanation.
And if the head coach feels he isn’t ready then once again the recruitment hasn’t been good enough and around and around we go..
I fear history repeating itself here .
I hope I’m wrong . I desperately hope I’m wrong .

We have been screaming for strikers for what feels like decades . And rightly so.

We have a couple of decent (not proven though so let’s not get carried away) ones at the club now .
Along with Frey and Celar and Kolli too .

But until we tweak this f*cking club methodology and way of playing , tweak it , not ditch it , and start creating chances for our strikers , in areas that will hurt the opposition, then Kone and Burrell might as well be Hale and Pace
it doesn’t matter , they will all look the same .

Chasing around a lot , some more than others but ultimately not really affecting the game .

It’s no coincidence.
It’s the way we play and it means we don’t create enough .

It really doesn’t matter who is up front at the moment.
Drives me nuts

Talking off kick off
. What the hell is that kick into touch about l?
It’s not even hidden with any players half heartedly going for it .
Even my Mrs said “we aren’t playing rugby, what’s that ?”

For me it gave a glimpse into the mindset for that first half.
And as I said before , I felt slightly embarrassed.
We’re better than that ain’t we ?

Spot on .

Big summer signing , big expectations , then we play him out of position because Celar can’t play anywhere else .

Mind blown
